Chapter 10
Watching Harvest in her element made me proud and my dick hard.
She didn’t need any direction from the photographer; she just did her, and he let her.
Harvest was naturally beautiful, but the way she had done her hair and makeup made her look like a true goddess.
I was serious when I told her I wanted some of the pictures.
I had the perfect place in my office and in my room for at least two of them.
No matter what happened, I would have her picture in multiple places in my house. Weird, maybe, but I didn’t care.
“Are you hungry?” I asked Harvest as we left the location.
“Starved. You probably didn’t notice, but I don’t eat much the day before or the morning of a photo shoot.”
“Why is that?” I rested my hand on her thigh while I used my other hand to steer the car.
After Noah dropped Harvest off, he brought the car to me, then went about his day.
I wanted to take her to the shoot, but I had to handle some business.
I had a meeting with the singer we’d seen at the concert, but she said she needed to talk to her family first. She also wanted someone to look over the contract I offered her.
I was impressed that she didn’t just jump at the opportunity.
That was even more of a reason that I wanted her to sign.
I’d come across people who wanted to automatically sign, just because I wanted them to, without reading anything.
I wasn’t the type to dick people, but it was important for a person to read over any type of contract, especially when it dealt with large amounts of money.
“Because even though I’m a bigger model, I don’t like to look bloated, and too much food makes me look bloated. I try to keep things light.”
“That makes sense, but you’ll look good, bloated and all.” I glanced at her and squeezed her thigh.
“You really be laying it on thick, don’t you?”
“Stating facts. Where do you want to get something from?”
“Somewhere with a burger, fries, and a soda.”
“I got you.”
I drove to a drive-through that wasn’t far from her hotel. We could get the food, eat in her room, then head to my suite. I had plans for the night, but I wanted us to relax together until then.
“How was your day?” Harvest inquired.
“My day was kind of boring. A few meetings. The chick from the concert is considering signing.”
Harvest squealed and clapped her hands. Her face beamed like it was the best news she’d heard all day.
“That’s what’s up, Boston. I hope she does. I think she’ll be a good fit for you, and I know you can help her career excel.”
Hearing that Harvest thought so highly of me made me sit up a little taller in my seat. I felt like I was on top of the world.
“You believe in me like that?” I asked, not because I doubted myself, but because Ivy didn’t always have that much confidence in me.
“I do. Don’t act like you aren’t that dude, Boston. Everyone you have signed has had multiple number one hits. Don’t get me started on the multiple awards and album sales.”
We stopped at a red light, and I turned to face Harvest. I was impressed that she knew all those things.
“Look at you keeping up with me. I knew we were meant to be,” I joked.
“Please.” Harvest sucked her teeth. “More like whatever was in the drinks we had that night forced us together.”
I put my hand on my chest and looked at her with wide eyes just as the light turned green.
“Damn. Here I thought we were in this together. It wasn’t the liquor for me.”
We arrived at the food joint, and I placed our orders, then pulled up to the next window. I looked over at Harvest to hear what she had to say.
She looked out the window, even though I knew that she knew I was looking at her. I reached over and tickled her side. She tried her best not to laugh but failed.
“Okay. Okay. I mean, it was the liquor because I would never have married a stranger, no matter how fine and paid he was. But I guess the decision wasn’t too bad.” She playfully rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, aight.” I moved up in line to pay and get our food.
As soon as I passed Harvest the food, she pulled out a couple of fries.
“I know you ain’t eating any of my fries.”
“I just might be.” She shoved a few more fries in her mouth, then laughed.
“I got something for you.”
Harvest giggled, then put a couple of fries in my mouth. We continued sharing the fries until we got to her hotel room. Once we were in her room, we finished our food, then she packed some clothes. I needed to convince her to stay with me the rest of her time here.
Once we left her room, we went back to my suite where we chilled for a while before heading to our date for the night.
After we rested for a while in my suite, we had dinner, then went on a helicopter tour ride.
The strip looked so much better and alive from the sky.
I wouldn’t have cared if we flew over an empty desert; I just wanted Harvest to enjoy herself.
She deserved to be celebrated after having an amazing photo shoot. She was just an amazing person period.
“This is amazing.” Harvest gushed as we flew over the Vegas strip.
She looked out the window so she couldn’t see that I had my eyes on her. I reached for her hand, and she briefly looked my way with a smile that lit up the night and made my heart skip a beat.
“You are amazing, Harvest. On some real shit.”
She looked at me again, and I noticed the wetness in her eyes. I swiped a tear that had fallen down her cheek.
“Thank you. You don’t understand how much that means to me.”
“I mean it too.”
I hated to be that guy that compared women, but Harvest and Ivy were two different people.
The energy was different when I was around Harvest. I felt like I was at peace.
It didn’t feel performative like it did with Ivy.
Ivy liked to post everything on social media.
The only thing Harvest had posted on her page since she’d been in Vegas was a couple of pictures with her friends when they first arrived, and a picture from her photo shoot.
She didn’t brag or boast that she was with me, even though I wouldn’t care if she did.
I wanted everyone to know that she was my wife, but I didn’t want to jump the gun, just in case.
If anyone looked at her page, they wouldn’t know that we’d been spending time together.
I hadn’t posted anything on mine either, but I never really did anyway.
I tried to stay off there as much as possible because I knew people were probably still talking about my failed wedding.
I only knew Harvest posted because I had my notifications set to whenever she was online.
The picture from her shoot had numerous likes and men in her comments.
I wanted to say something to shut all that shit down but refrained.
I didn’t even like the picture because people always noticed the smallest shit.
It wouldn’t be the first time I liked one of her pictures, but it had been a while since I had.
From a single like, and the fact that we both were in Vegas, people would have automatically put us together.
Our tour only lasted thirty minutes, then we headed back to my suite. I drove us for the night since Noah wanted to go out; plus, I just wanted us to have some privacy.
“If you could have one dream shoot and work with one photographer, where and who would you pick?” I asked Harvest as I drove.
Harvest shifted in her seat, so she was facing me. “That’s easy. America, and the Grand Canyon.”
“Oh, word? Why those two?”
I listened intently to why she chose the two things she picked. I knew America, so as soon as I could, I would message her to see if she was available while Harvest was still in Vegas. Even if it didn’t happen this time, I was determined to make it happen for her.
Harvest didn’t know that I would make all her dreams come true if she allowed me to.
