Chapter Ten

Pete

F rustration builds up inside me as I walk around the room. I crack my knuckles, and my neck, and I still feel tense and agitated. It’s not the only thing I feel, but sating other urges right now wouldn’t sit right.

We have another mate, and something shady is going on right under her.

“I need to get into her room,” I blurt, heading toward the suite’s door and finding Shadow blocking my path.

My soft-centred mate is giving me one of his looks.

He’s disappointed with me, and it only makes me more irritable to see that.

“We have time,” Shadow says. “So, let me calm you down, and we can talk things through logically, before you break a lock and get caught with your hands in our new mate’s underwear drawer.”

“She’s in trouble.”

“Pete, it’s not even noon. Whoever messed with the lights was clearly planning on doing whatever he’s going to do when it’s dark out. We have time,” Shadow repeats, helping those words sink in.

It’s starting to get through.

“I don’t like this,” I admit, letting him get close enough to touch.

“I know,” he says, as he reaches up to stroke the side of my face with his cool fingers.

The bands of the silver rings he wears are even colder than his tips and that physical sensation helps to push my agitation down and ground me in the moment.

“But if we push too hard before she understands who we are to her, it’ll take so much longer to connect as mates, and I know that’s not what you want.”

“God, no,” I mutter.

My body’s already painfully aware of our connection.

If she’d been receptive, I would have claimed her already.

The thought of what it would feel like gave me a rock-hard dick that’s still stretching out the front of my jeans. Ignoring the impulse to whip it out and relieve the tension seriously burned out my willpower.

“Tell me what you need,” Shadow asks, the surge of his perfume showing he’s in need of a physical release as much as I am right now.

“Get on your knees.”

He moves down swiftly, tugging off his shirt once he’s on his knees in front of me and letting it fall to the ground by his side. He looks up at me with eager eyes, and I unbutton my jeans.

I made the choice not to wear boxers today, because something told me we might end up fucking in a public place where we’d have to be quick. Didn’t happen, but seeing how hungry his gaze gets when my thick shaft springs out makes the decision worthwhile.

“Now, suck my cock, and think about how tight and wet that pussy’s going to be when our mate opens her legs for you.”

He doesn’t hesitate. Not for a second.

And I have no damn doubt that he’s thinking about Lana’s pussy while he’s deep-throating my dick. His muffled moans get louder while he works, bobbing up and down slowly, and eventually introducing one of his hands to the base while his tongue teases my tip.

God, that tongue.

It’s long, and eager, and the way he flicks it makes my toes curl.

“Are you thinking about our girl?” I ask, as I run a hand over his head.

He nods slowly, glancing up at me while he sucks and licks and strokes my cock.

“Good. Now, think about how hard that tight pussy will grip your dick while she comes for you.”

I let my fingers twist into his pale hair, grasping to keep him close.

“She’ll come for you, Shadow, and you’ll fill her up with your perfumed cum. Guess what happens after that?”

He moans, and his eyes close, as his moans get deeper.

“I’ll eat her pussy out while you mark her throat. Every last drop will be mine to taste, Shadow. You know how damn good I am at eating ass. I’m even better at eating pussy.”

It’s been so long, and she’s not just a random stranger.

This woman is fated for us.

Her pussy’s going to be ours to worship.

I fully intend to take my time and relish every last lick.

Shadow goes back to deep-throating my length, and I know I’m not going to last long enough to get him out of his pants. I’m going to lose it in his perfect, filthy mouth.

“Get ready to drink me down, Shadow.”

He moans softly and picks up his pace, taking my tip deep and sending me over the edge.

I groan as I hold onto his hair and rock lightly into his mouth as I start to come.

He gazes up at me with watery eyes as he swallows my load.

Watching his head bob as his throat works to drink down every last drop, I feel calmer than I have all day. Every bit of tension is released as I let go of Shadow’s hair, and he moves back with wet lips and a needy gaze.

He’s given me what I needed, but I still have work to do to make him feel good.

