16. Chapter 15

Scottie

I chew my bottom lip as I look up the stairs, the nightlight shining, Sammie’s door just visible where he’s currently asleep with Felix. Worry has hit me hard.

Bradley said he’d be home for dinner and would message or call at each stop on his first club run since his surgery, so I didn’t worry. But it’s been radio silent for hours, and he isn’t home.

I begin to pace again as I grip my phone in my hand, the urge to call Megan or Annie at a high.

Surely if he was hurt, Axel would have called, right? Or Dr. Thomas?

Maybe he’s just lost his phone, and that’s why he’s gone silent?

Or maybe he’s in a ditch dead somewhere?

Oh crap…

“Okay, calm down, Scottie. Give him five more minutes and then –”

My words are cut off as a rumble of pipes echoes and I slowly close my eyes as the panic slowly fades.

Relief hits me before the rumbles cut off and I stop my pacing as I stare at the front door.

Within seconds, it opens and the love of my life walks in and I go to smile seeing he’s here despite being angry that he didn’t call.

My smile quickly fades as my eyes go to the blood dripping down his arm and shock hits me.

He, I mean, there’s…

“Treasure,” Bradley grunts as he shuts the door, getting me out of my shock, and my panic hits tenfold as I throw my phone on the couch and run towards him. My hands instantly going to his arm, and I choke, seeing a hole filled with blood.

He’s been shot.

“I’m alright, baby,” he says softly, but I shake my head as I feel around his injury, only to feel the lump, and my tears fall as I choke, “You still have a bullet in your arm. Why didn’t Dr. Thomas remove it and stitch it up?!”

“Because I knew this would distract you from killing me for not answering my phone,” he admits, and I glare at him as I press down harder on his wound and he chokes out a laugh.

“You purposely ignored my calls?!” I grit, and he smiles at me, making me want to throat-punch him.

He was shot, and he purposely ignored my calls?

That’s it, I’m burying him in the yard after tearing his balls from his body! His tombstone will state, Here lies Bradley, a jackass who didn’t answer his phone!

“Hey, now, get that murderous look off your face, I’m injured,” he tries, and I hiss, “Maybe you’ll die from the blood loss, and I can bury you!”

“You love me,” he reminds me, and I snap, “Not right now, I don’t!” before I grab his good arm and drag him upstairs towards the master bathroom, and fury builds up in my chest.

“Purposely ignoring my calls, purposely not seeking medical attention after being shot just so I won’t be mad!” I mumble, “Jackass!”

“I love you too, baby,” he says softly, and I flare my nostrils.

“And I’m guessing I’m not allowed to know who shot you?” I snap as I shove him into our room, and he admits, “Normally I wouldn’t be able to explain, but I think you have a right to know Dino followed us and aimed solely at me.”

I spin as we walk into the bathroom and look his way in shock. He leans against the counter and crosses his arms over his chest, but winces, and I snap out of my shock and quickly grab my medical kit from the cabinet.

“Apparently he saw you as his, and I was in his way. Treasure, you were very lucky, he was one of the men that raped Summer,” he says, and my eyes instantly tear up as my mouth parts.

Bradley told me about the Pillars and what happened to Anchor's old lady and goodness...

“He’s dead?” I confirm, and Bradley nods once, and I take a deep breath before moving over to him to check his arm again, feeling around for the bullet that is clearly stuck in the muscle.

“I should be able to get the bullet out with tweezers, but I don’t have any anesthetic.

I’d call it karma for allowing me to worry about you for hours then waiting for me to fix your arm like an ass,” I grumble and the man snorts as he gently grips my hips with both hands and I lean against him as I grab the tweezers and without a though.

I find the bullet with my finger then dig the tweezers inside his flash and he grunts as his grip tightens.

“I thought doctors were supposed to be gentle?” he grunts, and I snap, “Not for the love of their lives that get hurt then ignore their calls!”

“Love you too,” he groans as I dig into his arm, and I growl, “Shut up,” making him choke out a laugh.

I manage to grip the bullet, and I slowly pull it out before chucking it and the tweezers in the sink. I quickly grab some antiseptic wipes, and Bradley groans loudly while I smirk.

“I can’t believe you’re enjoying this,” he huffs, and I retort, “I can’t believe you ignored my calls and didn’t get a bullet taken out!”

“You know I’m not sleeping on the couch, right?” he says, and I raise a brow as I press the wipes on his wound, and he hisses, his grip becoming bruising, but I just smirk.

