The Volunteer

Ten orgasms later, he had me with my back against a tree and my legs tossed over his shoulder.

At some point, his lust-filled haze started to fade, and he remembered his whole you come first promise he made three days ago.

(Jesus Christ, only three days?) He’d been making up for it for…

I honestly couldn’t tell you how long. Even though I insisted he had nothing to make up for, he wasn’t hearing any of it, and I certainly wasn’t going to complain.

Then my phone started ringing. More accurately, my villain phone. Holy fuck, we’d been out here for nearly three hours.

“Aus, I need to answer that.”

He pulled back, just enough that he could speak.

“Why are you telling me? Your mouth isn’t the one occupied. Mine is.”

“I—” I cut off with a moan when his tongue went back to doing the devils work. “Fuck Aus, I can’t string a—” another moan “—sentence together.”

“Sure you can. Pretend I’m not here.”

Easy for him to say.

He grabbed the phone from his back pocket and handed it to me, going back to work. I peeked at the number before answering. Fuck me, of course. Of course it would be him.

“Hello?” Damn it, that came out way too breathy.

“Why do you sound out of breath?”

I rolled my eyes—half annoyance, half Austin being the devil incarnate with his fucking tongue.

“Hey, good afternoon, how’s your day going?” I said sarcastically.

Usually, I would have added his name in there, but Austin was currently doing unholy things to me. Even if he hadn’t demanded that I only say his name when he was fucking me, I still wouldn’t have said Hemlock’s—it was liable to come out a moan and that would be bad for everyone involved.

“Right. Manners. You’re such a stickler for manners. Hey, V. What are you doing right now? Why are you out of breath?”

I sighed. I want to say it came out annoyed but Austin’s fucking mouth was killing me.

“I was running.”

“The weather is terrible. Why would you run in this?”

“I’m not in the city.”

“Where are you?”

“Why are you being so nosey?”

“I told you, with Av gone, someone has to take his over protective role. Me and Whisp rock, paper, scissored over it and I won.”

I snorted. “You guys are ridiculous.”

“So? Where are you?”

“None of your business.”

I could tell Austin wasn’t pleased with how long this was taking. His fingers dug into my ass, pinning me closer to his face. I tried to get my hand over my mouth to cover my gasp, but I didn’t make it in time.

“What was that?”

“I— What?” Fucking fucker. His tongue dipped into me and I lost all thought process. “Fuck.”

There was a five second pause.

“Violet, are you getting fucked right now?”

“What? No.”

That didn’t help my case. Came out way too breathy.

“No?”

“I… I ran into a tree.”

Good one. I wanted to hit myself in the face.

“That was not a pain gasp. That was a sex gasp.”

“I…” I pressed my lips together to keep a full-blown moan from coming out as Austin slid one of his fingers into me.

Okay, I needed to get the fuck off this call.

“Remember when you asked me if I was one of those dark romance readers? Well, the answer is unapologetically yes. And sometimes I like a little pain.”

Austin’s chuckle vibrated against my sensitive spot. I had to bite down on my bottom lip—hard—to keep from whimpering. I was close and he knew it. I could feel him smirking. This sick fucker wanted me to finish, wanted Hemlock to hear me finish.

“Do it again.”

“What?”

“Come on V, please. I need something for my fantasy later. Do it again.” His tone was teasing, but I was also pretty sure he was being serious.

“I—"

Come on, Nightshade. He’s asking for it, let him hear how good you sound when you come for me, baby.

I let out a little whimper before I could stop myself. I didn’t know how I felt about this mind-to-mind communication thing we seemed to have going on but, in this moment, had to love it.

“More.” Hemlock’s voice was even, but his breathing was far from it.

“Are you—”

“Fucking more.”

I looked down at Austin. He was enjoying every second of this. If I was being totally honest, I was, too. I never thought I’d be into people watching, but listening… Yeah, I could get on board with that.

“I— Fuck,” I moaned leaning my head back on the tree.

I was so fucking close, but I didn’t want to. Not yet, the build-up was the best part. And I had not one, but two supervillains’ undivided attention. I wasn’t exactly eager for this to end.

Come on, baby, let him hear you scream for me.

I moaned again, louder this time. My legs were shaking so bad I was surprised he was still keeping me up right.

Not yet. I don’t— It feels— Not—

He grazed his teeth over my clit, causing a little gasp to escape.

Before I could even fully process that, he was slipping a second and third finger into me.

Fuck, fuck, fuck! I tried to lift my free hand over my mouth to muffle the sound of my moan but one of those ice shackle pinned it to the tree.

Hemlocks breathing turned fully ragged.

“Fuck, V. You sound so good. Keep going.”

I couldn’t tell you what happened next. I think there was cursing, moaning, heavy breathing.

Austin’s and Hemlock’s voices were echoing around in my head.

Telling me how good I was doing, they loved my noises, they wanted more.

Hemlock was begging me to let go and Aus was telling me to listen to him.

A part of me wondered what it would be like if he was actually here. Would Austin share? What would it feel like with both their hands? Both their mouths? Both their tongues?

