30. Chapter 29
Scottie – A Week Later
“I love my new school, Auntie Scott, everyone is so nice,” Sammie says as I help him out of my car, and I grin wide despite the concern hitting me, and I eye the area.
“That’s perfect, buddy,” I say, my eyes still looking around the clubhouse.
Bikes are parked up, some brothers here while I know Bradley is at work, or well, he was until I messaged him with panic.
Pulling up to the clubhouse gates I was exhausted picking Sammie up from school after a twenty-six-hour shift because of course the ER was busy after a train collision.
I didn’t expect for the prospect on the gate to explain a female family member has come to see me and Sammie, telling him that she wanted to surprise us.
He thought I should know so I’m not blindsided after he heard that I’m slowly trying to reconnect with my family and my gut twists.
I tried ringing my brother, but there was no answer, and the same with my mama, so I messaged Bradley, who explained that Stone is inside and mentioned it was apparently my mama, but something doesn’t feel right.
Only Doc and Shadow have met my sister, but surely she wouldn’t have found us?
“Come on, Auntie Scott,” Sammie says and runs towards the clubhouse, and I swallow thickly, finally noticing mama’s car, and I take a deep breath, and despite my gut still twisting, I head towards the clubhouse.
Over the past week, Bradley, Sammie and I have begun a really nice routine, we have family time and discuss our days.
We’re happy, content even, so maybe that is why my gut is twisting.
I don’t want Mama to put a dent in my happiness, especially if Rachel, who we haven’t heard from, had gotten in her ear.
When I last spoke to Lo, Rachel had apparently attacked his new girlfriend, Mandy. She was pissed that he got to move on while she’s struggling with having her accounts emptied by her husband, who left her.
Lo mentioned she didn’t take the news of Kavan's disappearance well and even dared to blame me. To be fair, I am part of the reason why he’s gone, but she doesn’t have the right reason.
We walk into the clubhouse, and Sammie jumps down the steps like always, his sole focus on Lilly, who adores him. My eyes widen when my sister grabs him and yanks her to him before holding a knife to his throat.
Crap, she stole Mama’s car...
Chairs scrape as Stone snaps, “What kind of grandmother grabs hold of a child then puts knife to his throat?!”
Is it bad that Stone thinks Rachel looks old enough to be Mama's age? Yes, yes it is, but do I find it funny? Hell yes.
“I’m not his grandmother, I’m his mother,” Rachel sneers, “I’m taking him home.”
“No!” Sammie cries, trying to struggle against her, and I descend the stairs causing her to dig the knife into his neck and I freeze.
“Come any closer, and I will kill him!” she threatens.
“He’s your blood, Rachel!” I snap, and she spits, “And? So are you, and I want you dead!”
“Why, huh? All because I didn’t fall in line?” I growl and take another step forward before a hand grabs my arm, and I side-eye Ashley, Triggers old lady.
“You got your dreams, you got everything!” she screams, and I shout, “And you got a finance free life. You screwed my first ever boyfriend then married him as revenge, yet you don’t see me acting crazy!” her nostrils flare and I demand, “Let him go!”
“No!” she spits, “I’m taking my son home then putting him in an orphanage, you are not having him!”
I breathe heavy as I side-eye Ashley again and she nods, knowing I need to tackle her, but we need a distraction.
The best thing about the Rebel’s old ladies – they accepted Sammie and me into the fold, heck, they all scolded Brit for how she treated me, meaning they’ll do anything to help us.
“I heard your husband left you high and dry.” Ashley goads, gaining Rachel’s attention, and I hear Trigger snap, “Fuck,” knowing she’s going to help me, and I know he won’t get involved while she’s helping me.
“He’s just taking some time!” Rachel lies, her arm dropping slightly, and I slowly move away from Ashley while my sister’s attention is on her.
“Funny, because didn’t he drain your accounts?
” she says, and Rachel gives me my opening as she holds the knife out but before I can move little Lilly kicks her.
Stone growls as Rachel turns and kicks Lilly who cries as she falls onto her side and Sammie bites his mother’s arm hard causing her to scream and throw him on the floor and I run.
I don’t think about my safety, instead I tackle my sister to the floor, both of us landing with a thud. My sister screams and Lilly’s crying bare the loudest sounds to be heard but I try to ignore everything as I lean up and punch my sister in the face.
She screams again before suddenly a sharp pain hits my side, and I gasp as I roll off my sister before suddenly she’s screaming, and Bradley is leaning over me, his hand going to my side, putting pressure.
“I-I think she-she sliced, not stabbed,” I stutter, and he growls as Sammie cries, “Auntie Scott,” just as my sister screams, “Get off me!”
