Epilogue #1

Sloane: HELP! SOS!

Sloane: Anyone here?

Hailey: OMG! Are you okay? What’s wrong?

Sloane: I’m freaking out and don’t know what to do!

Jade: Okay, I’m here! What’s going on?

Billie: Who’s hurt?

Ash: Is this like a REAL SOS, or are you being dramatic?

Chloe: Hey! What do you need, Sloane? We’re here for you!

Sloane: Okay, I just got a call from the manager up at Summit Ridge!

Sloane: They want to hire me as their director of social media!

Hailey: That’s amazing! Congratulations!

Jade: This is all good news! Why the SOS?

Sloane: They know I’m working with Levi.

Sloane: He’s the one who referred me.

Billie: But…???

Sloane: Summit Ridge is huge! I’ve never handled an account that large!

Sloane: They said I can still take on other clients, but am I even qualified for this?

Chloe: When do you have to give them an answer?

Sloane: They told me to take a couple of days.

Sloane: It’s just so fast!

Sloane: I’ve only been in town for a week!

Ash: So this was a dramatic SOS

Ash: Okay, I think I speak for all of us when I tell you that you can totally do this.

Ash: And this kind of makes you official.

Sloane: Official?

Ash: We go big here in Sweetbriar Ridge.

Ash: We’re a bunch of badasses. Welcome to the club!

Jade: She’s right! We’re awesome and we continue to take this town by storm!

Jade: Girl power!

Hailey: I’m so proud of you! They wouldn’t be offering you the position if they didn’t think you could handle it.

Hailey: Obviously Levi shared your work and they liked what they saw!

Billie: Let’s do a girls' night either tonight or tomorrow, and we’ll work it all out.

Billie: And I’ll work out the financial aspect for you so you know what you should charge now that you’re working for yourself.

Jade: Billie knows what she’s talking about. Trust me.

Hailey: Whose house? What time? And what are we eating?

Chloe: Can we do tomorrow night? Sorry Sloane, but I have parent conferences this afternoon and I’m swamped.

Sloane: No worries! I didn’t mean to upset anyone’s plans!

Ash: Then don’t all caps us with SOS! LOL!

Billie: Don’t listen to her. She’s just cranky.

Billie: As usual.

Sloane: Thanks, guys. I love you all!

Jade: So…where are we having girls' night tomorrow?

Billie: Let’s do it at my house. Five o’clock. Mexican.

Ash: Done!

Jade: Done!

Chloe: Done! See you all tomorrow!

Hailey: Done!

Sloane: Thank you!!

Putting her phone down, she sighed happily, unable to believe things were falling into place so soon. When her phone dinged again, she saw it was her sister and it was a private chat between the two of them.

Hailey: You and I both know you’re going to take that job.

Hailey: Because you’re amazing and it doesn’t matter how big of a job it is, you can do it!

Hailey: I love you and I believe in you!

Hailey: Also, you’re in charge of bringing the wine tomorrow.

Hailey: Byeee!

Putting her phone down again, she looked around and realized she felt completely content. The move, living with Will, and her career…everything was falling into place, and it was all so much better than she ever imagined.

This was her home.

Her future.

The next time her phone dinged, it was Will.

Will: Hey, love! How’s your day going?

Sloane: Good! Levi potentially hooked me up with a big client!

Will: That’s amazing!

Will: Can you tell me who it is?

Sloane: Summit Ridge! Eek!

Will: Then that settles it. We’re going out to celebrate tonight!

Sloane: Will…we don’t have to! We can just get some takeout and chill.

Will: Nope! I think we should head up to Summit Ridge for dinner.

Will: I’ll make the reservations and I’ll leave work early so I can shower and get ready.

Sloane: Are you sure? We really don’t have to do this.

Will: Don’t you get it?

Will: You are this incredible woman who I still can’t believe is mine and you deserve to be celebrated.

Will: I love you.

Sloane: Love you too.

Will: Good. I’ll see you at home.

He sent a few heart emojis that made her smile.

Yeah. When she chose Will to kiss that day so long ago, she never expected things to turn out like this.

“I chose well,” she said, placing her phone down. “I chose really well.”
