Chapter 13

Robyn

J agger’s voice echoes all around me.

I feel warm in this darkness and, oddly enough, safe.

Slowly, I come to.

I’m drowsy, my head weighs a ton, and I still want to puke.

“Robyn,” Jagger says, holding me in his arms.

We’re on the sidewalk next to my car. His Harley engine rumbles in the background, the headlight hitting us both with its white beam. I squint my eyes and look up at him. “I’m so sorry,” I tell him.

“Dammit, woman, you scared the hell out of me,” he sighs and kisses my temple. “We need to get you to a hospital.”

“I need you to get me home.”

“Robyn, you fainted.”

Somewhere deep down, I know what might happening, but I am nowhere near ready to deal with that just yet. There’s too much on my plate as it is. Besides, with each passing second, the cold September air seems to be working quite well on my senses. I’m awake now. Sharp. Conscious and fully aware of my environment.

Jagger’s cologne blends with the smell of leather and gasoline. Oh, how I adore this particular fragrance. It makes my blood simmer and brings me back to life.

“I’m okay,” I tell him with a weak smile. “Jagger, I promise, I’m okay. It’s just low blood sugar combined with having to deal with Calvin.”

“That piece of shit,” he grunts as he gets up and helps me back on my feet. “He finally showed his face, huh?” He pauses and carefully watches me. “Robyn, you’re pale.”

“I’m scared out of my mind,” I say and sigh deeply. “Baby, I’m fine. I promise. Just take me home, and if at any moment I feel sick again, then you can take me to the hospital.”

He shakes his head slowly, but he’s known me for long enough to understand he’s not going to change my mind. “You can’t drive. I’ll leave the bike here and drive you home.”

“No,” I cup his rugged face and pull him into a kiss. The street is clear now. The few passersby who witnessed the scene have long since dispersed. “Take me home on your Harley. I want to feel the wind in my hair.”

“Are you sure?” he asks, a smile testing the corner of his mouth.

I shrug softly. “Samson said I should ride more. Why not start tonight?”

Jagger doesn’t object. He takes a deep breath, his blue eyes searching my face for a few more seconds before he feels confident enough to let me stand on my own. I inhale and slowly let the air out, proving I’m already better than five minutes ago. I quietly wait as he takes my bag and my broken phone and puts them in his top case, giving me the passenger helmet in return.

“We’ll get you a new phone first thing in the morning,” Jagger says.

“And I’m going to see if Ellie can take Kyra home with her tonight. I don’t want my baby to worry about me,” I reply.

“You’re not spending the night alone.”

“I wasn’t expecting you to leave me alone.”

He chuckles lightly and gets on his bike.

The ride home is downright exhilarating.

Tonight could have ended badly, but I welcome this conclusion with arms wide open. I love every moment of this, even the chills running down my spine as I hold on to Jagger, arms wound tightly around his waist.

He’s a careful rider, steering the Harley down the road and making wide turns until we pull up in my driveway.

Less than a minute later, Ellie comes out of her house. “I’ve been trying to call you,” she says, rushing across the street. “I kept getting your voicemail. Are you okay? Where’s your car?”

“It’s a long and unpleasant story,” I tell Ellie, then give her a hug. “Thank you so much for looking after Kyra, Ellie.”

“You’re welcome, babe. Always. Actually, I was just coming out to tell you she’s sound asleep. Long day at school, apparently,” she says with a smile. “Do you want to let her sleep at my place and pick her up in the morning? I know you had your popcorn and movie night planned, but she was out like a light as soon as we were done with dinner.”

I give Jagger a wry smile. “Decision made.”

“If the kid’s already asleep, it would be a shame to wake her,” he says, fingers tapping away on his phone. My guess is he’s texting Diesel and Knox to join us.

Ellie nods in agreement. “I love Kyra to bits. You don’t even have to pay me for tonight. I just enjoy her company.”

“Don’t be silly, of course I’ll pay. Let me just go in and give her a quick kiss.”

