Chapter 37 Delilah
THIRTY-SEVEN
Delilah
“This must have taken you forever.”
I’ve never seen such a gorgeous book, and I’ve seen my fair share of special editions. I can’t believe he did all this for an emotional wreck he just met—plucking a book out of a puddle and breathing life back into it.
He shrugs like it’s nothing, but I can tell how much effort he’s put in.
“But when we first met…” I search for the right words. “You didn’t even know me.”
“When you told me your name, it confirmed what the others had told me. They met an omega named Delilah who changed their lives.” Nash steps closer, casting me under his large shadow. “As soon as I met you, I knew it was you. And I knew I wanted you.”
“But I was a sobbing mess who dropped a vibrator!”
He chuckles at the memory, cupping my face in his hands.
“But you were my sobbing mess. I knew you were my match. If that book was special enough to make you cry, then I knew I had to fix it. I want to fix everything for you.” His gaze softens.
“I want to be the guy you can depend on. The guy who builds you a house you never want to leave. A place for a family. One day.”
A tear slips down my cheek.
“More crying?” Nash arches an eyebrow. “We have to do something about that.”
“These are happy tears, promise! It’s just…
I always dreamed of finding a pack. I had all these fantasies about finding my scent matches.
” I babble on. “After Jagger left, I almost gave up hope that love really existed beyond the pages of a book. I didn’t think it was something I could actually have.
But this?” I gesture to the book then to him.
“This makes me believe that the kind of love I read about may be real.”
“Well, I may not be a hockey player with a large trust fund.” He nudges his head toward the book. “But I’ll do my damnedest to make sure you get the love that you deserve every day. All of us will.”
I gaze into his captivating eyes, overcome with the overwhelming feeling that he is… mine.
I kiss him, still crying, as he scoops me up and places me down on his workbench. I wrap my legs around his torso, breathing him in. The whole area is full of his maple-campfire scent, but it’s more intense as I nuzzle his neck, driving me wild as his hardness presses against my core.
“Nash…” A wave of absolute certainty sweeps over me. “I want you.”
“And I want you, too,” he growls back, his erection straining.
“No.” He doesn’t understand. I pull back slightly, sweeping the hair off my neck and turning my head. “I mean… I want you. Not just right now, but forever. Claim me, alpha.”
Maybe that’s a corny line, but it’s how I feel.
The deep sense of safety I feel when Nash’s around, the knowing that if he’s there, I’m going to be okay, brings me unspeakable security.
I’m not like Kady—my gorgeous, independent friend who has never wanted to bond.
I’ve always wanted to find my true love.
It may be crazy to consider bonding so soon after we only started courting, but if I’m positive he’s the one, why wait?
I can feel he’s my match deep in my bones, almost as if his name is already engraved onto them.
Shock clouds his features. “Really? I thought you’d want to court properly first.”
“I’m sure.” I wrap my arms around his neck. “I can feel it. That we’re meant to be. Unless…”
Have I completely misjudged this situation? He made me the most thoughtful and gorgeous book, but that doesn’t mean he wants to be bound to me forever.
Before I spiral, he tips up my chin, his gaze piercing mine.
“Of course, I want to,” he whispers. “From the moment I caught your scent, I knew there’d be no one else.
But…” He blows out a long exhale. “I want you to be sure.” He brushes my lips with his thumb, sending a tremor through me.
“Jagger will always be part of my pack. If we do this, it changes everything for everyone. There’s no going back. Are you ready for that?”
I know what he’s asking without him having to say it. He wants to know whether I’ll fully accept Jagger and all that comes with it, which only cements my decision. I want to be with a kindhearted and loyal man, one who puts others before himself, and I’ve found that in Nash.
“You’re my pack,” I state with certainty. “All three of you. I know that my relationship with Jagger has been difficult, but we’ll figure it out. Right now, I’m ready to move on from the past. In this moment, all I want to think about is our future. And us.”
His eyes keep darting to my neck, the crystal blue of his eyes completely covered by his blown pupils.
“I don’t care about gifts or dates or the whole courting process,” I continue. “And maybe it’s stupid to throw caution to the wind, say screw it to the consequences and follow my heart, but…” My eyes meet his. “You’re mine, Nash. And I want to be yours. Completely.”
He leans in cautiously, kissing my neck. It feels like every single nerve ending in my body is singing as his lips graze my skin.
“Are you sure?” His husky voice sends a delicious chill down my spine. “Right now?”
“Yes.” I tilt my head. “I’m positive.”
I wait, sucking in a breath, bracing for the bite. Just as I’m asking myself if this is when he’s going to do it, he pulls back.
“If we’re doing this, you have to be somewhere more comfortable,” he growls. “I’m not bonding with you on a dusty workbench. This is a moment we’ll always remember, so it needs to be special.”
Before I can object, he throws me over his shoulder like I weigh nothing.
“Nash!” I squeal as he strides down the steps and out of the workshop. “I can walk myself.”
“Nope, you’re coming with me,” he rumbles as he carries me through the house, moving like a soldier with a purpose. The others aren’t around as he storms up the stairs and kicks the nest door open. “It’s time to make you mine.”
