I punched his stupid ass in the face grinning through my anger when I felt a bone in his face shift beneath my fist. You’d think this man would be tired of having me fuck him up but he had the survival instincts of a slug with a salt fetish.
“Did you forget you put your hands on her? That you were trying to show her how good y’all could be together when we rolled up in that bitch?”
I’d promised my brother I wouldn’t kill this nigga.
But the idea that he thought he was gonna push up on Charisma had me seeing red.
It was why I understood Maalika’s anger at that piece of shit I roped earlier.
He’d actually heard her no and ignored it.
Trent’s death coming so close after everything that happened in Texas would’ve made it obvious I was guilty.
I could’ve easily had an alibi concocted, but I didn’t want our relationship to be overshadowed by this nigga’s death.
I’d rather destroy his reputation the way he destroyed Charisma’s and be around to watch his downfall.
“C’mon man. Please, all of this is unnecessary!” He was on the ground and I was standing over him ready to boot scoot and boogie my feet all over his body.
I knew I wore my boots for a reason.
“Unnecessary? See that’s how I know you never really cared about her. Not as a friend and defiantly not as a potential partner. It’s all very necessary and right now I’m holding back because again, I’m a changed man. Love does that to you.”
That wasn’t true. He didn’t need to know that Charmy made me promise to keep my hands clean when it came to this sack of shit.
I promised I would and that I wouldn’t kill him.
That didn’t mean I wasn’t going to systematically fuck up everything he held dear.
The first thing was his reputation. Charisma failed to understand how much people in her town loved her and her parents.
And when it came out that Trent, the so called golden boy, was really just a ho and his extensive list of hookups came out the woodwork including a woman that was pregnant with his second child, that image he coveted was shot.
His mama and daddy ain’t even know they had a grandkid so to find out a second was coming while he denied the first made them furious.
That news came out and he tried to deny both kids but their mothers said they were willing to take paternity tests.
His parents forced him into it and of course he was the daddy.
“You want sympathy? You want me out here singing Trent’s Requiem or some shit?”
“What does Beyoncé have to do with this?”
I rolled my eyes because despite referencing the queen this nigga was uncultured as fuck.
“A requiem is a musical score that pays tribute to something that has died. You want me to feel bad for ruining your life when I’m the one who orchestrated the fucking fall?
I said I was going to spare you but now you’re showing me how fucking stupid you are.
I might have to just ask my forgiveness when I get home. ”
He put his hands up like I was going to be sloppy enough to shoot him right now with no plan. “Wait!”
“Put your damn hands down. You the last person in the world that would force me to break a promise to Charisma. Just know that if you don’t leave her alone this time, you never know when I’m coming back for you.
You’re a pathetic excuse for a man. I’m disgusted that you even have a dick and fucked up by procreating.
Your mama and daddy cutting off the purse strings so they could take care of your kids since you failed to was smart.
Get your shit together. You over here whining instead of manning up and fixing your shit.
And you think you would’ve bagged a woman like Charmy? ”
“I knew her before you did. I was going to do right by her but you fucked that up.” This man had tears in his eyes like losing Charisma was worse than everything else.
“You can’t even do right by your kids but you think you would’ve done right by Charisma?”
Those tears dried up fast as fuck. “Those aren’t my—”
I could only chuckle because this nigga’s head was all fucked up. “Nigga, you are clinically unwell but that shit ain’t got nothing to do with me. Stay away from my girl and figure your shit out. I just needed to knock you around again for calling her. Don’t make that mistake again.”
I dipped my head almost praying this nigga did something crazy but he stayed on the ground huffing and puffing. I turned my back because I wasn’t worried about how he was going to react. My reaction time was much quicker than his and he’d be leaking if he tried me.
I stepped out of his house to the rental car parked down the street. My job here was done for now.
His pride hadn’t died yet despite everything he’d already been through.
But his survival was all up to him. If he got his shit together he could rebuild everything he lost. If he didn’t, there was a pound of laced weed with his name on it that his dealer was holding.
As soon as he got the word he was handing it over to this piece of shit so he could further deteriorate.
My mercy was giving him a chance, it was up to him if he took it.