Two minutes later, I’m smooching my daughter’s warm cheek. She’s wrapped in her favorite blanket on the sofa, the TV still playing in the background. I listen to Kyra’s even breathing, her eyes moving slightly underneath her eyelids. She’s deep in the land of dreams. I kiss her temple softly and leave her in Ellie’s care, with a promise to be back for her in the morning.

“Wait, how’d the interview go?” I ask Ellie just as I’m about to head over to my house.

“Samson and Shay were so nice,” she says, smiling broadly. “They’re still interviewing, but they’re gonna let me know by the end of next week if I got the job or not.”

“Good. I’m glad to hear that. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.”

“Robyn.”

“Hm?”

“What happened tonight?” she asks.

Tears prick my eyes, but I blink them back quickly. My emotions can get the better of me sometimes, and this is not the time nor the place to bare my soul, not even in front of one of my closest friends. “I’ll tell you about it tomorrow, I promise. But in short, Calvin finally showed up when I left work,” I say, prompting a gasp out of Ellie. “I’m okay. He knows to stay away from me and Kyra. Jagger made sure of it.”

“Okay, I’ll have a pot of hot coffee ready first thing in the morning. You clearly have a lot to dish!”

I can’t help but laugh. “I wish I didn’t, but yeah.”

“See you tomorrow. And be careful, okay?”

“You, too.”

We talked about this before. The worst-case scenario of Calvin coming back to haunt us. Ellie knows to call the police as soon as she sees him anywhere near our house or anywhere near Kyra. She’s got my back, through and through.

At home, I find Jagger waiting for me in the living room.

“I let myself in, hope you don’t mind,” he says, tentatively seated on the sofa’s edge.

“Of course I don’t mind. Mi casa es su casa. My keys were in my purse, right?”

“Yeah, I left them on that side table in the hallway next to your purse.”

I glance back and see them, then slip out of my jacket and boots and cuddle with him on the sofa for a while. He holds me close, planting sweet kisses on my forehead, on the tip of my nose, and on my lips.

As soon as his tongue slips past, however, a fire erupts in my loins.

I need more.

“Come here,” I wrap my arms around his strong neck and deepen the kiss, hungry and desperate for him, for everything he wants to give me.

I’ve felt his longing over the years like a sweet shadow draped over my shoulders. A comfort of sorts. For a while, I felt guilty because I enjoyed knowing he felt this way about me—yet Jagger has always been respectful, he and the guys keeping their distance until that fateful night a month ago.

“Robyn, hold on,” he pauses.

“Jagger, I told you, I’m okay. I’m not going to faint again.”

He shakes his head. “It’s not that. I’m just wondering. How did it feel seeing Calvin again?”

“Calvin,” I sigh deeply. “I think my fight-or-flight instinct kicked in as soon as I recognized him. I didn’t feel unsafe, more like angry and disgusted.”

“You were married. You had a life together, a daughter.”

I give Jagger a troubled look. “You want to know if I have any feelings left for him.”

“Yeah.”

“No. None. Nothing left,” I reassure him, my hands resting on his broad chest. “Jagger, my love for that man died years ago when I realized what a monster he was. He pulled the wool over my eyes on so many things, I felt like the ultimate idiot. I don’t think Calvin is actually capable of loving anybody. Maybe Kyra, but even that’s got an asterisk attached to it.”

“He never reached out from prison, did he?”

I lower my gaze. “He tried a couple of times. I rejected both calls and blocked the prison number altogether.”

“He should have gotten the hint then,” Jagger says.

“You showed him that tonight.” I giggle, my gaze softening as I peer deep into his eyes. “You saved me, Jag. You know that?”

He nods once. “Felt nice. Knight in shining armor.”

“Riding that magnificent steed.”

“Come here,” he says and pulls me closer. I straddle him, laughing as we kiss. He makes me feel soft, his hands roaming up and down my body, fingers searching for the hem of my shirt. “When I saw him grab you, I nearly lost my mind.”

“No, you did the right thing,” I tell him. “You protected me. You kept your word. All the way through and when it mattered the most.”

“I’ll admit, I was a little scared when I realized what was going on.”

“Scared?”

