EMIL

My guilty conscience only started developing when I met Fia, and now alarms are chiming, telling me to come clean.

I turn to her in the backseats of the car, exhaling a deep breath, ready to tell her the reason why we got married, when she dives into my lap and slides her tongue all the way into my mouth.

“Fuck, Fia,” I grunt, coming up for air.

“Don’t speak.” She clamps her hand over my mouth, staring deep into my eyes. “We’ve been doing that all night and I’m exhausted. How about we do something better, and you show me how obsessed you are with me.”

“Your wish is my command, spitfire,” I grunt, torn between desire and responsibility.

But Fia licks her tongue back into my mouth, responsibility disappearing with the city skyline. The car shoots back into the forest, darkness blanketing us in every direction.

I shove her down, laying her across the backseats. The driver gets the hint and activates the divider. Only when it’s fully up, do I hitch up her skirts, bunching them around her hips. I spread her legs as wide as my heart desires, petting her pussy in the back of the vehicle.

Moans ripple out of Fia’s mouth, the beautiful sounds wrapping around my cock, rendering it harder.

“You’re impatient,” I growl, trailing my finger through her wet folds. “What happened to you being able to keep your legs closed for a half hour car ride?”

“I started giving my body what it wants,” Fia moans. “We might not be in this situation if you knew how to look at me normally in public.”

“How was I looking at you, sweetheart?”

“Like you wanted to eat me and leave no crumbs for anyone else.”

“Believe me, spitfire,” I say. “I would eat you in front of the entire function, making everyone else watch, if consequences didn’t exist. Too many men were looking at you like they had a right to do so.

Perhaps in another life, one where I’m not so protective, I would invite everyone to watch us fuck, showing the world how powerful we are together,” I say, stroking her pussy, keeping her on the edge.

“That being said, in every life, this one and the next, I have a duty to protect you, to keep you safe. And this body,” I say, sliding some fingers into her entrance. “Only gets to be touched by me.”

Fia whimpers, buckling her hips.

I undo my belt, perching between her legs. Her sweet scent permeates the air, causing my head to spin. Consciousness drains from my body, the world narrowed down to this one, singular moment where my only purpose is to please my wife.

I replace the fingers with my cock, her walls instantly wrapping around me, creating a dragging sensation each time I thrust. She holds onto me with everything she has, fingernails digging into my shoulders and pussy clenched around my length.

It finally feels like we’re collaborating as a team, battling the forces of nature together. Fuck Luka and the rest of my Bratva. Fia is the only partner-in-crime I’ve ever needed.

I slide a hand over her baby bump. Alexander will be dead when the twins are born. Nobody wants the bastard dead more than we do.

She knew information that could have cost Alexander everything, which is exactly why she was hit. Someone out there is terrified of Fia recovering her memories, which means they could be planning another car hit.

And after seeing Chloe waltz into the gala this evening uninvited, my money is on the friend.

“Fuck,” moans Fia, chasing her high. “Faster.”

My spitfire is insatiable, wanting more, not just in the bedroom, but in all areas of life. She can never settle, constantly on the hunt for more and wanting all of her questions answered.

And as her devoted husband, I will answer all her questions. Losing her doesn’t have to be scary. It might set us back a few steps, but our gravitational pull will always be stronger than her hatred.

Fia allows herself to part around me, her eyes shutting in ecstasy as I send her into that euphoric state reserved for just the two of us. No other man on this earth has what it takes to send her there.

I finish inside of her, reaching over to plant a chaste kiss to her cheek.

Fia gasps, rolling her skirts back down between the backseats. She pushes herself up into a seated position, her back resting against the door. Catching my eyes, she whispers, “I think I love you too, even though nothing makes sense.”

“Even now?” I frown, capturing her gaze through the darkness.

A car appears from the other direction, the face illuminated in the headlights as it passes. Her face is full of confusion, her lips puckered, her eyebrows drawn together.

“You’re evil, and yet my body craves you like a drug.”

“Not all drugs have to be bad, sweetheart.”

“I disagree.”

“This could be your way of understanding the past,” I suggest, nudging closer. “Perhaps my dark side sparked your curiosity, and after a taste, you discovered that evil can take many different forms. Not all evil wants to hurt you.”

Our conversation is interrupted by the driver as he kills the engine, letting us know we arrived back home.

I open the car, grabbing Fia’s side, helping her out. She looks at my hand with confusion, accepting me anyway.

After slapping a couple hundred bucks in the driver’s hand, Fia and I walk up the driveway holding hands. I unlock the door, the old wood creaking on the hinges.

Fia steps in willingly, walking through the dark house like she’s no longer afraid.

I finally have her back and I may lose her a dozen times more, but to have her in my arms again makes the chase worth it.

And I could well be chasing for the rest of my life.

But none of that matters. I’ll play this tug of war game with the universe forever if that’s what it takes to have these moments of solace where everything feels aligned, even if it is only temporary.
