6. Chapter 5

Thunder – A Week Later

I turn my phone around in my hand as I stare at Axel's desk, and he leans back in his chair, waiting for me to get the balls to make the call I need to fucking make.

The fucker refuses to let me leave his office until I call my pres, and really, do I need to tell Doc that I have to have surgery?

“Come on, brother,” Axel goads, and I mock-glare his way and remind him, “My sister will storm this fucking clubhouse, one of the reasons why I didn’t want to tell my family to begin with!” and the fucker just shrugs.

“She’s your sister, I wouldn’t expect it any other way,” he says, “Doc is ready to drag you back to Wincher, and you’ve made it perfectly clear that you want our Doc to do the surgery.

Your family will be pissed because they had no idea you were in this type of pain to begin with.

As much as you don’t want your sister to try and take over, you know if you have this surgery and don’t tell her, she’ll be hurt. ”

I groan as I drop my head back, and Axel laughs like a fucker just as my phone rings, and he says, “Answer it, brother,” and I mock-glare his way again as I check the ID before answering, “Pres,” and I put my phone on loudspeaker out of respect.

“Fucker!” Doc snaps, and Axel grins wide. “You were supposed to be home months ago, and I sent you to Axel to help with his traitor, and you still are not back, and I’ve had enough!”

I smirk and ask, “What did Brit steal this time?” and Axel raises a brow, waiting for Doc's answer.

I’m not an officer, brother, I’m just a patched brother, and I didn’t always attend the runs.

There has to be a reason why he’s on my case, and frustration fucking pours from the line.

Him snapping has to have something to do with Brittany, who did threaten to bring more animals home when I last spoke to her.

“A fucking pygmy goat,” he grits, and my mouth drops just as Axel's pen hits the desk.

“How in the fuck did she manage that?” Axel splutters while I just gape.

A fucking pygmy goat, seriously?

“I don’t even fucking know!” he snaps. “When she admitted to what she did while the thing ran around the common room, I told Stone to figure it out and stormed into my fucking office. I’m pretty sure I heard the fucker laugh!”

Shit.

“Dogs, cats, heck even a rabbit, sure, but fucking goats?” Axel chokes and my body shakes as silent laughter fills me when he grunts, “Fuck I’m glad Annie never thought to steal animals.”

“I swear to God, if you are laughing, Thunder, I’m going to shoot your ass,” Doc threatens, and my laughter breaks out, causing Axel to laugh along with me.

A fucking goat!

My laughter doubles as I picture the brothers chasing the thing, and Doc growls on the other end.

“Stop laughing, fucker, this is your fault!” Doc snaps, “You need to get on your bike and come fucking home!”

My laughter dies down as I lock eyes with Axel, who winces, and I sigh.

“What?” Doc demands, “What am I missing here? You got the traitor right?”

“We got the traitor,” Axel confirms, “Sophie is currently seeking therapy to help with her need to always be right since losing her mama. Ink had looked into a separation agreement, that scared the fuck out of her…but...”

Axel raises a brow at me as Doc demands, “But what?”

“But I need surgery, and I don’t want you doing it,” I admit, and Doc quiets for a moment before demanding coldly, “Fucking explain!”

Shit.

Clearing my throat, I lock eyes with Axel, and I admit, “I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder, and Hawk’s dad said I’ve gone too long without treatment.” Doc cuts me off and confirms, “He needs to intervene surgically?”

“Yeah,” I admit, then confess, “I also need a nerve graft in my knee…”

I wince as Doc curses up a storm just as I hear, “Asher? Is everything alright?!”

“Not fucking now, Brit!” he snaps in return, and fuck, even Axel’s eyes widen.

“Fuck Doc, she’s going to bring several animals home for that,” I choke, and he growls, “I don’t give a fucking shit, you’ve just told me you need surgery, Bradley!”

Oh shit, he called me my legal name, he’s pissed…

“Wait, what do you mean he needs surgery?” Brit shouts, and I groan.

Fuck’s sake.

“All those times you’ve been snappy, or not yourself, you were in more pain than I thought, weren’t you?!” Doc demands, ignoring my sister, fury lacing his tone.

“Why do I have a feeling your clubhouse is about to be bombarded?” I mutter to Axel, and he looks everywhere but at me, knowing I’m right, the fucker.

“We’ll be there this evening, I just need to call Dad and speak to Mama,” Brit says, and I snap, “No!” causing Axel to wince while Doc and Brit go quiet.

I don’t want Kathleen here, fuck, I don’t even know why I call her my mama when she didn’t want me.

“Fuck’s sake, that fucking goat pissed on my bed!” I hear Trigger shout, but I don’t laugh even though I really want to. Even Axel is biting his lip to stop his from escaping.