That’s a word I never thought I’d hear coming out of Jagger’s mouth. For as long as I’ve known him, he’s been a beacon of light and bravery, bold and maybe even reckless at times.

“Scared I might lose you. I don’t know. It was a crazy thought that crossed my mind for only a second that Calvin might rope you back in,” Jagger says.

I kiss him again deeply. “Feel this?” I ask, guiding his hand over my chest.

“It’s one of my favorite parts about you,” he jokes.

“Not my boobs,” I laugh. “But this…”

We sit still for a moment. I wait until he feels my frantic heartbeat. Our eyes meet, and the entire world comes to a sudden, decisive halt.

“Yeah, I feel it.”

“It beats like this for you, Jag. For you and Knox and Diesel. I never thought it would be possible, but here we are. Calvin is in the past, part of a lie I told myself would work. The only good thing that came out of that horrible mess is Kyra. She’s the only reason I don’t regret any of it. Just her.”

“It made you stronger, Robyn. A hard lesson, learned the hard way.”

“True. But ultimately, it led me to you and the guys. Everything we are today was built on who we were yesterday. Calvin hasn’t changed at all. He’s still garbage.” I smile down at him. “So, no, Jagger. I feel nothing for that man. Not love, not longing, nothing. You…” I pause as his fingers splay, and he kneads my breast through the shirt and bra. “You, on the other hand…”

A grin slits across his face, making my skin tingle all over. “Losing your words there, darlin’?”

“You’re making it hard for me to focus.”

“And you’re making me hard—period.”

I feel him huge and stiff between my legs. There are too many layers between us. One by one, they come off as we devour one another. We kiss like ravenous beasts, losing our minds and our clothes.

He throws me onto the sofa, groaning harshly as he dives face first into my pussy. I whimper as his tongue slides between my wet folds, hands fiercely kneading my breasts. I run my fingers over his muscular shoulders, melting against his lips as he licks me out of this world. He suckles on my clit, and I feel his right hand retreating somewhere between us.

“Oh, fuck,” I moan as his fingers penetrate me.

Two, at first.

Then, three.

“You’re mine,” Jagger says, looking up at me as he drinks me whole.

“I’m yours.”

We both hear the front door open, but neither of us moves.

“I see you got started without us,” Knox declares.

I glance back to find him and Diesel walking into the living room. Their jackets hit the floor. Their boots and shirts follow. There’s no time for a slow-burning foreplay. The hunger in their eyes tells me it’s about to get wild fast. And I welcome the madness.

“Come here,” I tell them. “I need you. All three of you… OH!”

Jagger finger-fucks me like a savage, resuming his torment of my swollen, tender clit. I’m slick and primed and ready for more as Diesel and Knox join us. They flank me, offering me their cocks, and I take them.

Firmly wrapping my fingers around each hard base, I guide them to my mouth in turns.

They kiss me. They tease me.

They pinch my nipples until the sting spreads through my core, culminating in a gushing orgasm as Jagger suckles my clit. I come hard, crying out in sheer ecstasy.

“You’re safe with us,” Knox says to me as I ride him first.

Jagger gets behind me and joins him inside. Before long, I lose my mind as Diesel deep-throats me with his monstrous cock, casting every thought out of my head. All I can think about is how many times I can come before I pass out again.

Yet there’s also a tenderness, a soft shadow that falls over us and wraps the four of us in a peculiar kind of warmth as our bodies become intertwined. Jagger pounds into me, harder and faster.

“Come for me, baby,” Knox beckons me as I grind against his groin. He’s buried so deep inside me. “Give me everything, Robyn.”

“You have everything,” I moan harshly.

“Do I have your love?” he asks.

“You all have it,” I reply and desperately reach for Diesel. He gives me his cock again, and I almost swallow him whole, tears trickling down my cheeks as I’m filled to the brim, stretched beyond belief.

“Good,” Jagger whispers and bites into the back of my neck.

My cries are muffled as they take me.

As they claim me.

Over and over, I come. My pussy clenches tightly as they finish inside me. I feel the hot jets spurting, the pulses of their magnificent cocks. I taste Diesel’s seed before I swallow it, welcoming every drop without a care in the world.
