Chapter Eighteen

Milo

The return to reality of work and school after the wedding had been brutal.

For the two following weeks, I’d been knee-deep in receipts, orders, and bills, on top of intense preparation for my final exam, with the only break to celebrate Anabelle’s birthday with Ethel.

Rowan was working on my math with me, and even more importantly, helping me relax in the best way.

We’d met nearly every day, apart from times I wanted to spend with Ethel or the evening events at the cafe.

He’d taken to joining the bingo and karaoke nights, despite not taking part in singing.

He’d sip his soda and sit at the back, or chat to whoever was new or alone.

At night, Rowan would sleep at my house, or I’d stay at his hotel room, and we’d end up curled together after making each other come several times, or none at all if we were too exhausted after a long day.

He was meticulous about taking his stuff with him whenever he stayed over, but I convinced him to leave a spare toothbrush and a change of clothes at least. Clearly, he didn’t want to give me the wrong impression, but I made sure he knew I understood our arrangement and wouldn’t ask him for things he couldn’t give.

He was leaving soon, and I was staying in Wendigo Hills for good.

We both had busy lives, and driving back and forth was not an option for either of us.

Which was fine. I’d made peace with it. And would use the time we have to the fullest.

I was about to meet him for a lunch break at the cafe to discuss its financial situation, and I had a genius idea on how to make the short meeting special.

Black coffee with a hint of sea salt chocolate remained his favorite, so I prepared it the way he liked and snuck out to the staff room in the back and into my office.

It was more of a closet with the tiniest desk known to man, but it had a safe with float and weekly earnings, and enough space for an old-school filing cabinet.

Hopping on top of the desk, I set the coffee cup aside and pulled out my dick.

I closed my eyes and thought of Rowan and how he looked at me with hooded gaze, sipped his coffee with my cum in it, then came all over himself and my feet.

I spat on my hand and jerked my cock faster, twisting my grip on the upstroke.

Remembering why I was pleasuring myself in the first place, I grabbed Rowan’s cup and released a string of my cum into it.

“For you, my big man.” I took deep breaths, coming down from the rush, then cleaned up in the bathroom.

With a wicked grin, I marched back through the staff doors and put a lid on the takeaway cup.

Rowan was already here; I knew it before I spotted him in his favorite armchair. He wasn’t alone. Troy was sitting next to him, pointing to something on his phone. I’d agreed to Rowan discussing my situation with Troy, but I hadn’t been expecting him to come in today.

I had half a mind to dump Rowan’s coffee, but I couldn’t chicken out now, not when I wanted to see his expression when he tasted it so much. I headed toward the remote corner with a spring in my step.

“Hi there.” I joined Rowan and Troy. “What are you doing here?” I patted Troy on the back. “Do you need anything to drink?”

“Sophia made me a latte, thanks.” He lifted his cup. “My honeymoon is over, so I’m back.”

“Sorry to hear that. How was it?” I took a seat at the small table they were sitting at, with Rowan’s laptop on top. It had a Cryptid Café sticker on the lid next to the Cryptid Alliance one. Only two stickers. Not crazy, but good enough for a hot math geek.

“The parachute lessons were as scary as the zip lining Raina wanted to do.” He looked half horrified and half excited. “We had a fantastic time, but AlphaWave Finance wouldn’t let me take more than two weeks for the trip, so here I am.”

“Your company sucks.”

Troy shrugged one shoulder, then glanced at Rowan. “It does.”

“I’m glad you had fun on your honeymoon. How’s Raina?”

“She’s great. Not happy that we’re apart so soon. I figured since I’m here, I want to help you and Rowan figure out good business decisions.”

“Thanks. I appreciate that.”

“Oh, you do?” Rowan asked with pure sarcasm in his tone. “It took you weeks to accept my help on this.”

“Now I’m warmed up to the idea, so it’s easier.” I grinned innocently. “I brought you a special coffee.” I handed him the cup.

He accepted it and smiled. “You mean my favorite?”

“Yes. I hope so.”

Rowan squinted at me and took a sip. His eyes blew wide, and he smacked his lips as color tinted his cheeks. “My absolute favorite.”

“Is this the sea salt one you told me about?” Troy asked. “Can I try?”

“No!” Rowan and I said in unison.

Troy lifted his hands in surrender. “Okay, chill. Keep your coffee.”

I chewed my bottom lip, hiding a smile.

“Okay, so I went through some details with Troy, and we have a few ideas.” Rowan opened several documents on his laptop.

“I can’t deal with another loan.” I had to make it clear off the bat.

“I know,” Rowan said.

“And before you start, thank you, but I won’t accept your money either.” I patted Rowan’s knee.

Rowan smirked. “I was about to offer.”

“I know.” I gave him a quick kiss.

Rowan cracked his knuckles. “I told Troy about your bingo and Karaoke nights, which bring the locals and the seniors in.”

I lifted my hand. “I won’t charge for them, so that’s off the table.”

“He said you’d say that.” Troy hid his smile behind his cup of latte.

“I was thinking of introducing a light dinner or snack package for these events, but I need to order a lot upfront to test the waters, and I can’t risk even that amount of money at this point.”

“You’re trying to do everything by yourself,” Troy said. “You may want to look into sponsorships, and there’s a grant we could help you apply for.”

We discussed more details, and with every good idea came monetary consequences.

“All of this is great. I will still need a miracle to pull this off and prove that this place is a staple of the community. It’s hard to tell if you’re here in the middle of a day on a slow week.”

“I saw how bingo and karaoke nights bring the town together.” Rowan added with a straight face even as he was drinking cum coffee.

“The Happy Life Senior Home bus brings the people here, and they can enjoy an evening away but in a familiar environment. I’ve seen that locals come over to chat with their old neighbor or a friend of their late grandparent.

Troy, you should see it. It’s nothing short of a post-credit scene from a happy movie. ”

“I love running these evenings. Entry is free for everyone, and I won’t change that.” I looked both men in the eye.

Troy was making notes on his phone. “We can work around this, right, Rowan?”

Rowan was sipping his coffee, sitting with his legs crossed and nodding. “Yeah. I have an idea or two, but I’d have to run the numbers and make some calls.”

“Thanks, guys.” I stood up and kissed Rowan’s cheek and lingered by his ear. “Meet me at my house after work for more of what’s in your coffee.”

A soft blush spread on Rowan’s cheeks, but his expression remained serious. “See you later.”

“You’re so gone, man,” Troy said when I had my back to them.

“Shut your face, loverboy,” Rowan quipped.

The snorty laugh that came out of me was involuntary, and I hurried to return to work.