The sexual tension buzzes between us as he throws me down onto the bed, only pausing to carefully remove our shoes and toss them aside.
“Wow.” He looks at me like I’m a masterpiece before tearing Tae’s shirt off my skin and hurling it away. “When we bond, I want my scent to be the only thing all over you.”
He leans over me, rubbing his scent glands over my cheeks.
My body responds instantly, causing my sweet perfume to fill the air.
He groans, driving his hips into mine, the metal of his belt buckle providing delightful friction against my heat.
I wasn’t wearing a bra under the T-shirt, so as he crawls down me, he rubs his scent all over my breasts, covering me in it before taking my nipple into his mouth, my body humming from need.
“Nash!” I whine, pawing at his pants, eager to remove them. How dare the fabric stand in our way? He squeezes my breast before straightening to undress himself.
I can’t believe this mountain of a man is going to be mine… forever. The thought turns me on even more.
“Off.” He nods at my skirt. “Now.”
I clench my thighs together as his tongue slips out to wet his lips when he sees I’m not wearing any panties. I’m already drenched, the tops of my thighs glistening with arousal.
“Look at all that sweet slick waiting for me.” He rubs his cock against my entrance then halts. “Are you really sure this is what you want?”
I know he’s talking about more than just fucking me.
“Yes,” I breathe. “Claim me.”
He slides into me in a long deliberate stroke that makes me appreciate every single inch of him.
My walls vibrate, and my skin feels hypersensitive.
Up close, I soak in every exquisite detail of his face from the barely there freckles over his nose, the slightly darker navy rim of his irises, and the light sheen of sweat glossing his broad shoulders when he thrusts.
“Big,” I groan. “You’re so big.”
He smirks proudly. “Do you want the rest of it?”
“Uh-huh.” Every synapse in my body lights up as he pushes another inch inside me. “I want all of you.”
His pace quickens with reckless abandon as my pussy tightens around him, getting closer to release. When he leans down, his mouth caressing my neck with gentle kisses, my entire body tightens, waiting with anticipation.
His knot engorges, pulsating erratically as if it knows what’s coming.
Then it happens.
Nash locks in place at the exact moment his canines pierce my skin.
It’s over quickly—a sharp burst of pain followed by the most knee-trembling ecstasy I’ve ever experienced.
It’s as if my body has been shot straight into the sun, catapulting me to dizzying pleasure.
An orgasm racks my body, writhing while letting out noises that I didn’t think were humanly possible.
A warmth radiates from the bite spot, like a fire is rushing through my veins, overwhelming in the most incredible way.
Nash’s hips shudder. He’s locked in place, but he still moves as much as he can while his knot buzzes and his cum blasts into me.
“Delilah.” My name comes between breaths, turning his head to give me access to his neck. “I want your mark.”
I don’t know what to do. I’d never really considered this part of the process before. Luckily, my omega instincts take over. Without thinking, I grab my alpha’s neck and bite him, holding on and sucking hard just to make sure that I’ve definitely left my mark behind.
Nash groans, his body sagging on top of mine, succumbing to the rapture. When I finally release my teeth, I notice my bite mark is surrounded by the largest hickey I’ve ever seen. Perhaps I was a little too enthusiastic, but it’s so hot to see it on him. My mark. On my alpha.
Pride courses through me, like electricity. I can feel my own happiness, but I sense something else too… Nash’s emotions—his happiness, his bliss, his relief.
Imagine multiplying the pleasure of one orgasm a hundred times over; that’s the level of intensity that comes from bonding. The sheer force of it has my pussy clenching as I climax once again, whimpering as wave after wave of satisfaction radiates through me.
Both of our chests heave as he holds the weight of his body on his elbows so he doesn’t completely crush me.
“That was…” He can’t seem to find the words.
“I know…” I gasp. “We really did it.”
“We did.” He grins before licking over my new claim mark. The tip of his tongue gliding over the wound tickles and sends a lightning bolt of lust shooting straight between my legs. “Is it sensitive?”
“A little.” I bite my lip. “In a good way.”
“I can…” He stares at me in wonderment. “Feel you. I didn’t… I didn’t think it would feel like this.”
“Do you like it?”
“I love it.” He kisses my nose. “It’s just…” His surprise, his confusion, and his joy hit me, then I’m hit by an all-consuming surge of love. “Whoa.”
Still attached, we maneuver to a side-lying position. I drape my leg over his muscular thigh, clinging to him. This is my happy place, and right now, I can’t ever imagine being parted from him.
“I’m never letting you out of my sight again.” He holds me close.
We lay there for the longest time, reveling in our new connection.
In addition to hearing from Faye and Kady about their experiences, I read about and thought I’d readied myself for what being bonded to an alpha feels like.
But nothing could have prepared me for this feeling of…
utter completeness. It’s like when I’m crocheting a blanket and connecting two corresponding squares—they slot perfectly into place, side-by-side, like they were made to be together.
But whenever the thought of leaving him rises…
“It’s okay.” Nash brushes a strand of hair off my forehead, sensing my panic. “I’m not going anywhere.”
And now that I can feel his emotions, I truly believe it.