The moan that came out of me as I finished was nothing short of shameful. Wave after wave of pleasure flooded my body until my mind came back to itself and realized what the fuck just happened. Heat flooded to my cheeks.

I’ll never be able to look him in the eyes again, what the fuck were you thinking?

“Where are you?” Hemlock’s gravelly voice snapped me out of it.

“I…”

“Violet, where the fuck are you? I want to see you.”

“I— No. I shouldn’t have done that.”

“V—”

“I have to go.” I hung up and dropped my phone to the forest floor. I groaned, hitting my head on the tree behind me. “Why would you let me do that? He’s never going to leave me alone now.”

Austin was still holding me up but thankfully he’d pulled back—his mouth at least, his fingers were still buried in me. He looked up at me with a smirk and my arousal dripping down his chin.

“Because I love it when you make a mess and…” he trailed off, pulling his fingers out slowly, causing a gush of liquid to come pouring out.

Oh. My. God. I fucking squirted.

“You made such a good mess for me, Nightshade.”

“I—”

My phone rang. Damn it, I was hoping the snow would fuck it up.

His eyes were sparkling with amusement.

“You should answer that.”

“No. He knows I’m alive, he’s not going to raise any alarm bells. He can chill.” I lowered my voice to a mumble. “I need to chill.”

“I could always answer it.”

I glared—or I tried to, I didn’t have the energy required for my usual leave of sass.

“Then he’ll definitely figure out where I am, storm over here, and blow your whole fake death plot.”

He rolled his eyes but ignored my ploy to switch the subject.

“Would you want him to join us?”

“I— What?” I sputtered.

“Did you want him to join us?” He planted lazy kisses on the inside of my legs. “I’m not one hundred percent sure I wouldn’t kill him for touching you, but I’m open to the idea of giving it a try. If it’s something you were interested in.”

“Is this a test?”

He chuckled, pulling away to set my feet back on the ground. His grip on me was still tight which was good because he was the only thing keeping me upright.

“No test. Just an option for you, if you want it.”

I eyed him suspiciously.

“I’ll think about it.”

“Excellent. In the meantime—” he scooped me into his arms. I let out a squeal that morphed into a giggle. “—you need water. And probably a snack or two.”

A second later, we were engulfed in shadows, the second after that we were standing in the bathroom. He set me down on the tile seat built next to the tub and stepped back.

I gaped at him.

“You— But we— I know you hate it when I admire your powers but fuck me, that’s incredible.”

He turned on the faucet for the bath, chuckling to himself.

“I’ve already spent nearly three hours fucking you. Damn Nightshade, I think you’re the insatiable one.”

I splashed him with the water pouring out of the facet.

“Shut up, you know what I meant.”

He grinned. “Sure, but I’m trying to teach you to pick your words better.”

I rolled my eyes while pouring a generous amount of bubble bath into the tub.

“You’re a jerk.”

He stuck out his tongue then bopped me in the nose.

“Sure am. But you love me so you’re stuck with me and that’s on you.”

“I mean, I guess that’s not the worst thing ever. You do take very good care of me.”

“And I will always take very good care of you.” He kneeled between my legs with a grin. “Let’s get you out of these so I can get you in the bath and grab you some snacks.”

He tugged my sweater over my head then worked open the buttons on my skirt. I’d lost my bra somewhere in the woods after he’d given me my sweater back, but I wouldn’t care about that yet.

“I like the way you think, Blondie.”

He let out an obnoxious sigh. “I hate that.”

“Yeah, but you love me so you’re stuck with me and that’s on you.” I started cackling at the glare he shot me. Don’t like your own words being thrown back at you, eh?

He cocked his eyebrow.

“So I didn’t imagine it? You really were talking to me?”

“I guess that depends on what you think I said.”

He quoted me. “That is what you were thinking at me isn’t it? I mean, it sure sounds like something you would say, but I keep trying to tell myself there’s no way because neither one of us has a telepathy power. Unless…maybe that’s your power?”

“Hm… Could be. When we get back to the city, I’ll sit down with Whisper and see if he can help me with it.”

“I don’t love that idea.”

“Why? You were fine with fucking me while Hemlock listened and even offered a threesome, but you draw the line at another man helping me? That’s your boundary?”

He narrowed his eyes at me.

“It’s not a boundary. I just don’t like it when you don’t need me.”

“Aw. Baby, I’m always going to need you.” I leaned forward and kissed his nose. “Enough of this. I seem to remember the promise of snacks and water.”

“First, in the tub.” He noticed the bubbles reaching the rim of the tub and shut off the water. “Is the temperature good?”

I dipped my finger in the water and nodded.

“Perfect.” He pulled a hair tie off his wrist that had been hidden by his sweater and handed it to me. “Do you need help getting your hair up or getting in?”

What did I do in my past life to deserve him?

“I’m good. But I really could use that water.”

Especially with the steam in the room. I hadn’t been actually dehydrated since I was a kid, but I was sure I was headed in that direction.

“On it. I’ll be back in a minute.” He placed a kiss on my knuckles a second before disappearing.
