Chapter Six

Baron waited until Regina closed their bedroom door. They’d said goodnight to Compass, who’d mentioned Roam had just gone to bed. Compass had helped Roam put out the Santa gifts for the kids.

Regina and he would head to the clubhouse to get all the food started, then come back to the house when Roam called that the kids were up.

He thought about all the years he and Regina had been blessed with, especially his first Christmas with her and the boys. He’d never known he could feel such love until they’d come into his life.

That first Christmas, when he and his brothers had given them a Christmas to remember. Watching War and Roam’s eyes light when they saw their presents had been all the gifts he needed. He had to admit that he and his brothers had gone a little overboard, but they didn’t know any other way. They all saw needs and had an innate drive to fix it. It was what the originals had started, and the next generation was carrying on.

He and Regina were thrilled to have Roam and War home. Even though his middle child Gage had chosen to be a part of their Cider Creek Chapter, he couldn’t be happier that his son was the Vice President. He only had one of his children who he still worried about more than the others. Ariel was his baby girl who had paved her own way. When she’d gone to work for the bail bonds in what he’d been told would be tech, he hadn’t been thrilled but understood it wasn’t his job to direct her life. In the last year, Baron had realized his daughter’s job might not be what he’d been told. Running tech at the Topeka office didn’t keep his baby girl away from home for holidays. She called on a semi-regular basis, so for now, he was leaving it alone.

Instead, he was going to focus on his wife. Regina may have aged, but she was still the woman who had changed his life and who still had him ready to show her how much she meant to him.

“Darlin’, come here.” Baron pulled her close, so they were flush. He’d never tire of holding this woman.

“Do you remember what I said to you in our kitchen so long ago?” He brushed a kiss on top of her head and then across her forehead. They might have been together over forty years, but he still saw the woman he’d fallen in love with.

“You said I’d look back and see it was the start of our love story. Even though I didn’t believe you then, you were right.”

She leaned up, brushing her lips against his jaw. He wondered if he had time to worship his wife. He didn’t want her tired before such a big day and since Roam and the kids had moved in, she’d been picking up a lot of the slack.

“Yes, I also said I saw forever the first time you opened your gorgeous blue eyes. This may sound harsh, but I’m thankful for that ass who was a bigamist. If he hadn’t screwed up, you might never have come to Bluff Creek. I would have forever wandered around missing the other half of me.”

Regina’s fingers slid under his shirt, swiftly undoing his belt and button, to slide his zipper down. Her hand slid inside his jeans. Even at his age, the touch of her hands on him had him hardening and ready to please his wife. He’d let her make the decision whether they had time or not because the majority of the blood was no longer powering his brain.

“There are many things I adore about you, Matthew Warrick Shields, but to hear my rough and tumble biker share his heart is one of my favorites. Now, why don’t you take my clothes off and give me a ride?”

Her giggle after her statement had him smiling. She was the woman he would always be grateful came into his life.

He swiftly had her out of her clothes and lying on the bed. Her eyes on him had him hurrying to slide his boots and jeans off. When he’d finally divested himself of his clothes, Regina slid her legs open and crooked her finger at him.

“You were a very good boy this year, Santa. I think you deserve a reward. Why don’t you climb on for a quickie? We both have to be up in a couple hours.”

His laughter didn’t diminish his hard-on because his wife was perfect. Her smile, her scent and the love shining from her eyes had him leaning close for a kiss as he situated himself at her entrance.

“You sure, darlin?”

“Baron, with a glance, you can still make me wet for you. Plus, I’ve wanted you since we left on the bike. It was too cold for me to chance trying to have you out there.”

He nodded as he thrust in. Each time with Regina was coming home. He knew he was breathing heavily, but it was taking all his concentration to not come immediately. His woman knew exactly what did it for him. Her inner muscles clenching on him had him fighting to not just give in.

“I’m there, Baron,” she breathed out.

He quit holding back and rode the wave crashing over him with her legs clasped tightly around his waist.

“I love you, darlin’,” he whispered when he could speak.

“You are my shield and my man. Not a day goes by that I’m not thankful for my first Christmas with you. Now roll off me, babe, so I can clean up and we can get a little shuteye.”

Baron rolled off his woman, snagging his T-shirt to slide between her legs. Holding it there, she waddled into the bathroom to clean up. Normally he’d clean her up himself, but he was wiped out and she’d offered. He snagged his underwear from the floor and slid it on. Since Roam had moved in with the kids, it wasn’t unusual for Grant to wake them up and crawl into bed with them sometimes.

Regina finished in the bathroom and slid on one of his T-shirts and a pair of panties, snuggling onto his shoulder.

He glanced at the clock—one a.m. Christmas Day. “Merry Christmas, darlin’.”

“Merry Christmas, Baron.”

He listened to her breathe until she was breathing deeply and evenly. Then he drifted off.

The End Until Next Christmas Eve!
