Chapter 6
Chapter Six
Cami
After breakfast, Lex took my hand, and I let him lead the way across the Ranch grounds.
The air smelled faintly of pine and wood smoke, the sun low, casting golden light across the sprawling property.
I couldn’t stop taking in the size of the place, the way the buildings seemed purposeful, the way the open space made my chest feel lighter somehow.
“We can start wherever you want,” he said with a small smile. “There’s a lot to see.”
I chose the Dungeon first. We’d breezed through everything the other day and now there was time to clarify things that I hadn’t been able to before.
Lex had obtained permission for us to visit when the Dungeon was closed so that I was able to explore without pressure.
Lex showed me to one of the private rooms that was left open for us.
I let my fingers brush along the leather of a flogger, lingering for a moment before pulling my hand back, self-conscious.
“It’s intense,” I whispered, scanning the benches, racks, and implement armoires along the walls.
“It’s not about intimidation,” Lex said softly, his hand brushing against mine. “It’s about trust. Control. Exploration. This is where people confront themselves, their limits, and their desires—all in a safe space. Everything here is designed for that.”
I looked up at him, caught in that mix of admiration and curiosity that always made my chest tighten. “It’s incredible. And kind of scary… in a good way. One day…”
Lex waited for me to say more, but I chose to keep it to myself.
I hoped that one day I could trust someone enough that I could open up and let myself experience everything I dared to desire.
I looked over Lex, feeling the pull toward him.
Could he be the man who I submitted to in this way?
Would he expose the things that even I didn’t quite understand yet?
He sure as hell had last night when he’d spanked me.
“One day, what, little one?” he asked.
Deciding on something less vulnerable to say, I answered. “One day I’d like to do more than observe.”
Lex hummed. “I would love to be there when that happens. We’ve only dabbled in the formal things. However, Rawhide Ranch is a safe space that I think you’ll enjoy.”
“With you and Majesty?” I looked up at him.
“We’ll always be a safe space. Let us know when you’re ready.”
I nodded. “Yes, Sir.”
“Good girl,” he said hoarsely. Suddenly, the room seemed too small and there wasn’t enough space for the two of us in here. Desire seemed to roar from Lex and we were never going to make it through this tour if I wasn’t careful.
Slowly, I backed away. “We should finish the tour,” I admitted.
“Then keep moving. I’ve seen it all and what I want is already in this room.”
I sighed. “I… the tour, Sir.”
Lex nodded and moved out of the way of the door. “Lead the way.”
I quickly passed him, afraid that he was going to grab me, fuck me, and make me beg for more. Wait, that wasn’t a bad thing. In fact…
Focus.
We continued on, moving through the themed rooms, the pool, gym, the arcade.
He explained the reasoning behind every detail, from the furniture placement to the room layouts.
I asked questions, listened, and laughed at a few of his little jokes.
We played Pac-man and when I won, ready to claim my prize, he began dancing around the room like he’d agreed to do.
I leaned over the table holding my sides from laughing so hard.
Where had he learned these horrendous dances?
“Next time, I won’t be distracted by your little wiggles, shouts at the screen, and lip-biting antics while you try to kill me off. I’ll win and get exactly what I want.” He stepped closer. “Right here.”
I swallowed looking up at Lex. “You think that I’d have chanced you coming up with some kind of sadistic prize if you’d won? I don’t think that’s allowed.” I whispered the next part, “There are Littles around.”
“I do and sometimes the Littles need to go find their Mommies and Daddies while the adults play.”
I felt my eyes widen in shock. “You are a bad boy, Lex,” I pretended to chastise.
“Yes, Ma’am. And this boy will redden your bottom so good that you’ll forget that you were the one running this show. Care to switch roles now, Ma’am?”
I shook my head. “No, Sir.”
“Good girl.” He smirked.
“You don’t play fair,” I mumbled, but my body was ready for Lex to cash in everything that he’d said. I already knew he was capable, so my imagination didn’t have to do much work.
“But I do. I always follow the rules. It seems as if you’ve forgotten them.”
“I haven’t. I’m in control,” I confirmed to him.
“You are. And if you want to be the Domme, I’ll let you be. You can’t get upset when the Domme ends up being used by the submissive ‘boy’ as his own personal fucktoy.”
“See!” I shouted. “That’s not the way this works.”
He held his hands up in surrender. “I’m only playing the hand I was dealt.”
I rolled my eyes upward toward the ceiling, and Lex backed me against the wall.
“Are the Littles rubbing off on you? Are your eyes broken?” he asked while hovering above me.
