Chapter 28

They wrapped filming two weeks before Sylvia gave birth. Thankfully, it had worked perfectly with the script, and she had been hale and hearty through the whole process.

Bo smiled as Windsor held the tiny baby girl in her arms. She looked good with a baby. He was going to have to ask her if she wanted one or two of her own. No matter what she decided, he was here for it.

They were back in LA to pack up the things she needed and had decided to keep her house as a place to crash whenever they were in town.

Lyric was joining Windsor in moving permanently to Montana. She wanted a little garden, and Eph wanted to give her a baby of their own. Their wedding was planned for later this year, and Bo already knew he was paying off Eph’s house as their wedding present.

“You ever heard of Clark Fork? Near the Idaho border?” Butch asked him.

“Yeah, it’s not far from the ranch. You’re really thinking of getting out of the city and moving to BFE like me?”

“Do you see that baby girl right there?” his friend asked rhetorically. “Because she deserves better than to grow up in smog and crime. Which is why we closed three days ago on our own little cabin on fifty acres with a view of the river.”

“And you didn’t tell me? We’ll practically be neighbors.” Bo held out his hand to shake Butch’s. “Congrats, man. That’s amazing. I think you guys will love it.”

“Good. I plan on using that gym of yours as often as I can.”

“You guys skipping the premiere?”

“We’ll be there.”

“I would skip it if we could, but …”

Butch chuckled and finished it for him. “It’s in the damn contract.”

“The only upside is I finally get to walk the red carpet with my wife.”

They’d turned the wrap party into a wedding, but instead of the one they’d filmed, this one was for real.

With the cast and crew cheering, he dipped Windsor as he kissed her for the very first time as his wife.

She wore cowboy boots and a white sundress.

It had been better than anything he’d ever imagined for them. Now, she was well and truly his.

To say that Windsor had changed during the four months she’d been in Montana was an understatement.

Well, maybe not changed per se. She’d evolved.

She’d become a new, incredible version of the woman he’d been in love with for years.

Except she was better than any fantasy he’d ever had about her.

Because this version of Windsor was real.

He’d said he hadn’t wanted her going back to LA without his ring on her finger or without him beside her, and she hadn’t.

Bo had been shocked when she suggested getting married at the wrap party. But she said all the people in the world she cared about were already there, so why wait another minute? His sister, her husband, and their six other kids came for it, too, which made Bo’s instant yes a no-brainer.

The justice of the peace had happily driven out to make it legal, which was just one more reason he loved living in Thompson Falls.

And now, as Windsor handed Sylvia’s precious baby girl back to her, Bo knew that it didn’t matter what came next.

He had more than he’d ever dreamed possible, and he couldn’t wait to finish packing her stuff and get her out of LA permanently.

“We’ll see you when we get moved in, buddy.”

He smiled at Butch. “Absolutely. Windsor will love having you guys close. I think it’ll make the transition easier for both of them.” Not that he was worried about it. Not when after four months at the ranch, she still said she never wanted to leave.

Regardless, anything that made Windsor happier, he was all for.

She was his, and he wanted her to thank God every day for the decision she’d made. When she came toward him, beaming, she’d never looked more amazing.

“I’m not saying I want one, but I am saying that baby is the cutest I’ve ever seen. Well done, Butch.”

“It was all Sylvia.”

“It seems like it was a joint effort.”

“I did the easy part. Everything else was her.”

Bo held out an arm, and Windsor slid into him like she’d been doing it all her life. The only thing that mattered to Bo was that she was still smiling like that when she was eighty.

“Guess who your new neighbors are going to be.”

“Who?”

“Butch and Sylvia are moving to Clark Fork.”

“Really?” Excitement permeated her tone as she stared open-mouthed at Butch.

“Fell in love with it up there. When Sylvia found it on the internet and we snuck away to take a look at it, we made an offer instantly.”

“Why didn’t you say something?”

“Didn’t want to jinx it. Now, it’s a done deal.”

“Congratulations! And yay. Now, we’ve got built-in friends.” She leaned against Bo’s shoulder. “I don’t think today could get any better.”

“I agree. Now, if you two will excuse me, it’s my turn to hold my baby girl. We’ll see you out in the boonies soon.”
