Chapter 15
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Lily
“We’re going to go to the bathroom and then grab a drink. Don’t worry, I’m not going alone. Giovanna’s going with me. Do you want a drink?”
“I’ll go with you, I won’t go into the bathroom.” Tristan chuckles.
We all head towards the bathroom, Giovanna and I go in while Tristan and Grady wait outside.
“You two are adorable.” Giovanna says to me.
“Thank you. I’m a lucky woman. You and Declan are too. I still can’t believe I’ve gotten to meet both of you.”
“Are you a Redhawks fan?”
“Yep. Since the day I was born.” I chuckle.
We wash our hands as I turn to grab some paper towels, I feel someone come up behind me.
“Both of you will come with me. If you scream or make any gestures to your security? I’ll shoot you both.”
I look at Giovanna and she’s staring at whoever’s behind me. I don’t recognize their voice at all and now I’m afraid. I look around for Tristan, he’s going to think this was his fault. But it’s not.
“Do you really think you’re going to get past our security?” Giovanna frowns at him.
“Well, yes. Do you think they’re going to take the chance that either of you could be shot? The wife of the famous Declan O’Reilly? The daughter of the great Enea Mancini? Please. They won’t take the chance that I would shoot you. And believe me, I will.”
I’m trying to figure out how he thinks he’s going to get the two of us out with just him. But that question is answered as another guy comes out of one of the stalls. He’s pointing a gun at us.
“Did you fall asleep in the fucking stall?” the guy behind me snaps at him.
“I was waiting.” He shrugs.
“Remember. Cooperate and you’ll both live. Otherwise your sons will be motherless and you? You’ll just be dead.”
I look at Giovanna, she nods at me. I take that as we’re going to cooperate. But I don’t know what will happen outside. Tristan isn’t going to just let him take me. And I’m guessing Grady won’t either. They push us towards the door.
Giovanna is the first one out, I see Grady and Tristan looking at us. Giovanna shakes her head at Grady. The look he gives her is one that tells me that he knows what she’s saying to him.
“You realize that this place is filled with our men, right?” Tristan says to the men behind us.
“Well your choices are you either let us go with them or we kill them.” He cocks the gun and puts it to my head.
I gasp as a tear falls. When the texts would come in, it scared me. But nothing like this. I never let myself believe that it could come to this. I look at Tristan and mouth ‘I love you’.
Grady steps to the side and watches us walk by him. They get us out the side door and into a car. They both get into the front seat, so of course Giovanna and I both try the door handles.
“You can try to escape. But you won’t get out. Child locks are a great invention.”
I grab Giovanna’s hand and hold tight.
Tristan
When that bastard cocked his gun and put it to my Lily’s head, I saw red.
I wanted to rush him and take him out. But I knew that if I did, I could lose Lily.
And that wasn’t a chance I was willing to take.
I followed Grady’s lead, even though I didn’t want to.
But he’s been with Giovanna longer and I had to trust that he knew what he was doing.
“Why did you let them leave?” I snap at Grady.
“Because we will get them back.” He says as he heads for Sebastiano.
“Gia was taken.” He says to him.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Sebastiano yells.
“Where’s my wife?” Declan asks as he looks at Grady.
We both explain what just happened. I watch Sebastiano get his phone out and stare at it.
“I got them they’re heading towards Evanston.”
“How the fuck do you know that?” I ask them.
“Giovanna has a tracker in her.”
“What the fuck are you talking about? A tracker?”
“I’ll explain it to you later. Right now we need my papà. He’ll tell us who’s coming with us.”
We head over to where Enea and some of the Lake Renegade council is. Sebastiano tells him what we know. I see the rage on his face. Giovanna’s his baby. All I can think of is Lily and if she’s okay.
Enea takes us over to one of the rooms backstage.
“You need to go now. When you get to them, no one goes in alone. We don’t know where they’re taking them. And we don’t know if they’ll hurt Lily or Giovanna.” Enea says.
I can hear the tremors in his voice as he talks.
“Tristan, Grady, Valentino, Eros, Apollo, Adonis, Galen, Celestino, Sebastiano, Ares, Georgios and Rónán. You’re all on this one.
I know you don’t like being in the SUV’s.
But your bikes will make too much noise.
I want Sebastiano tracking them and when you find them, we need to know the layout of where they are.
Whether it’s a house or a hotel. I don’t fucking care.
We need to know what we’re walking into.
Lorenzo, you’re on finding out who the fuck this is, Francesco you’re helping him.
Zeus, Panagiotis, Giacomo and I will be there too.
The rest of you are to stay here. Make sure all the women are safe.
And as soon as this is over, get them all home. ” Enea tells everyone.
We all start scrambling and head out.
“What if they separate Lily and Giovanna? I’ll lose Lily if they do that.” I say to Eros.
“Don’t think like that. We’re going to get her before they lay a hand on her.”
“You can’t promise that. I need her. How did we miss this fucker? They were waiting in the bathroom. We swept everywhere.” I say angrily.
“We didn’t before the party. No one thought we needed to because we already had before.” Adonis says to me.
“Well then we fucked up.” I snap at him.
“We didn’t fuck up. We did everything we could.”
“No we didn’t. If we had, Lily would be in my arms and not in a fucking car being taken who fucking knows where. We don’t even know who the fuck this is.”
“If you don’t calm down, you’ll stay in the fucking car.” Ares says to me. “You’re no good to us if you can’t keep your cool. This is why we don’t guard the ones we are with.”
I take a few deep breaths.
“I’m sorry. I just can’t lose Lily.”
“And I can’t lose my sister. I lost her once before. I won’t lose her again.” Sebastiano frowns at me.
I heard the stories about what happened to Giovanna and Lorenzo. I’m an asshole to think this is only about Lily and me.
“It looks like they’ve stopped.” Sebastiano says as he punches in the address into the GPS.
“Is it a house?” Ares asks.
“Yeah, it looks like a house. I’m looking up if it’s a rental.”
“I’m going to park here for a second so we can talk to the others. Let them know what we know and get a quick plan together.”
We stop at in a parking lot and everyone gets out. Sebastiano fills them in on what he found and gives all of them the address.
“The house looks small, that should help us. Are we sure it’s just the two of them?” Zeus asks.
“As far as we know. But there could be more there.”
“Let’s be ready for more of them. And if it’s just the two of them, then great.”
We get a plan together and then head to the house. We’re coming Lily.