“No, Sir.”
“Then…”
I licked my lips nervously. “I was checking the ceiling for spiders. Didn’t you say this building has been here for a while?”
Lex snickered. “Good catch, brat.” He kissed my nose and turned to walk toward the exit.
I exhaled, grateful that he’d given me grace. There was something about being on the Ranch that made Lex more aggressive. I loved it; it was like his own walls were falling and he was letting me in more. I hurried after him, not wanting to get in trouble for being out of sight.
Back upstairs, I spotted Majesty and another man walking toward us. I felt my smile melt when I looked at their faces. The other guy’s expression was professional, but Majesty’s eyes immediately locked on Lex with that unmistakable urgency. This didn’t bode well for the rest of our day.
“Lex,” Majesty called out, voice firm, carrying across the distance. “Derek needs to talk over some of the material for the class and some safety checks.”
Lex glanced back at me, ready to argue, but I interrupted him with a quiet firmness. “Go,” I said. My voice had no hesitation. “It’s fine. I’ll explore on my own. I’d never interrupt your job, especially when it’s the reason we’re here. You can make it up to me later.”
Majesty’s gaze softened as he looked at me. “I’ll make sure she’s okay,” he said, nodding in my direction. “I can finish the tour.”
“See.” I smiled at Lex, trying to convey reassurance. “I’m okay, promise. Go handle it, Sir.”
He exhaled, clearly torn, but he kissed my forehead before he turned and jogged toward the main lobby with Derek, leaving me with Majesty in the hall.
Even as I watched him go, I could feel the pull of him in my chest, the mix of longing and anticipation twisting in my stomach. I realized I didn’t mind being left behind if it meant he could focus on what needed to be done. Then I could spend time with him later.
Majesty stepped closer, his presence grounding, his eyes seemed to survey my mood when they met mine. “You okay?” he asked, voice low, almost careful.
I nodded, though my heart was still pounding. “I’ll be fine.”
Majesty glanced at me, a small smirk tugging at his lips. “I know Lex has somewhere for you to be in about twenty minutes,” he said, voice low, just enough for me to hear. “I’ll walk you over.”
I nodded, feeling a little flutter in my chest. It wasn’t just the proximity to him, but that calm certainty he carried, the kind of confidence that made me trust that he knew what he was doing.
He steered me toward the Ranch shop. “You can’t go in those sneakers,” he said with a playful glance down at my feet. “Cowgirl boots are non-negotiable.”
I laughed, letting him guide me to the display. He picked out a pair, holding them up for me to see. “These,” he said, “fit your style—and your legs.”
I rolled my eyes but let him help me slip them on.
The gentle way he took over, removing my sneakers and putting the boots on slowly, made me feel cared for in a way that I hadn’t expected.
The leather was soft and molded perfectly to my calves.
He definitely knew what he was talking about.
These were perfect. I loved the pale pink stitching in the caramel leather. They were beautiful on my feet.
I flexed and then wiggled my toes, grinning. “I feel powerful already,” I said.
The boots felt strange like I was stepping into something new, but in a good way. Majesty stood beside me, arms folded, eyes sweeping down to the perfectly scuffed leather with a small approving grin.
“Mhm…” he said. “Now you look like you belong here.”
I arched a brow. “Next thing you’ll tell me is I need a hat.”
He chuckled. “Not unless you want one. Don’t want to spook any of the animals before you’ve met them.”
“Animals?” I asked.
Majesty smiled and put my sneakers in a bag the cashier offered, then we hurried outside. He motioned toward a dirt path lined with fences and sunlit grass that led to a large red barn. A hand-painted sign above the door read: Reese’s Perfectly Imperfect Animal Rescue.
“Perfectly imperfect,” I said aloud. “That’s… kind of perfect.”
“Fits her and the crew inside,” Majesty replied, holding the barn door open for me.
The moment I stepped in, I was hit with the sound of bleating goats, soft clucks, and one very bossy voice that didn’t sound human.
“I’m the boss!” squawked a gray parrot perched high on a post.
“Bossy P,” Majesty said, pointing up with a grin. “He’s Reese’s African Grey. Thinks he runs the place—and honestly, he’s not wrong.”
“I’m the boss!” the parrot repeated, fluffing his feathers. Then, “Find the duck!”
Majesty muttered under his breath, “He always says that right before the goats cause trouble.”
“Go to the barn!” the bird added, which made Majesty roll his eyes.
“Already in the barn, genius.”
That made me laugh, and the bird squawked as if laughing back.
