21. Chapter Twenty-One

Chapter Twenty-One

Griffin’s Beach Gavin

G avin walks into the hotel restaurant and looks around.

Venom asked him to check in on Marnie to make sure she’s okay.

He’s not really sure what to think about the dynamic between them, but he suspects his new girl has something to do with the reason he doesn’t come and check on Marnie himself.

At the end of the day, he’s just happy to have something to focus on besides Hailey.

If this is where the asshole who beat up Beckett’s girl hangs around, the least he can do is make sure another woman of the club is safe. Hell, he hopes to find someone here to pick a fight with because Gavin is in the mood to hit something. Break things. Start a riot.

He sits at the bar and waits. If Marnie’s working tonight, she’ll be walking over to him at some point, and he wishes she’d hurry up. The longer he waits, the more time his mind has to wander to everything he doesn’t want to think about.

Waking up to find Hailey gone felt like a knife to the chest. He did everything he could to show her how he feels. How much he wants to make this thing between them work, even if she’s in Riverview. Hell, if she wanted to move across the country, he’d figure out how to make it work.

The club is his legacy, but he’s not sure he’s as devoted to it as she thinks he is. Hailey’s used to people leaving her, and it makes sense she wants to get a jump start on the leaving. It’s less painful being the one to leave than it is being the one being left.

Would I leave the club for her?

It’s a thought he’s had over and over again since she broke up with him when she left for school. The club is all he’s ever wanted… Until her.

Something about Hailey just won’t allow him to let go, and as much as he hates to admit it, he would give up the club for her.

He’d move across the country and start a whole new life if she asked him to.

His skill set is rather limited at the moment, but he’d learn.

Whatever it takes to be with her, he would be willing to do anything. She won’t let him.

Why can’t she just let me love her, dammit?

“Are you okay?”

Gavin jumps and looks at a pretty blonde standing by the bar wearing a black apron with a white button-down shirt with one too many buttons undone. Not that he minds the peek at her cleavage.

“Uh, I’m fine.”

“Can I get something for you?”

She looks familiar, but he can’t quite place her. “I’m looking for Melanie. Is she working tonight?”

“Sorry, she has tonight off. Is there something I can help you with?”

So much for having something to occupy his mind for a while. He desperately needs something to help him forget he was thrown away like trash. That he wasn’t even worth saying goodbye to this time.

“No, I was just… Never mind.”

“You’re not into her, right?”

He laughs. “What?”

“Just making sure. I know you’re dating Hailey Lawrence, but Marnie’s hot and a little older. And she’s totally in love with this scary guy. Just wanted to warn you in case that was what was going on.”

This woman could have just stabbed him in the heart, and it wouldn’t have hurt any less to hear her say he’s dating Hailey. “I’m not into Marnie. And I’m not dating Hailey anymore. Just needed to check and make sure Marnie’s all good. It’s… kind of a long story, I guess.”

“Well, that’s nice of you.”

Not really my decision, but it’s not a bad feeling to be thought of as nice.

“I’m Gavin, by the way. My dad’s the VP of the club. I’m just a Prospect for a while still.”

She smiles, and one of her top teeth sticks out just a bit from the rest of them. Unlike Hailey’s teeth that are almost perfectly straight without ever having worn braces.

“You don’t remember me, do you?”

Shaking his head, he frowns and shrugs. “I’m sorry, I don’t. Have we met?”

“I graduated with you,” she says. “Mary Elizabeth Smith, but everyone calls me Emme.”

“Emme?”

“Kind of like Eminem. His initials are M.M., so he uses the phonetic spelling. Mine are M.E., so that’s how I got Emme. Get it?”

He can’t stop the smirk. This woman just used an Eminem reference, and not many others her age would have even thought of it. “I get it. That’s pretty cool.”

“So, you’re not dating Hailey anymore?”

And the knife gets twisted. “No, we’re not together anymore.”

“Well, if you’re ever free some night and want to hang out, let me know.”

She takes off her black apron and sets it on the counter with the tablet she uses to take orders with. “Are you off work?”

“Yeah, I just closed out my last table a few minutes ago. I was going to stick around if you were ordering something.”

“Wanna hang out? My apartment isn’t that far from here. I was just going to go home and order a pizza and drink alone.”

Emme gives him a coy look. “No club business tonight?”

“Trust me, being a Prospect is nothing like being a member. I don’t know much about club business, and my tasks are glorified janitorial work. Which I’ve been given the night off from.”

“Can I take a ride on your motorcycle? You do have one, right?”

“Yes, I have one. And sure.”

Leading the way, she heads out the front, and he guides her to his bike parked along the front. A perk of driving a motorcycle is the number of non-parking spots he’s allowed to use.

Gavin sits on his bike and starts it. Handing her a helmet, she puts it on her head, sits behind him, and wraps her arms around his waist. Her fingers dangle dangerously close to an area no one but Hailey has had in a long while, and he forces himself to focus on riding rather than how hard he is with her chest pressed unnecessarily hard against his back.

“You weren’t kidding when you said it wasn’t far,” Emme says and climbs off the back.

“Nope, I wasn’t kidding.”