“I love you,” I sass, and he mock-glares at me before pressing his lips against mine then leans back slightly.

“I know you’re letting your anger out because if you don’t then you’ll cry. I’m sorry for that,” he says softly and I flare my nostrils as I wipe around the wound then grab my needle and thread and he huffs, “Fuck me this is going to hurt,” and I can’t even hide my flinch even if I wanted to.

Ignoring his words, I pinch his skin, then, trying to ignore his flinching, I stitch up the small bullet wound, not letting my head run wild on the what ifs.

“Treasure,” Bradley says softly, but I ignore him as I tie a knot, and he says more firmly, “Treasure,” and I throw the needle in the sink as the first sob leaves me, and Bradley doesn’t hesitate to pull me into his chest, and I grip his cut as my tears pour.

He was shot.

“I’m alright, baby,” he whispers as he runs his fingers through my hair, then grips it. “I didn’t answer my phone because I knew I couldn’t lie to you, but I promise I am okay. I’m here.”

“Please don’t make this a habit,” I cry, and he holds me tighter and promises, “I won’t, it was just one of those freak things, and no, before you even think of blaming yourself, this isn’t your fault. It’s that fuckers, not yours.”

I press my face further into his chest and inhale, his musky smell hitting me, calming me though my tears still fall.

This man is my universe, and if anything, tonight has proved I can’t live six hours away from him, but I also can’t expect him to leave his family.

The idea of running away with Sammie to Wincher hits, and I squeeze my eyes tight.

“Shower with me,” Bradley whispers, unaware of my horrible thoughts of kidnapping my sister’s son even if she never sees him, and I pull back slightly. “Sammie is asleep and won’t wake up until morning, shower with me, baby.”

“I just stitched your arm…” I choke, and he smiles as he cups my cheek and wipes away my tears.

“They’re waterproof, right?” he confirms, and I nod but mention, “They can’t be drenched.”

“Okay, I’ll make sure to keep them out of the water,” he murmurs, then gently caresses my lips and demands more firmly, “Shower with me!”

I lift my arms without hesitation, and he smiles as he gently grabs the bottom of his shirt that I stole the first time we slept together and lifts it above my head before dropping it on the floor, and he groans as he takes in my body.

“Fuck, I love it when you only wear my clothes,” he husks and my lips twitch as I grip his cut then ever so slowly, move it past his shoulders and down his arms. Aware of his injury, I go carefully, before placing it on the counter and he grins at me showing his club respect.

You never put a brother’s cut on the ground and I grab his shirt next and lift it, showing his ripped body and I pull it over his head and throw it on the floor.

“I can’t wait to fuck you wearing nothing but my property patch,” he murmurs as he stands straight and my hands go to his jeans.

“You’re claiming me, huh?” I choke, and he smirks as he lifts his left hand and my eyes go to a tattoo that wasn’t there when he left this morning.

Scottie

“Well,” I choke, keeping my eyes on the large, bold ink, “you’ve already claimed me.”

“That I have, baby, and your cut is already being made,” he admits softly, and I nod as my eyes tear up before I gently push his jeans down, trying to get my emotions under control.

I help him remove his boots and socks before pulling his jeans off then ever so slowly I run my hands up his legs.

I fist his cock and stroke it causing him to groan but he soon grips my hair when I slowly lick the tip, tasting his precum.

I moan and suck all of him, deep throating him, causing his grip in my hair to tighten.

The urge to gag hits, and I quickly swallow like he taught me before moving my head, bobbing it. I keep sucking his cock, loving his taste, loving the musky smell that is all him.

His breathing quickens as I cup his balls and roll them before suddenly, he grips under my arms and lifts me with ease, and I gasp, “Your arm –”

He cuts me off and husks, “Is fine,” as he forces me to wrap my legs around his body and he walks into the shower, pushing me up against the wall as he thrusts inside me, then turns on the shower and I gasp at how cold it is, and he chuckles.

“The water is freezing, how are you still hard?” I choke and he caresses my lips and murmurs, “Because this is what you do to me, I always want you,” just as the water begins to warm and I press my lips against his harder, forcing my tongue into his mouth, tangling it with his.

He groans into my mouth and begins to thrust into me slowly but hard, a gentle rhythm.

He is making love to me against the shower wall and I know I’m going to try everything I can to keep this man, even if it means kidnap.

Bradley is my forever, and I won’t lose my forever.
