Dylan #2
“I think you’re reading way too much into this if I’m being completely honest,” Elvis tells me.
“I know Liam, Dylan, and he would never expect high standards. It’s the same with Dean and me, we don’t go out and splash cash on fancy, expensive restaurants even though we can afford it.
I don’t care for Dean’s money. He earned it on his own, and it’s not mine, regardless of the fact that I’m his husband.
We’ve signed a prenup, so if everything goes belly up, I walk away with nothing.
And you know what? I’m totally okay with that because I walked into this marriage with nothing, so I can just as easily walk away with nothing. ”
I know he makes a valid point, and maybe I am being a total idiot about everything.
“You need to stop with this insecurity, Dylan. It’s obvious that Liam cares about you, and I genuinely believe that he does.
I’ve seen the way you two act around one another, especially at family barbecues, you throw daggers at one another.
Boss or not, the guy has been totally crushing over you. You do like him, right?” Isabella asks.
“I more than like him, Bella, and it’s taken me over five years to realize that.”
“What did you say to him when he asked you?” she inquires.
“I said yes. I was so overwhelmed with shock and happiness both at the same time. He even suggested we compromise on the whole date thing.”
“Oh, how so?” Elvis asks.
“He said that while the resort doesn’t have any restaurants, I could wine and dine him at any of the various locations where they serve food on the island.
He said, while it’s an all-expenses-paid trip and I wasn’t physically paying for anything, that I could treat it as if we were on a date and I was paying. ”
“Awww, he sounds so perfect. Too bad he’s gay. Such a waste.” Bella laughs.
“Excuse me?” I say.
“You know what I mean, I just wish he was straight so that I could have him all to myself.”
That has me smiling. After discussing my feelings with Bella and Elvis, I’m convinced now that I’ve made the right decision.
They’re both right, why the hell am I worried about something that hasn’t even happened?
I think, for someone who was terrified of exploring the idea of being with my boss, things have turned out pretty damn well.
I’ve managed to hold myself together, even if I have had doubts.
Maybe this trip away is exactly what we both need.
After a stressful year at work, the two of us could definitely use the time away to relax and shut out the rest of the world.
And it would most definitely be the perfect setting to have our way with one another again.
Damn, just the thought of having sex with that man again almost makes my cock hard.
“You’re thinking about fucking him again, aren’t you?” Bella says.
“How—no! Okay, maybe a little,” I confess.
“Dylan, you’re totally gushing over this guy. As far as I’m concerned, the only thing you should be worried about is what to pack,” Elvis tells me.
“Judging by the look on his face, I’d say pack the bare minimum because it won’t be staying on for very long.” Bella laughs.
“Thank you. Thank you both so much for making me feel better and realizing that this is the right decision.”
Bella gets off the couch first, then makes her way over toward me and embraces me with a tight hug.
“You’re welcome. Just promise me you’ll have a great time and not worry about anything. You deserve to be happy, Dylan,” she tells me, planting a kiss on my cheek.
She pulls away from me, a wide smile on her face as she moves back over to the couch. Elvis pushes off the armchair and he too moves toward me, also embracing me in one of his brotherly hugs.
“I’m happy for you, bro. You deserve all of this and so much more. I’m glad you’re finally happy.”
“Thank you,” I whisper.
He sits back down and I join Bella on the couch.
“Did he say where he’s taking you?” Bella asks.
“Um, yeah. Some resort called Necker Island,” I reply.
“Oh, I’ve heard of that. A lot of celebrities have stayed there. We were going to go there during our honeymoon but it was fully booked out. Richard is really good friends with Liam and Dean.”
“Yeah, he mentioned that,” I say.
“You’re going to have the best time. It’s too bad we won’t see you at Christmas, but under the circumstances, I’d say you’ve got a good excuse.”
“You know he called me his boyfriend,” I say, looking at the two of them.
“Awww, that’s so cute. See? I told you it was sickening the way you two flirt with one another.”
I gently elbow her in the ribs and give her a smile.
This has definitely been a very reassuring conversation and I’m relieved to have everything out in the open with the two of them.
Like they said, I know it’s none of their business who I choose to date, but the fact that Liam is my boss and Elvis’s brother-in-law, I wanted to be the one to tell him before he found out through other measures.
“Please don’t say anything to Mom and Dad. I want to tell them when I’m ready.”
“Dude, that’s not our secret to tell. You do whatever is right for you,” Elvis says with a smile.
“Thank you.”
“Are you feeling better now?” Bella asks.
I nod. “Much.”
“Good. Then I think we should get out of here and let you get back to your lover boy.”
With that, the two of them get to their feet, and after saying goodbye, they leave. I go back to the living room, pick up my phone and tap on Liam’s message.
What time do we leave?
With a smile, I press send.