A known smirk on her face tells him she knows how much her body against his affected him. She’s not Hailey, but the last thing he needs is someone who reminds him of her. Maybe, just maybe, he can get her off his mind for a short while.

P anting, Gavin closes his eyes as Emme kisses his naked chest. The moment he closed the apartment door, she was on him. Her lips and tongue distracting him from his thoughts of Hailey while they strip naked prove to be just what he needs.

“This is the first time I’ve had sex on this couch,” he says. “Just got it delivered yesterday.”

Emme looks up and smiles. “I’m glad I can help you break it in.”

“You know, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I invited you over.”

She climbs off of him and smiles as she stands in her glorious nakedness. There’s no question she’s hot, and she shocks him when she takes the filled condom off his spent cock, ties the open end, and takes it to the bathroom with her.

“I did,” she calls.

“You did?”

“I did,” she says, returning and climbing back on top of him. “I’ve had a crush on you since the fifth grade. You just never gave me the time of day. You normally prefer brunettes, but I can’t pull off dark hair. It makes me look sickly.”

He runs his fingers through her blonde locks, and he has to admit he does prefer brunettes. But any brunette right now will only remind him of the woman who left him. “I think your hair is nice.”

“I think your cock is nice.”

Gavin freezes and looks at her. There are a lot more women like Melanie in the world than he thought. He really thought she was one of the only women out there this brazen and unabashed about sex. At least, upon first meeting.

“Really? Nice?”

“Right now, yeah,” she says and bites her lower lip as she looks up at him through her lashes. “When it’s hard, though, it’s fantastic.”

“Hard to argue that,” he jokes. “I love how you have no shame in your game. You saw what you wanted, and you took it.”

“You don’t think it makes me a slut?”

The question from anyone else would have sounded like an insecurity. For her, though, she looks almost like she’d like to have this title. Which concerns him just a bit.

“I think you’re a woman who can make a decision and go for it.”

“I like that,” she says. “Now, I believe you mentioned something about pizza.”

Reaching down to his pants on the floor, he grabs his phone. “What do you like?”

“What we just did was great, but I’m usually a hard and fast kind of girl.”

His eyebrow lifts as he studies her. “Is that right?”

“But I’m not picky when it comes to pizza. As long as there’s meat, I’m a happy girl.”

Everything that comes from those luscious lips is seductive, and he does his best to focus on the pizza he’s picking in the app. But when she slides down his body and wraps those full lips around him, taking him fully into her mouth, he fumbles, nearly dropping the phone.

He can’t bring himself to care what he just ordered. What man really would?

“You really do just take what you want, don’t you?” he mumbles before taking her by the hair and sliding her along his length. “Oh, fuck.”

Emme fucks him with her mouth until he’s on the edge, and she pulls back. “Got another condom?”

“Bedroom,” he says, and she motions for him to stay.

Gavin has no issues following commands right now, and he looks around to see his balcony blinds are wide open. Anyone home across the courtyard is getting one hell of a view.

Just as he stands to close them, Emme returns. “Leave them open. I like an audience.”

The idea doesn’t quite sit well with him, but he’s hard, and she’s willing. He’s not going to argue with her right now, especially when she falls to her knees and slides the latex on him.

Bending over the arm of the couch, she spreads her legs wide.

He chuckles and walks up behind her, kneading her thick ass as he positions himself at her opening. “No one can ever complain about you being mysterious about what you want.”

“Hard. Fast. That cool?”

Slamming into her, the couch moves and bangs against the wall. Part of him expected a cry of pain, but she moans instead.

Yep, pretty sure I just found a younger Melanie.

He grips her hips and goes to town, giving her just what she asked for.

Sometimes, his exes have wanted this thinking he did, and they don’t get off.

He always does, but he’s a guy. Emme, though?

She comes within minutes, and he manages to keep up the pace until she has a second before blowing his load.

Bending over to rest his chest on her back, Gavin pants and catches his breath. Her body trembles beneath him as she attempts to settle down as well.

“I knew you’d be a good fuck. Damn,” she says.

He slides out of her and takes the condom off. “I didn’t know women got off like that.”

“I get off pretty much every way,” she says and stands. “I’m an easy woman to please.”

“I’m learning that.”

“Care if I eat naked?”

Raising an eyebrow, he laughs. “That a trick question?”

“Some guys get intimidated by a woman confident in her body. I find it saves time when there’s a solid chance of getting laid again.”

“You want to fuck again?”

She smirks and walks towards him, rubbing her hard nipples against his chest. “I always want to fuck. I’ve got the libido of a teenage boy, I swear.”

“Come again?”

“Oh, I’d love to. It’s probably a problem, but I always think about sex. If I don’t get it, I have toys to tide me over. Getting off is necessary to fall asleep.”

A quick knock stops him from asking one of at least twenty questions that pop into his mind, and he knows the pizza sit outside the door. Grabbing his boxers, he covers his junk before opening the door to grab it.

“What’d you order?”

“I have no fucking idea,” he admits. “I was a bit distracted. Someone decided to have my cock as an appetizer.”

Beaming, she walks to the fridge to pull out two beers. “Good. We can both be surprised.”

Oh, believe me. This has been one hell of a surprise.

“I’m glad you came into the restaurant tonight, Gavin.”

“Yeah? Me, too.”
