33. Cash #2
I grunted. I hadn’t bothered to check it. All I cared about was getting clean.
She sighed, continuing to clean my body. “It’s pretty typical for someone to get a dressing wet when they’re trying to heal,” she said mockingly.
Yeah, she was pissed, but at the moment, I could hardly bring myself to care. I rested my head against the shower and let the water beat down against my body. It felt like a massage, which confirmed my suspicions.
I was fucking wrecked.
But then again, I hadn’t been wearing a seat belt during the crash, so the fact that I was even still alive was amazing.
When Eva finished washing the back of me, she moved onto the front, getting down on her knees to wash everything from my toes to my cock, which was straining at the sight of her mouth so close to it.
But sadly, she moved on, smirking at me for even thinking I was going to get a little help with my morning wood.
“What’s wrong, Cash? Do you need some help?”
I sucked in a ragged breath when her hand wrapped around my length and stroked gently. That sexy smirk on her face was nearly my undoing. With strength I didn’t know I had, I grabbed her and spun her around, pressing her against the wall. All the while, she continued to stroke me.
“Don’t tease me, kitten.”
“I hardly think you could call this teasing when I have you by the balls.” Then she slid her hand under my cock and gripped my balls. “Literally.”
I crushed my mouth to hers, kissing her savagely as her hand slid back to my cock and stroked me hard and fast. I was panting, coming apart in her hands so easily, it was laughable.
All it took was two minutes and I was spilling my cum in her hand, wishing it was her pretty little mouth. But beggars couldn’t be choosers.
“There,” she smirked. “All better.”
I wasn’t at all better. In fact, I wanted her even more now than I had when I got in the shower. But as my fingers slid through her pussy, she gripped my hand and shot me a warning look.
“I think we have more important things to do.”
Never had she turned me down.
Never .
“Eva—”
“Relax, Cash.” Her smile eased the panic inside me momentarily. “I still love you. I still want you. But we have things to do, and as much as I would love to hide in here with you, you’ve been sleeping for nearly two days.”
That shocked the hell out of me. “Say what?”
The devious look on her face said it all.
“You had FNG give me more drugs.”
“You needed the rest, and you still do,” she shrugged. “I make no apologies for my choices.”
“Eva—”
“No,” she snapped, her voice losing all playfulness. “We’ve done things your way for way too fucking long. Now, we’re going to do things my way. And that includes giving you two fucking days to heal after you were nearly killed in a car crash.”
“There’s no time to rest,” I argued. “The Shadow Government is out there?—”
“Need I remind you that I found you in an alley, passed out in a puddle of piss and nearly dead?” she shouted.
“If it weren’t for me tracking you, you would have fucking died out there.
So, you’re going to stop giving me shit about the fact that I forced you to rest, and you’re going to let the rest of us help you because that’s what family does for each other. Am I clear?”
If there was one thing I knew for certain, it was that arguing with my hot-tempered wife when she was like this was beyond pointless.
Besides, she was fucking sexy when she bossed me around, though I would never tell her that. So, I gritted my teeth and pretended I was pissed at her.
“Crystal.”
“Good. Now, wash your hair and get out of the shower. We have work to do.”
“I—”
She turned back to me, her eyes waiting expectantly for what I had to say. She wanted to smack the shit out of me, and I had to get her back on my good side, so I played up the injured spouse card to my advantage.
I rolled my eyes, sighing heavily as I looked away from her. “I…don’t think I can lift my arms.”
“Christ, Cash,” she muttered, snatching the shampoo off the shelf. “Turn around.”
As I did, I bit back my grin at having won her over.
Within seconds, she was gently washing my hair, her fingers working deftly through my strands, but also massaging my scalp.
By the time she was done, she was rubbing my neck as well, working out the kinks I didn’t even know were there. Fuck, she was good at this.
“Thanks, kitten,” I mumbled, grateful for such a giving wife.
“You know, next time you want me to do something, you don’t have to play the injured man card. I would have done it for you if you’d just asked.”
I spun and snagged her around the waist, drawing her in closer. “I know you would have, but I like this side of you so much better.”
“And what side is that?” she asked, her breath catching as I nipped at her neck.
“The side where you act as if I’m about to break. I love being strong for you, but I would be a fool to turn away the opportunity to have your hands on me like they just were.”
She rolled her eyes, but there was no missing the way her cheeks stained red.
My thumb brushed across the apple of her cheek as I cupped her face. God, this woman was so fucking perfect, and I was a fool for ever thinking I was protecting her by leaving. “I love you, Eva. And I’m sorry for what I did to you. For all of it,” I choked out as shame filled my voice.
“Hey, we’re going to be okay. We’re going to figure this out and walk away even stronger.”
“But at what cost?” I asked, the worries rushing back in full force. “Who will pay the price for us fighting back?”
“Hopefully, no one but them,” she answered the only way she could. “We have each other, and we have to trust that we’re all strong enough to do what needs to be done, and we’ll come out on top for it.”
It was wishful thinking, but maybe I needed some of that right now. After all, going it alone hadn’t been working out really great as of late.
“Come on. Let’s get you dressed and play catch-up. A package arrived for you while you were out of it.”
“A package?” I asked, my hackles rising instantly. “No one knows where we are. Right?”
“It’s from your father. Apparently, he always knows where you are.”
