Keeley #2
Truth be told, I doubted he’d stick around very long.
He wasn’t overtly homophobic, but he was hardly an outspoken ally either.
The owner’s agreement to actively promote queer events we were supporting in addition to hockey wasn’t sitting well with him.
He thought we should be focusing on the game, leaving the politics aside—the catch cry of every person who was clueless or willfully ignorant of their privilege.
He’d certainly never been a minority before with his white, male, middle-class private boys’ school upbringing, only to double down on the then highbrow frat in college, I’d already had to pull him up for calling me a DEI hire—ironic considering his only experience in PR had been working for his daddy’s company until—and we only found this out after he was hired—he was let go.
But apparently “Didn’t Earn It” only applied to Latinx supervisors.
So, as the Team’s PR manager, it meant everything fell on me.
I needed to deliver or the owner’s support would disappear.
I wouldn’t let that happen. The boys on the team were all trailblazers.
They’d all paved the way for the NHL to become a more accepting place for queer people, and I was there to show the world that the whole team was behind them.
“Still got your headache?” Spencer asked as he came to stand behind the sofa and rubbed my shoulders.
“Yeah, the pain meds haven’t even touched it.”
“You need rest,” he murmured, his lips against my temple. I hummed, and he asked, “Can I do anything?”
Brayden sat down next to me and took my hand in his as Hannah popped her thumb into her mouth. I smoothed her curls, and she snuggled into me, laying her head on my lap.
“You’ve both done more than enough. Why don’t you head home and relax? Hannah’s on her way to falling asleep, and I should get some work done.”
“Or,” Spencer said slowly, “we could go to the shops and get some food, and I’ll cook dinner tonight. Then you can have leftovers, I get to eat something other than room service, and I don’t have to smell Bray heating up broccoli.”
I huffed out a laugh as Brayden teased, “Y’all’d better say yes. He’s going through kitchen withdrawals.”
“Still haven’t found a place?”
Brayden shook his head. “I loved one of them, but Spencer’s still unsure.”
I leaned my head back against the sofa and peered up at him only a few inches away.
“What aren’t you sure about?” I asked, trying to picture the kind of place they’d go for.
I could imagine it being a total bachelor pad—underground garage space, a games room filled with pinball machines and arcade games, and giant television screens indoors and out.
But maybe I was wrong. Brayden’s truck stood out like a sore thumb among the other players’ rides. It was in worse condition than the piece of junk I’d driven in college. He was a millionaire, yet he still drove around in a thirty-year-old truck that had more rust than metal.
“I’ve heard mixed things about the school district,” Spencer answered matter-of-factly.
Huh.
I blinked, processing his answer.
They didn’t seem to care about material things, but this was taking it to another level.
Were they planning on fostering or adopting?
Or maybe seeking out a surrogate? I was blown away.
I couldn’t quite believe it. These two men were in their mid-twenties, in the primes of their careers, and here they were, thinking about school districts for children they didn’t even have. They surprised me at every turn.
“Cleo, Rune’s girlfriend, is a middle-school teacher. You could ask her what she thinks.”
They shared a look and nodded.
“I’ll talk to Rune,” Brayden said.
“So it wasn’t the house itself you weren’t sure on?” I asked.
“Nah, the house is perfect—way over the top—but it’s private as hell. It’s in a gated community with full fencing around the property, and it’s at the end of the street, so it’s hidden from the neighbors. There’s nothing across the Bay for miles.”
“Is it on the water?” I asked.
“Yeah, and the outdoor area is next level too.”
“What about the interior?”
“I like it. There’s nothing really I’d change except part of the basement—I’d build a recording studio there. It’s laid-back and beachy with lots of whites, teals, and blues. Timber floors, a great home office, a gym that’s perfect for Bray, lots of spare bedrooms, and a kitchen to die for.”
“It sounds like a dream.”
He hummed, then a smile stretched across his face. “You should come and check it out with me. As long as you’re driving.”
I laughed. “How can you not want to drive?”
“You lot drive on the wrong fucking side of the road!” he cried, and I bit back my laughter.
I lost the battle when Brayden rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Such a baby.”
Still laughing, I replied, “I’m happy to drive, and I’d love to see it. But if it’s only the school district stopping you and not the house itself, it sounds like you’re ready to make the decision.”
“Eh, come and see it with me anyway,” Spencer insisted.