I’m about to order him out of the rest of his clothes, when the door to the suite opens.

My heart skips a beat, my thoughts centring on Lana.

When Ezra walks into the room in his scrubs and lab coat, I let out a breath.

He closes the door and locks it behind him, a bemused smile on his face.

“I see you two are getting comfortable.”

Shadow gets to his feet, picking up his shirt.

“We didn’t know how long you’d be,” he admits.

As usual, our Omega is ready to ignore his own needs in order to please our Alpha.

I push my shrinking cock back inside my jeans. “It took ages to get here, and Owen’s been preoccupied with work shit for days. Shadow has needs.”

I might be fully prepared to take care of those needs, but I’m not an Alpha.

I can’t give him the one thing he really craves.

None of the simulated versions of a knot come anywhere close to making him feel the way he does when Ezra or Owen is locked inside him.

“I’m fine,” Shadow reassures Ezra as he moves toward him.

I watch our Alpha gaze into Shadow’s eyes before leaning in to kiss him softly and slowly.

Shadow practically melts for Ezra.

It’s only because he hardly ever fucking sees him.

Too bad I’m available to our Omega twenty-four-seven.

I never get him the same way our Alphas do.

He craves their attention like it’s the air he needs to survive.

I clear my throat as they end their romantic reunion kiss.

“That’s my cum you can taste in his stomach, by the way.”

Ezra gives me a wry smile. “I’ve missed you, too, Pete.”

I roll my eyes. “Well, clearly, we should have come for a visit sooner.”

“You didn’t tell us we have another mate,” Shadow complains.

Ezra’s lips form an ‘O’ and it’s obvious he already knew.

He couldn’t have met her without knowing.

I’m a Beta, and I knew.

She might as well have a flashing neon sign over her head.

“I’ve been trying to find a way to get Owen out here,” Ezra admits. “But you know he hates this city.”

“We don’t exactly like Omega Academies, but we’re here.”

“Shadow makes a good point.”

Ezra sighs. “This isn’t a typical academy.”

“I didn’t think it could be,” I admit.

If Lana’s truly fated to be ours, she can’t be pimping Omegas out to rich Alpha-holes.

“It’s different because of Lana,” he goes on. “She’s the one making changes to turn this place around. The Alpha Alliance contacted her to help with the Omegas they rescued, and she agreed and organized everything to make sure they had the help they needed. That’s why I’m out here. I heard what was happening and I had to help. I didn’t think it might turn into something I want to stay and keep doing, but after meeting Lana … I think this is where we’re all meant to be.”

“And we’re going to have to convince Owen,” I murmur, not sure it’s possible, at least not without getting him here to meet Lana and come to the same realization we already have.

I don’t have any ties back in Platinum Valley.

It’s not where I came from, and I don’t feel attached to anywhere that I’ve already been.

Shadow’s parents were assholes he ran away from. His ties are only to his mates.

Ezra’s always moving around for work, but it sounds like this is one assignment he’d like to hold onto. Makes sense to me, especially considering it’s where Lana is.

Owen’s the only problem.

He’s the one who hates Cressidan City.

He was brought up here, and his parents wanted him to marry an academy Omega. He walked away from his inheritance rather than do that, and he swore he’d never come back here for any damn reason.

It’s not going to be easy to convince him to come out here.

From the look on Ezra’s face, I can tell he knows.

Still, this isn’t something we can give up on.

Surrender isn’t an option.

Not while we have a new mate to protect and claim.

Owen’s going to have to be the one to wave the white flag.

I don’t see that happening anytime soon, so I clear my throat.

“If you don’t mind, I think I’ll go watch over our new mate.”

“Watch over?” Ezra asks, frowning at me.

“Shadow can explain.”

These two need some time to themselves anyway.

I move past my Alpha, leaving them to get reacquainted without me.

I push away the thought of what I’m missing out on.

Now isn’t the time for distractions.

Staying focused on Lana’s safety is what’s going to keep her out of harm’s way.

That’s all that matters right now.
