~ Chapter Nine ~

“Have a good night, Boss?” I glared at Jameson as he chuckled, easily pointing out the love bites I had exposed.
I wouldn’t answer his question out loud, but yes, I had a good night. A real good fucking night.
Sure, the sex was beyond mind blowing with my wife, but even between those times, we talked, getting to know each other on a deeper level. We took a bath, exploring the many things about ourselves and our bodies.
Like, she has the freakin’ cutest birthmark on her right hip in the shape of a crescent moon. So, when she was eighteen, she got a sun tattooed on her left hip. She also commented on just how pale I was and how the only color I would ever be able to have would be the reddish freckles that seemed to be dusted all over my body.
Which was true. I also, vehemently told her, that was the joy of being Irish. I also mentioned to her, as I rubbed her belly, to be ready because our children would probably be fair skinned as well. That led to another hot sex scene in the tub.
Of course, the love bites weren't the only thing I had. I had scratches galore on my back. My little Siren was also one hell of a sex kitten who liked her claws. Not only were my back and shoulders marked up, but so were my thighs. For one of the times, I had her on me and in reverse, her nails were marking up my legs, as if they were trying to steady her.
"You know, Jameson, the Italians have a thing they do that I might start looking into as well." I paused making sure I had his attention. "They discipline any man under their command, even top men, for disrespect." I watched as the man swallowed hard, knowing just what I was talking about.
He held up his hands and shook his head. "I didn't mean anything by it, Boss. You know that, right? I like Lucia, she's a good match for you and a damn good queen to have on your bloody, Irish throne."
"Smart answer," I heard from behind me and turned to see my wife there, a smile on her face. "And I have known my dad to cut off a finger or two if anyone disrespected him, or his family." I cut off my laugh as she tossed a wink his way.
"She's gonna be a ball buster, Boss," he grumbled, and I only nodded. I had no doubt that my new wife was going to keep me on my toes all the time. And oddly enough, I didn't mind because I knew there wouldn't be a dull moment with her.
"I enjoy that title very much, thank you," she told him, linking her arm through mine. "Shall we get going though? Checkout is complete and my luggage is down at the car already.”
“Smart, beautiful, and easy to get along with, I think I hit the jackpot,” I teased her, giving her a quick kiss. “We do have to head out. I believe your dad wanted to see me this afternoon. Not a man I want to keep waiting if I can avoid it. Let’s go, Jameson.”
I took my little Siren’s hand, feeling far too lucky and peaceful.
Lucia
“Is there anyone I should be worried about your in house? I mean, there weren’t any issues while I was there, but that doesn’t mean that someone wasn’t upset?”
“No, Wife, it’s your castle to control, to maintain how you see fit. My close-knit people are small, so you should always know who is who and who would even enter.” I nodded at that because I was already understanding that. But his world, his close-knit people, the ones he ate and talked with, were far smaller than what I was used to and I might just have to change that.
“Good to know. Didn’t want to ruffle any feathers.”
“None to ruffle, at least to anyone that matters.” I grinned as he gave me a soft kiss. Mentally, I sighed. I don’t know if I would ever stop enjoying those. I was about to lean in to give him another when the car swerved violently, and I crashed against the door.
“What the hell, Jameson?”
“Sorry, Boss, but we got a tail and I’m trying to lose him.”
I turned to glance out the window, ducking quickly at the flash of light, and then covered my head as the back window was hit with gunfire.
“Bulletproof car, Siren.”
“Trevor, it’s meant to withstand a couple bullets, not a valley of them.” With that, more shots were fired and after a few rounds, the window finally shattered, glass raining down.
“Fuck! Keep your head down, Lucia.”
I nodded, feeling Trevor shift next to me, and then I heard the cocking of his gun, and the rapid fire with which he shot back.
“I can’t make out who that is, Boss.” Once more, Jameson did a quick move, flinging me onto the floor. “Sorry, Lucia.”
“Don’t worry about me. Don’t forget, mafia princess, I know all about these things.” I carefully shifted, holding onto the seat so I could climb up and onto it, trying to see if I could catch a peek.
“Damn it, Lucia, stay down!” Trevor roared, letting off another round.
“Don’t worry about me! This is part of my world too, you know.” I lifted my head a little bit, focusing on the passenger as much as I could. I opened my eyes wide, about to say something, when another round of bullets entered the car, and a guttural cry erupted from the man next to me. I turned to look at him, seeing him clutch his shoulder, but the blood was already seeping out.
“Hurry, Jameson. And call the doc, he was hit.” I took Trevor’s gun, giving him a quick kiss, then kneeled on the seat, getting enough of an aim to blow out the tire, allowing Jameson to peel away.
Four minutes later, we pulled up to the house, and I helped Trevor out, smiling at his grumbling.
“I was supposed to carry you in.”
“Yeah, well, Husband, it seems the news of our nuptials spread, and someone wanted to fight it.” I nodded at my dad as I helped Trevor into the living room, glad Doc was already there.
“Who did this?” my dad questioned once we were in, and I crossed my arms.
“I know who.” All eyes turned to me. “Chung Lee, the mighty developer out of New York. Guess he runs more than just some business plans.”