“Y-you can’t kill her,” I gasp as Bradley presses further down on my wound and he grunts, “She’ll be locked up,” just as Sammie leans over me with Lilly holding his hand.
“I-I’m good buddy,” I say, and he nods despite his tears falling and trying to distract him while Rachel is being dragged out, I ask, “What-what tattoo you giving me?”
“A star,” he whispers, “because you are my star.”
Well damn.
My eyes tear up and I nod just as Stone says, “Come on kids, let Doc have a look.”
Sammie hesitates so I smile at him and encourage, “Why don’t you take Lilly to the kitchen for an ice pop? She got hurt, baby,” and he nods before kissing my head and then allows Stone to guide him away and I take a shuddered breath.
“Okay, so getting sliced hurts,” I rasp, and Ashley mutters, “Good punch though,” and I laugh that turns into a wince at the pain.
“Watch out, brother,” Doc says and Bradley moves to my other side, his eyes going to my blood on his hand and his breathing picks up before he booms, “How in the fuck did she get passed the gate!” anger etching off him.
“She told the prospect she was my mama,” I breathe as Doc murmurs, “Thankfully it is superficial, but need some glue,” and I scrunch my nose up at that thought.
That’s going to be itchy.
“Handy let her in, he didn’t question when she told him she wanted to surprise Scottie,” Dirty snaps and I can feel Bradley’s fury, it’s choking me.
“Bradley, I’m fine, Sammie and Lilly are fine,” I try to reassure but the asshole snaps, “You’re pregnant Scottie!”
“I’m sorry, what?” Ashley gasps, “If I knew you were pregnant, I would never –”
I cut her off and state, “I’m not pregnant, I’m on the pill.”
Bradley freezes for a moment, then looks at me as everyone quiets while Doc slowly helps me stand and I grunt at the pain, but I ignore it as I stare at Bradley whose throat bobs.
“Oh fuck,” I hear a clubwhore who shockingly has been extremely welcoming mutter and Bradley clears his throat.
“You haven’t had a period,” he tries, and my nostrils flare, already understanding what this jackass has done.
“I started a new form of contraception, missed periods happen, so try again, Bradley,” I snap and he nervously rubs the back of his neck.
“I-I swapped your birth control pills for vitamins two months before we first slept together,” he admits quietly, and a few throats being cleared echo. I know it’s the brothers trying not to chuckle while sirens echo in the distance and I know they’re here for my sister.
“And the pills Dr. Thomas gave me?” I ask coldly, and he confesses, “Vitamins.”
I’m going to kill him, then bury him in the yard and ensure Felix pisses on his grave.
“Uh, brother, I’d step back if I –”
Whoever was speaking cuts off their own words as I swing a punch at my husband who quickly ducks, just missing being hit and Doc catches me around the waist. I nearly fall and he holds me back when I try to attack my husband whose eyes are wide.
“Let go of me, I’m going to kill him and bury him in the yard!” I shout, and someone mutters, “I didn’t hear anything.”
“He messed with her birth control, Chief,” I hear as I struggle against Doc, who grunts, “Scottie your wound.”
“Well, that would explain it,” I hear before the man grunts, “Thunder has a habit of being an idiot.”
“Treasure, you are tearing your wound even more, and you need to think about the baby,” Bradley snaps and I narrow my eyes as I pause and it’s only then that I notice the throbbing pain in my side and I take a few deep breaths to hide my wince.
“Doc,” I state coldly, and he clears his throat and asks, “Yeah?”
“Thunder is not to enter my exam room,” I snap, and Bradley glares at me using his road name, but I don’t care. “He also is to stay here until I say so!”
“Fuck, I like her, she’s hitting him where it hurts most,” I hear and Doc winces then agrees, “Alright, but I need to do a full check, you know you are still at high risk because of your concussion.”
“Fine!” I snap before I turn to the door and see a man in uniform, and I state, “I want her locked up, not killed!” and the man nods, a smirk lacing his lips and I shove Doc away. I glare at Bradley then I storm past him and he isn’t stupid enough to grab me.
“Stupid, biker, controlling alpha hole who needs a big smack across his head,” I mutter as I walk out of the common room and towards Doc and Tank's medical room that they showed me around, trying to ignore the blood dripping down my side, “Just you wait Bradley, I know the Untamed and you are going to regret this!”
Laughter echoes, people obviously hearing me and Bradley groans, “Fuck, she’s going to make sure Demon shits in my boots, isn’t she?”
“Yes, yes I am,” I mutter as I walk into the medical room and grab the saline ready for Doc and I begin to plan my revenge.
Don’t get me wrong, yes, I want Bradley’s babies, I want loads of them if my body will allow me because that man is my present, future and ending. But not like this, not straight after adopting Sammie and now Bradley will pay and Felix will become his main torment!
