Chapter 6
Chapter

Evander was amazed at how Orion had the tools and the ability to open up a whole dimension.
The Glade reminded him of home, but there was a quality to the light and the colors of the land and sky that dazzled his eyes.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Corbin asked.
“A little.”
Orion chuckled from behind them, Tisi and Serena flying by his shoulder. “Watch out for the pixies. I’m going to go see the dads and give them some grandda time. Just give me a shout if you need me.”
“Thanks, Orion. We’ll meet you back here?”
Orion nodded to Corbin. “Sure, it’s not like I wouldn’t be able to find you. You know Serena has a nose.”
Corbin laughed, and suddenly there was this lovely, slender, bright green dragon in front of him, flying up in the air and turning in circles. It was beautiful and wild, and all of the grasses around him perked up, flowers blooming as Corbin spun.
Orion chuckled softly. “Now there’s some magic.”
Do you want me to carry you? Corbin asked, sounding a little unsure, which Evander understood because he was a large fae and grounded to the earth like a loadstone.
No. I will summon my wild side and run with you. He thought about a giant stag, about horns and leaping and running like the wind. He could keep up with his sleek, speedy dragon.
He could feel Corbin’s awe through their bond, awe and need. Someone found him incredibly sexual in this form.
Not just this form. You’re hot in all the forms. Corbin swooped down, claws catching his antlers just so. You do it for me, you know?
I do. Because I want you all the time. He took off for the forest he could see not too far away, wanting the challenge of the trees. Corbin would be able to flit around them.
Also, it might afford them some privacy if there weren’t dryads.
Corbin could fly like the wind, keeping up with him easily. Everywhere they went, things bloomed and grew—it was amazing because, well, that was his job too.
In the winter, we’ll make babies grow.
He wasn’t sure that that thought was meant for him, but he heard it. Corbin’s desire was clear as a bell.
We will. We’ll make babies grow. Friends for the little ones who are there.
Are you going to be happy in a house? Corbin flew behind a tree, almost hiding from him. Are you going to be angry if you’re stuck inside?
We’ll go to the Land of Summer whenever we want. No one can deny our mating. He paused, daring to tease. Even if I have vampirism and unicorn in me.
There’s no vampire in you. No vampires, maybe a touch of unicorn.
He chuckled softly, zipping around to poke Corbin in the butt. Are you sure you don’t mind having a little bit of unicorn in me?
I have a brother who’s had a lot of unicorn inside of him, and I still like him.
That’s terrible. Evander wrinkled his nose. No one wants to think about that!
You’re not curious about whether or not unicorns are hung like mooses?
The only thing I want you to be curious about is whether or not I am hung like a moose.
A giant stag. He didn’t notice a hint of disparagement in that thought, more just a happy little hum.
Your giant stag. Just remember that.
As if I could forget. Corbin shot off again, dancing through the trees. It was like a lightning bolt of joy landing on the ground, causing golden blooms to explode all around him before shooting back up into the air. And then suddenly there were apples falling at his feet.
You’re very fertile right now, my dear.
What if I’m already pregnant? It could happen.
It could. And if you are, then we’ll have babies. And if you aren’t, then one day you will be. And if you never are, then we will continue to practice for an eternity.
Making love was, after all, what he was created for.
Corbin’s laughter rang out, bouncing off the trees, making vines grow, making flowers appear in any patch of sun that filtered through branches.
They ran and flew until they circled back to almost where they started, where Evander paused to gather nuts and apples in his fae man form.
Corbin settled next to him, smiling at him and leaning hard against his leg, slowly turning back into the beautiful man that he knew.
“You are a lovely dragon.”
“Thank you. I always feel bad for Cosmo because Hawk’s such a huge dragon, and Cosmo isn’t. For me and Cullen, it’s less of an issue.” Corbin kissed his thigh.
“Does Hawk care?” he asked, because he’d seen them together and he doubted it.
“No, Hawk adores him. Cosmo could be headless and have flippers for arms, and Hawk would still adore him.”
Evander stared at Corbin. “That’s an awful thing to say.”
“But it’s true. I mean, not that he is headless, but that Hawk would love him regardless.”
“Thank the goddess for that.” He blinked. And they thought his kind were wild. “You have an amazing mind.”
“I think part of that comes from being a triplet. I’m so used to just blurting out whatever is in my head to them, and they don’t care because their minds are just as weird.”
Evander stroked Corbin’s green, springy hair. It was like moss but not that tightly packed. It was beautiful. Silky. Such a natural wonder. “I can understand that. I don’t really think that you’re weird. I think that you’re stunning.”
Corbin crawled up his body to kiss him. It wasn’t urgent or desperate. It was just a thank you, he thought.
“Nobody’s ever thought I was stunning before.” Corbin laughed a little bit, his cheeks turning a much darker green. “But I’m glad you do. You’re the one I want anyway.” This long, clever finger stroked his chest, Corbin loving on him.
If his mate wasn’t careful. They were going to need probably more privacy than they had right now. Having a good run tended to do that to him, but with Corbin right here, he was becoming… needy.
“That’s okay. Nobody’s gonna bother us here. The residents of the Glade tend to be understanding about such things.” Corbin’s smile had gone from mischievous to heated, and Evander felt his body respond.
“Oh good.” He ran a hand down Corbin’s back, feeling the warm, smooth skin, the little bumps of Corbin’s spine, and some rough little scales that were just the perfect shade to contrast with the rest of Corbin’s flesh.
“Mmmhmm.” Corbin sounded distracted, and that was probably because he was nibbling on Evander’s chin and then up to his lower lip.
He had to laugh at that, because Corbin could be very focused when he wanted to be. He pulled Corbin fully into his lap, letting his mate straddle his legs. “Well, we shouldn’t waste our time, should we?”
“Absolutely not. We need to use it to our advantage.” Corbin licked his lips and then kissed him deep and hard. The feeling shot from his mouth all the way down to his groin. His mate was perfect in every way.
Evander just laughed for sheer joy and turned his mate underneath him, spreading his legs and setting about to show him exactly how little time he felt they needed to waste.
If they were a little bit late to meet Orion, it wouldn’t matter. This was necessary. Right now.