“Sure.” I gestured to Hannah asleep on my lap and added, “If you don’t want to stay—”
“We’ll get some groceries,” Brayden responded.

With Hannah finally down for the night, I closed the door to her room and found Spencer and Brayden standing in the living room, waiting for me. I could take the hint, and honestly, I was surprised they’d stayed this long.
“Thanks again for everything. Dinner was incredible.”
Spencer had made a chicken parmi—a schnitzel topped with a tomato and herb sauce, ham, and melted cheese, with thick-cut fries and a salad. Apparently it was a pub staple for him back home, and he’d missed it since arriving in the US.
“We’re happy to be here,” Brayden responded, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.
I rested my hands on his chest and felt his heart beating strong and true under my palm. “You don't need to stick around if you don't want to.”
I wasn’t selfish enough to ask them to stay, even though I desperately wanted them to.
I didn’t want to be alone, but more than that, I wanted to be with them.
I wanted the small moments—the cuddles and the kisses, resting my head on one of their shoulders or holding their hands.
I wanted to see them with Hannah and for us to talk and laugh together.
I wanted the family I’d always dreamed of with them.
“Who says we don't want to?” Spencer asked, and my heart beat harder, hope soaring in me. Brayden stepped closer, cupping my cheek and raising my lips to his. He kissed me gently, a slow, chaste one. Spencer slotted in behind me and rested his chin on my shoulder, then wrapped his arms around Brayden’s and my waists.
Spencer leaned in and kissed his husband, pulling him tighter against me until I was sandwiched between them. My head fell back, resting on Spencer’s shoulder, and I reached up, tangling my fingers in his hair to keep him close.
“You’ve been around people all day,” I mumbled, needing to give him the option to leave if he was only staying because he felt obliged to. “You said you prefer your own space.”
“I lied,” he murmured and kissed my neck. Gooseflesh pebbled all over my skin.
I opened my eyes and arched a brow. “You were hissing like a cat every time anyone got close to you at the office.”
Spencer laughed and nuzzled me again. “As a general rule, people can go fuck themselves. I don't like people.”
“Right,” I said slowly. He was making no sense. But he was scrambling my brains with his tongue on my neck.
“But you're not people, Keels. Neither is Hannah. I like spending time with my ladies and my guy.”
Freaking swoon. How was it that with a few sentences he could set off a whole kaleidoscope of butterflies in my belly and have me wanting to kick my legs and squeal?
I managed a much more sedate “Your ladies?” than I felt, but I couldn’t hide, my smile.
“Yep,” he stated, popping the “p.” And there went the butterflies again.
“Simple as that,” Brayden added.
“Pretty much,” Spencer agreed, then scrambled my brain when he slid his hands under my top, stroking his warm, calloused fingers against my skin.
He kissed a line up my throat, and Brayden leaned in, capturing my lips with his.
Our tongues tangled, and I tasted the sweet and sour tamarind juice on his lips.
Spencer set fire to my body as he trailed his fingertips over me, gooseflesh rising in their wake. I broke Brayden’s kiss and gasped as Spencer stroked his thumbs over my taut nipples. He inched the hem of my shirt up, exposing my rounded belly. “Do you want this, Keels?”
“Take it off,” I begged, unashamed of how needy I sounded. “I want you both.”
“How do you want us?” Brayden asked, a smile in his voice. I blinked my eyes open and heat flushed over my skin. “So fuckin’ gorgeous,” he whispered.
“I want to try it.” Brayden cocked his head in question, and I clarified, “DP. I want you both inside me.”
They groaned simultaneously, the vibrations from their chests going straight to my clit. Spencer flicked open the catches on my bra, and Brayden undid the button and zipper on my jeans before falling to his knees and tugging them down with him.
I was naked before these Adonises, and I’d never felt more beautiful. Their murmured praise and gentle touches were drugging, their kisses all over my body sending me soaring.
Brayden stood and took my hand in his, then led me to the bathroom. Spencer propped the baby monitor on the countertop, and I turned the water on, letting steam fill the room while they stripped off their clothes without any finesse.
Spencer chuckled, and I looked over my shoulder at what Brayden was doing.
He had Spencer by the cock, leading him toward the tub. “Get in there,” he ordered.
“You too,” I instructed, before sitting on the edge of the tub, my feet between theirs.
