Chapter Nine Crown Corlin Alexander
Pacing the marble floor in the ballroom at the Hyatt, I took a deep breath. Solae ain't never been late to any of my fundraisers or parties. I wondered what had her tied up.
Trying not to think something was wrong, I looked around at all of the people.
I wasn't gone trip because we hadn't even started yet. We were just vibing.
The all-gold gala had turned out better than I expected, and I couldn't lie, I was proud as hell of how everything came together.
The ballroom looked rich from every angle.
Golden lighting reflected off the marble floors and bounced off the crystal chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings, making the whole room look expensive.
Gold satin drapes decorated the crisp white walls from top to bottom, and every round table individually dressed in champagne-colored linen with glittering gold runners stretched across the middle.
The centerpieces alone probably cost more than a rent payment.
Tall glass vases sat on every table, overflowing with white roses and gold-painted branches twisted into elegant, artistic shapes I couldn't even describe.
Teacup candles were scattered throughout the ballroom, giving my event a more intimate, grown-and-sexy vibe.
