Chapter 11

Sorry guys for the delay I fell sick with the flu but now I'm feeling much better.

I'm a huge fan of Adam Ulanicki I feel like his music is really underrated and this song says so much about this chapter.

The night was young music blaring in the club while I sat at a corner observing the moment at Pure Bliss.

Ramon was not at my side probably in one of the private rooms with Vlad.

He didn't think I noticed how he stared at the male stripper how he came to his defense anytime the men in the club tried to do anything the man didn't want.

My train of thoughts was disrupted by blonde hair accompanied with blue eyes that I wasn't supposed to be seeing. I chanced it to be the effects of the vodka I was having. Maybe the man was on my mind too much than I cared to admit and it seemed like Ramon wasn't the only one who was whipped.

From where I was the man who had just walked in couldn't see me but I had a clear view of him. He was in casual black jeans with a black t-shirt to accompany it. His presence reminded me of a beautiful winter morning, refreshing.

He found his way to the furthest corner in the club where no one could easily spot him but he could spot them. No wonder he was a detective. He ordered for shots instead of a whiskey. Something told me he was a whiskey kind of guy.

He took his phone scrolling mindlessly for a few minutes where he seemed a bit anxious his eyes darting around as if looking for someone. Though his moves were subtle I noticed each and every one of them. He put his phone back in his pocket when his drinks were served to him.

He took eight shots at a go without stopping.

I couldn't tell why I just watched him wallow in whatever misery he was in without approaching him until he seemed more lose.

Maybe it was because I was a selfish bastard.

When he got up to dance to the beat of a song that had just started playing some girl tried to dance with him but he warned her off.

Until this one guy got close to him and he didn't seem repulsed.

My suspicions now had been cleared. I don't know how I made my way to the dance floor every one who saw me made way and finally when I stood behind the detective who continued swaying to the music thinking it was still the man who was dancing with him earlier.

My hands went towards his waist allowing myself to get lost in the moment before he realized it was me.

I smelled his hair which was a mixture of blueberry scented shampoo and pine.

His body which was pressed on mine felt warm and perfect.

We swayed gently to the song his back pressed on my front.

When the song came to an end he pulled me to the corner he was seated at.

What he did next was something I hadn't expected especially when his lips connected with mine.

The shock left me after I realized what he was doing.

It took every ounce of restraint in me there and then not to open my mouth and kiss him back with the fire that he unknowingly ignited at the pit of my stomach. I pushed him away gently while he seemed a little resistant until his eyes flew open.

The blue eyes that I was beginning to grow accustomed to reminded me of a warm summer sky. "Detective I didn't know you missed me this much. They do say distance makes the heart fonder," I teased.

He cleared his throat uneasily creating distance between us. I could tell wheels were turning in his head wondering where the other guy went, probably on the streets where my men must have thrown him out by my signal. No one laid a hand on what was mine.

"You are the last person I wanted to see tonight," he sighed.

His shoulders seemed exhausted with a burden he was carrying within himself that caused him to end at Pure Bliss, the last place I would expect him to be.

"I didn't know I irritated you that much." He turned to face me and our eyes met. Me looking at him admiring every single detail of his beautifully structured face. I couldn't tell what he was looking for in my eyes but I welcomed his steady gaze which made his eyes turn glassy.

Before I could say another word his next statement shocked me. "It's quite the contrary Ivan. I really wish that you irritated me that much maybe it would be easier."

His words were muffled by the gaggling sounds he was making he looked like he wanted to vomit. "I don't feel so good," he said.

"Come with me let me take you somewhere where the lights are less blinding and the music isn't blaring." He allowed me support his weight as we made our way to the penthouse on top of the club. My men tried to follow but I waved them showing I had the situation in control.

Eugene who had recognized the detective watched me warily not approving of my decision but I was the boss. "Watch the club make sure nothing goes wrong!" I ordered.

On the balcony of my penthouse stood the detective and I after his wave of nausea had passed. The man stared at the city lights probably appreciating the view while I stared at him appreciating what I saw.

"Don't look at me like that," he warned.

"Why?"

"It makes me want to kiss you," surprised for the second time during the night I watched the man.

There was some wild aspect of him tonight not the uptight cautious detective he was.

He made me want to protect him with how he seemed so vulnerable.

His words did something to my insides. Needing to distract myself I lit a cigarette allowing the smoke into my lungs to calm myself.

"I want you to fuck me Ivan."

I pretended I hadn't heard what the man said allowing myself to focus on the intake of smoke and releasing it.

"Now now now detective I didn't peg you for the desperate type.

As much as I'd want to do that I don't think we should be having this conversation when you are intoxicated it clouds your judgement.

Who knows if tomorrow a lawsuit would be awaiting me for assault. "

He remained quiet upon hearing my words. Even covered by the dark shadows of the night I could have sworn I saw a stray tear leaving his eye. "We both know what you asked of me is not what you really want. It seems like you are hiding something detective, care to share?"
