Chapter Thirteen

I did my best to enjoy the spa even though my skin crawled with paranoia. My gut said everything was fine but my mind was spiraling into madness. Bethany didn’t seem to notice which made it easier to conceal my concern. The car ride home was long and by the time we got back we were starving.

“Why don’t we do dinner tonight at that place you keep eyeing?” I suggested.

“Sjávargrillie? That’d be nice. Not sure I have anything nice enough to wear.”

“Maybe you need to look a little harder.”

Scratching her head, she sat up in the bed. Getting out of bed, I walked over to the closet and pulled out a dress she had been eyeing at a local boutique. It was an olive green long sleeve form fitting dress that hit her mid thigh. As I pulled it out, I held it out for her to see.

A big smile crossed her face, “Emilio, you didn’t have to buy me anything.”

“I figured you’d feel more like yourself if you were dressed up for dinner.”

Jumping to her feet she gave me a big hug. “I’ll go shower.”

When the room was cleared, I grabbed my phone.

In order for me to have peace of mind, I needed to make sure my communication through Father Joel wasn’t exposed.

For years I was in the know of everything.

I knew what was going on at every given moment.

Since being gone, the stress of it fell off my shoulders but now I felt the burden of it on my chest heavier than ever.

I walked out to the balcony where the cool evening breeze gently caressed my skin and whipped out the phone from my pocket. The conversation started as usual.

“Bless me Father for I have sinned.”

“There’s no sin too great for the Lord to forgive my child,” the familiar voice responded.

Father Joel was assuring me our communications were still private and safe.

“I’m feeling lost and confused.”

“You must trust God has a plan and will reveal it in his own time. Job was a wealthy man who lost everything, including his children, to the devil. Job remained faithful to God and in the end, God rewarded Job's patience with twice as much as he had before.”

Father Joel was letting me know that Nicoletta no longer had concerns about her daughter. Perhaps Bethany’s note gave her a sense of ease? Were they not looking for her?

“God will always take care of his own,” I said at last.

“Yes my child. Remain steadfast in prayers and let me know when the man above speaks to you.”

“Thank you Father,” I replied before ending the call.

“Who is that?” Bethany said from behind me.

Turning around to face her, I shot a smile in her direction. “Making reservations.”

The restaurant had dim lighting and was very intimate. Chef Gunnar Gíslasonwas hosting and delivered an exquisite 5 course menu.

Wrapping the fork around her fingers she slowly stuck it into the skúffukaka rested on the fancy plate and then placed a piece into her mouth. The same mouth I used to shove my dick down that precious throat.

Her fingers traced along the neckline of her dress.

My eyes drifted down to her chest, the scoop neckline allowed her breasts to be perfectly displayed.

The more I looked at her somehow I fell more in love.

She submitted to me in ways I didn’t demand.

Feeling her foot glide up my leg, she wanted me to take her right here in front of everyone.

I enjoyed entertaining her little kinks but I had something else in mind tonight.

“Would the lovebirds like anything else for this evening?” The waiter said interrupting our moment.

“That will be all,” I replied still gazing at Bethany, “Ready to get out of here?”

The sparkle in her eyes lit up with excitement. “I’m going to use the restroom first.”

I watched her sway her hips as she walked away lost in what I was looking forward to doing to her.

“You always preferred kleina.”

“What are you doing here Athena?” I spat out.

Athena didn’t seem too happy with my coldness. “Dinner with my husband.” She tilted her head to the side, “Your new play thing is really pretty although she seems a bit young.”

My leg twitched under the table as I clenched my jaw. “Tell your husband I said hi.”

“Do you know how I have to play stupid about not knowing where his passport is?” Her tone was irate.

“Should I hand it to him right now?”

With a smirk she shot back, “I always loved your adventurous side. Does your new toy enjoy the way I taste?”

This only irritated me more. “This isn’t a game.”

“Then stop playing with me.” Athena wasn’t looking to make this easy at all.

Looking in the direction of the bathroom, I saw Bethany walking back to the table.

“I’ll hand it off tomorrow. Corner of Fischersund at 8am.”

“I’ll see you then,” Athena winked but she lingered just long enough for Bethany to roach the table. Turning toward her she made a comment, “I have the same dress.”

Bethany had a blank expression and smiled politely, “You have good taste then.”

“So do you. Enjoy your night.”

Bethany and I both watched Athena walk away.

“Who was that?” Bethany asked turning her focus back onto me.

“Wanted to know what dessert this was,” I pointed to the skúffukaka. “Let’s head out.”

As I held Bethany close to me, I spotted Athena at a table with a man seated across from her.

Athena must have sensed someone looking in her direction because we made eye contact.

A sly smirk crossed her face – shit. I knew asking her for a favor was going to backfire.

If I learned anything in this life – there was nothing like a scorned woman.
