Three Years Later
I stared at my reflection in the mirror and tried to see if I looked different.
I felt different, like a million bucks actually, but would people notice when they saw me?
That I married the love of my life today.
That we were going to spend forever making one another happy.
With lots of orgasms, kisses and...Wait, no one wanted to see that on my face.
I giggled to myself as I leaned forward to make sure my hair was perfect.
That the crown Maverick insisted I wear as my something borrowed wasn’t crooked and still in place.
I felt beautiful today. Ezra had made my suit.
A white shirt made of silk, a white cummerbund, and black pants that fit like a dream.
Ezra had made Cole’s suit, too. An all-black ensemble that clung to his body like a glove.
I wanted to take my husband home and climb him like a tree.
But right now, our guests were waiting for me.
I was still doing therapy. Only once a week now, but it helped.
Megan was amazing. Even Cole had spoken with her after I insisted it might do him some good.
I no longer worried about every single thing I put into my mouth.
I ran the new studio my mother had opened and loved every second of it. I felt like the best version of myself.
I stepped out of the bathroom and found Cole waiting for me.
He leaned against the wall, his head tilted and a smile on his face.
When he saw me, he quickly pinned me against the doorframe and kissed me until I couldn’t breathe.
Then he adjusted the crown on my head and took my hand to lead me out to our guests.
We’d gotten married at Beau and Dean’s house.
Neither Cole nor I wanted a huge, fancy wedding, so it was perfect.
We said our I do’s outside by the lake while our friends and family looked on.
Hazel and Zach both stood up for me, while Cole had Oscar and Tate.
We had Rhodes Olson as the ring bearer, and Cole’s little sister, Trish, was our flower girl.
Everything went off without a hitch, and we were officially Mr. and Mr. Cole Whitaker.
“How long do we have to stay here?” Cole asked as he guided me down the hall. He grinned when I stopped to stare at him. “What? I want to be inside you, baby. You look hot as hell.” He leaned forward so his lips brushed my ear. “Do you think Mav would let you keep the crown for a little while?”
My cheeks grew warm. “Listen, husband, we will stay until the end of our reception. I only plan on getting married once, and I want to celebrate with our friends and family.”
My eyes grew wide when he once again pinned against the wall. Over the past few years, Cole had worked harder than ever, and he had the body to prove it. His biceps were bigger than my thighs.
“We might be able to leave earlier than I originally thought.”
“Mm, baby, I just want to sink inside that tight, hot hole of yours. Fuck my husband until he can’t move. And then, when we get to Hawaii, I want to do it again and again.” Cole licked the shell of my ear.
I shivered. “Okay, let’s go home. Right now.”
“You two are so cute.” Maverick clapped loudly and grinned when we pulled apart. “While I know you want to consummate your marriage, you have a yard full of people who are waiting to celebrate with you.” He glanced behind him as Ezra appeared. “Right, boo?”
Ezra nodded. “Right. And you two are the cutest couple. Sully can’t wait to take more pictures.” Brooklyn, Rand Shepard’s wife, was our photographer today. She had moved everything around to be here today, and I couldn’t have been happier.
I reached for Cole’s hand. “Ready, Casanova?”
“Ready, baby,” Cole answered.
MY FACE HURT FROM SMILING. My feet ached from dancing.
I had barely stopped moving since the reception started, and I had never been happier.
Right now, I was out on the dance floor with Zach, who was showing off in the best way.
He had taken off his shoes, removed his suit coat, and was showing Archer Hampton and Jack Carey how to do the perfect pirouette, their legs bent and their arms out.
Cole stood across the room, and I found myself walking to him when he winked.
“Come with me.” I tugged his arm to lead him out the door. The sky was full of bright stars as we headed outside, and when we got to the dock, I leaned up to kiss him.
Cole’s eyes danced with happiness. “Hi.”
“Hi,” I whispered. I bit my lip as I looked out at the lake. “I can’t believe that it was eight years ago when I saw you coming out of your parents’ wedding. It felt like a dream.”
He nodded. “I was already in love with you. I just hadn’t realized it yet.” He gripped the back of my neck with his big palm.
“I never thought I stood a chance with you.”
“Baby, you’re the only one I’ve ever wanted.”
I smiled through blurry eyes. “I’m still mad that Bryant got your first kiss.”
“You have my heart, baby. It’s always been you.” Cole pulled me toward him until our lips met, and I leaned against him as he slipped his tongue inside my mouth. Kissing him would never grow old. I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. And luckily, I could.
Cole suddenly pulled back. “Holy shit.”
“What?” I spun around to see what he was looking at. Two figures were obviously making out by my parents’ house, and if I didn’t know better, I would think one of them was Silas. But who was my brother all over like that?
Cole chuckled. “Looks like your brother is having a good time.” He tightened his grip on me when I tried to get away. “Let Silas have his fun.”
“Fine, but tomorrow I’m going to have a word with my little brother. He’s reckless.”
“He’s young. He’s just enjoying himself.”
I pouted. “Whatever.” I resisted the urge to go over there, because Cole was right. And Silas was an adult.
“Are you excited for our honeymoon? Hawaii is a tradition in my family. First Maverick and Jackson, then Dad and Dean.” Cole gripped my chin between his thumb and forefinger.
I nodded. “And now us.”
I couldn’t wait to see my husband in a pair of swim shorts, all ripped and gorgeous on the beach. Have others drool over him knowing I would be the one he went home with. The one he loved. And I couldn’t wait for Cole to see the new panties I had packed in my suitcase.
“You’re going to look stunning on the beach,” he whispered. “Can’t wait to see you all oiled up with suntan lotion in a pair of barely there shorts.”
I slid my hand up his chest. “Ditto.” I kissed him softly, and he deepened it. He gripped my head between his hands, and I moaned when our tongues tangled together. Kissing him felt like coming home.
“Thank you for marrying me today,” Cole murmured. “You’ve made me the happiest man in the world, baby.”
I sniffed. “It was my honor, Casanova.”