As soon as we laugh, Brit will flip.

“Why don’t you want us coming?” Brit asks quietly, hurt lacing her tone, and I mutter, “I don’t mind you and Doc, little sister, as long as you keep out of my medical care. I mean, you keep your mouth shut and allow Dr. Thomas to do his thing, but Mama, I don’t want her here.”

“Brittany!” I hear Trigger shout before he asks, “What’s going on? What’s with the sour faces?”

“Thunder needs surgery,” Doc admits, and I slowly close my eyes as he explains, “All the times the fucker hurt himself to keep the club together, he ended up causing nerve damage. The pain is too much for him to handle now. So, surgery is the only solution.”

“Three, two, one,” I mouth just as Trigger snaps, “I’m packing a fucking bag, Mama can have the kids!” and Axel grins wide while I shake my head.

“Axel, set up rooms for at least four brothers. I'll try to limit the fuckers because there will be a lot of angry family members. Stone will be staying to take care of the club.”

“Done,” Axel replies without hesitation, and Doc snaps, “Get ready to have your ass kicked, brother!” before hanging up, and I mock-glare at Axel again, who just laughs, and I shake my head as I drop my phone on his desk then slowly rub my thumb over my bottom lip.

“You think your Doc could–”

He cuts me off and denies, “He can’t fit you in for surgery until next week, so don’t even think about swinging it before your brothers arrive.”

Well, I didn’t think of that, but it’s a shame he can’t fit me in earlier.

I smirk and continue, “Actually, I was wondering if he could get me Dr. Aimes’ number,” and the man grins.

“I fucking knew you wanted her,” he cackles, and I don’t even deny it.

Her dark blue eyes, fuck, they are all I can see.

After I left Doc's office, I tried to find her, but I couldn’t. By the time I circled back to Doc, he’d been called into the ER, and I’m done waiting to try and find her.

“You sure you want to try and claim her with your family about to storm the place?” Axel asks, and I smirk, not shocked that he’s picked up the fact that I will claim this girl.

As soon as we locked eyes, I knew she was mine, and I would tear out all the nerves in my body if it meant she’d be mine.

“Now is probably the perfect time,” I mention, and Axel narrows his eyes.

“No fucked up plans to win her over fucker!” he snaps with authority only a president can do. I grin wide, causing him to groan, just as a knock sounds and I lift my head back as Dagger walks inside, the Untamed’s VP.

“Finally tell your Doc about your surgery?” the fucker says, and I roll my eyes and confirm, “Let me guess, Brit has called the women?”

He grins wide, confirming my question, and Axel laughs just as a prospect whose name I cannot fucking remember pops his head inside the office and says, “Yo, Thunder, there’s a kid here asking for an out-of-towner. He’s in the common room.”

I frown as Axel demands, “What do you mean, a kid, Andy?”

Ah, his name is Andy.

The short fucker with tattoos all over his face shrugs and says, “Like I said, a kid. Apparently, the out-of-towner was with Doc, and the president of this MC and I couldn’t find Doc to confirm. I figured I’d get you instead and obviously I can’t leave a small child by the gate.”

What the fuck?

My frown deepens, I grab my phone and stand, then walk past the prospect, Axel and Dagger following me. We head into the large, rustic common room with murals painted by Star on the walls that are fucking amazing.

I raise a brow, seeing a kid with black hair and the same eyes as Dr. Aimes standing bravely next to another prospect despite the brothers looking at him.

He’s related to the woman I know I want that is for sure. The eyes are unmistakable, and right now, I’m thinking maybe this is her kid. Fuck, I’m not unhappy about it, but what I am unhappy about is the potential fucking father.

“What’s your name, kid?” I ask, and the kid eyes me up, which has me biting back a smirk as he replies, “My name is Sammie. Are you the out-of-towner?”

I feel the movement behind, but the kid keeps eye contact with me. Pride hits me that this kid is standing up to a biker, and yeah, my ego is climbing because the woman he’s here about has clearly spoken about me to someone.

Now the question is, is he her kid and is there a dad involved that I may need to kill?

I tilt my head and confirm, “I am, the name is Thunder,” then I ask, “What can I do for you, Sammie?”

He eyes me up again, then states, “I’m here about my Auntie Scottie!”

Hmm, so no dad to kill then.

“Is that so?” I confirm as Axel stands beside me, and I side-eye the man, only to see him smiling softly.

“Sammie, long time no see buddy,” he says, and the kid gives Axel a head nod before focusing back on me.

“She's never liked a boy before. The last boyfriend she had was my daddy,” he admits, and I raise a brow at that because what the fuck?

He calls her auntie yet… Fuck I’m confused.
