Chapter 8

Chapter Eight

I’ve had good sex before. Great fucking sex.

Nothing compares to what last night was, though.

I left Molly’s room at midnight, came down to the casino floor, and walked the high-roller’s room before closing myself in my office.

I haven’t been able to get her out of my head.

I can still fucking taste her on my lips.

I went to her room with the intention of keeping my enemy close. And I may have wanted to see just how far she’d let me get before she kicked me out. To say I was surprised she didn’t would be an understatement.

I need to get her out of my head. I shouldn’t have had breakfast sent up to her room, and I really shouldn’t have the camera feed from outside her suite door up on my screen.

I saw her assistant enter her room. He has a fucking key.

Neither of them has left yet, and I can’t stop watching, just to get a glimpse of her again.

I’m supposed to be going over some accounts, not obsessing over a woman I left just hours ago.

I don’t obsess over women. I enjoy them and forget them.

Molly Olive isn’t just any woman, though.

No, she’s the one who’s trying to buy up properties on my fucking street so she can knock them down and rebuild her over-the-top shit.

By keeping an eye on her, I’ll be able to stay one step ahead.

At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.

When my eye catches movement on the screen, I turn and see her.

She’s wearing a light-pink dress, skin-fucking-tight with her tits popping out of the top of it.

Fuck me, she’s stunning. I don’t even think she tries to be, and yet she just is.

Her hair is down. Long brown waves frame her cheeks.

I want to wrap my hand around that hair and hold her face up towards mine.

Fuck, now my cock is hard again. The only reason I stopped last night and let her go to sleep was that I ran out of condoms. And no matter how much my dick wanted to stay buried inside her, I’m not stupid enough to do it bare.

Where is she going?

I watch as she enters the elevator. And I’m standing and walking out of my office before I can talk myself out of it. I head to where I know she’ll be exiting.

“I was just on my way to find you.” My cousins CJ and Elias stop in front of me just as I reach the lobby.

“Why?” I ask, keeping my eyes focused on where the traffic from the elevator exits.

“You were MIA last night. Where were you?” CJ questions.

“Busy.”

“Just busy? Doing what?” Elias asks with a tilt of his head.

“None of your fucking business,” I grunt out.

Why the fuck are these two assholes all up in my business?

I spot Molly walking out into the lobby with her assistant. Her eyes land on mine, and a small smile spreads across her lips before she schools her features and looks away.

“Ah, so not what but a who?” CJ says, following my line of sight.

“Fuck off.” I barge past both of them and head towards Molly. She’s already walking over to the exit. “Going somewhere?” I ask, stepping up next to her.

She gasps and blinks at me. “I’m sorry… Do I know you?”

“No. But I sure as fuck know you.” I smirk as I run my eyes over her body.

“Ah, Mol?” Her assistant looks between us.

“Angus, this is… Shit, I forgot your name. What was it again?” Molly eyes me expectantly.

“Alfie Giuliani.” I hold out a hand to her assistant.

“Angus,” he says, returning the gesture.

“It’s not going to work, you know,” I hum, my focus on Molly again.

“What’s not?”

“Wherever you’re going today, whoever you’re going to try to convince to sell you their properties, it won’t work.”

“And why’s that?”

“Because this is my city, sweetheart, and I’ve told them not to talk to you.”

“Well, sweetheart, you best get ready for disappointment, because I don’t lose. Ever,” she says to me with her back straight and her head held high. Much like it was last night… when she was naked in front of me.

I smirk. “Haven’t you heard?”

“Heard what?”

“This city was built on losers. The only winner in Vegas is the house. I’m the one currently sitting on the throne of this kingdom. There’s not a chance in hell that you can take it.”

“Hold on to that throne as tight as you can, big boy, because I’m coming to claim it.” Molly taps her flattened palm over my chest and smiles up at me. “Have a nice day, Mr. Giuliani.”

With that, I watch her walk away, her assistant following right alongside her.

“Who is she?” Elias asks, stepping up next to me.

“She is none of your fucking business.” I glare at him.

“Okay, let me rephrase the question: What exactly are you doing with Molly Olive?” he says with a smirk on his face. One I want to knock right off.

“I’m making sure she doesn’t come into this town and spread her brand of poison.”

“That all?” He raises a brow at me.

“What’s with the third degree, Elias?”

“Just want to make sure you’re not losing your touch, cousin.” He clasps a hand on my shoulder.

“Wait a minute… Why are you here?” Last I heard, he was back in Mexico with his family and my sister, who went and married his little brother. We might be cousins, but we’re not blood related. Our parents are just close friends.

“I missed your ass,” he says. “And Papa sent me to make sure that woman doesn’t get what she wants here.”

Molly is on my uncle’s radar. That’s not a good fucking thing. “Elias, let me be very clear. Molly Olive is off fucking limits to you and your family,” I growl and walk out of the casino. I need to go home.

The valet pulls up with my car, and I jump in and head for my house. I bought the place a few years ago after I got sick of living at the casino. I like the quiet of having my own estate.

Pressing the button on my car, I yell out, “Call Tío E,” and my speaker rings through the car.

I want to know why my uncle has sent Elias here to handle Molly and how exactly he’s planning on doing it. My Tío E is the current leader of a Mexican cartel. How he handles shit isn’t always clean.

“Alfie, what can I do for you?” My uncle’s voice comes over the line.

“What do you want with Molly Olive?”

“I want her and her business to stay out of Las Vegas. The same thing you want. Why do you ask?”

“What’d you send Elias here to do to her, exactly?”

“Whatever is necessary.”

“Call him off. I’ve got this handled.”

“You’ve got this handled? How so? Because I heard she’s your date to your mother’s gala on Saturday night.”

“Keep your enemies close, Tío E.”

“Your enemies are better dead, Alfie. That way, they can’t come up and bite you in the ass,” my uncle says.

“She’s harmless,” I mutter. “Call him off. I’ve got her handled.”

“I’ll take it under advisement.” Tío E cuts the call.

My fist hits the steering wheel. “Fuck!”

He’ll take it under advisement. Fucking hell. Stopping at the light, I turn left towards my parents’ house instead of heading to the estate.

Fifteen minutes later, I’m walking through my childhood home looking for my father. I find him in his office, because like me, he’s a fucking workaholic. He might spend less time at the casino these days, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still working.

“Hey.” I walk in, closing the door behind me.

“Alfie, what’s going on?” My father stands and circles his desk.

“Nothing. I need to put a detail on someone,” I tell him.

“Okay, so do it.”

“I might need more men than usual.”

“Why?”

“Tío E sent Elias here to handle Molly Olive.”

“Fucking hell.” Dad shakes his head.

“I want her protected. I called Tío E and he wouldn’t agree to stand down.”

“Why do you want her protected?”

“Haven’t you heard? She’s my date to Mom’s gala Saturday night.” I smirk.

“I heard about that. Is that the only reason?”

“She’s a businesswoman. Once she realizes she’s wasting time and resources here, she’ll back out. She doesn’t need to be on the radar of the fucking cartel.”

“I agree,” Dad says. “I’ll speak to Emmanuel. How many men have you already got following her?”

I smirk. He knows me too well. “Three, but if Elias is planning on erasing the Olive Group problem, I want more.”

“Okay, handle it.”

“Thanks.” I wasn’t asking for permission to put more men on her. The men I currently have following Molly are instructed to keep me informed of her coming and goings. Not to keep her safe. That has to change.

“Alfie, you sure she’s not going to be a threat?” my dad presses.

“She won’t be a problem,” I assure him, because as much as I might like fucking the woman, I’m not going to lose my city to anyone.
