Saranya Chapter 16

The weekend passed too fast. I dragged myself into work today.

The staff asked if I was alright. I told them I was just a little tired and got to work.

Thankfully, it was another busy day. I did go out on two calls.

I took Owen, as I promised Cowboy I would, when he left me in the parking lot after escorting me this morning.

And I even sent him a text to let him know where I was headed, when I was leaving, and when I got back.

Both house calls went off without a hitch.

Now, the day was over, but we hadn’t gone back to my place.

The reason was that it was Monday night.

The guys had church on Mondays. Cowboy didn’t want to leave me at my place alone, so he brought me with him.

I didn’t mind. Since we were here, we’d stay the night again at his house.

We’d stay at my house tomorrow through Thursday.

That would give us time to box up my things.

Moving was something we talked about after an intense round of sex, after the blow job incident.

He wanted me to move in, and I did too. We agreed to start doing that this week.

Only the personal or valuable things would we pack.

The rest, he insisted, the prospects would do it.

I hated packing, so I gave in to that idea without a fight.

We arrived with mere minutes to spare from Ormond Beach. I’d have him let me come here to meet him next Monday so that he wouldn’t be late. There had been no more letters, and as far as I knew, Micro nor Maddog’s guy, Firewall, had found anything.

While he rushed to get to church, I took the time to change into my comfortable clothing at the house—leggings, a warm tunic sweater, and a pair of tennis shoes.

I ambled over to the clubhouse after I was changed.

It was just after seven o’clock, so they were still in church. I’d wait in the common room for him.

When I got inside, there were no old ladies or kids there. The only person who came and went was Adrian. He asked if I needed anything, to which I said no. He went back to hauling in supplies they’d gone to the store to get. I left him to his work.

With no one there, I wandered the common room, checking out some photos on the walls and then down the hallway to others.

There was a long hall with several rooms. Cowboy explained that initially, all the guys lived in the clubhouse.

Those without houses still did. The other empty rooms served as crash pads for those who were too drunk to get home or for guests.

And a couple were designated purely for sex.

Some of the guys with houses were single but didn’t want to take any of the club sluts or hangers to their homes. I couldn’t blame them.

Some photos were taken many years ago. I knew that based on Diablo.

He was a young man. In a couple of pictures, which must’ve been taken at a family day or something, he was with a young girl.

I assumed it must be his daughter, Brooklyn.

A more recent one showed Diablo, Jauhnna, Jaycee, Chasin, a woman about my age, another biker, who was older than the woman, two young boys, and a toddler girl.

They had to be Diablo’s daughter and her family.

Cowboy had explained that she was married to a biker in Dublin Falls, Tennessee, named Torch.

He was a member of the Archangel’s Warriors MC, a close friend of the Horsemen.

I found all the information my man shared with me regarding the other clubs they were close to and how that came about fascinating. I couldn’t wait to meet them.

When I was done checking out the clubhouse, I went behind the bar to find myself a soda. I was crouched down, rummaging in the fridge, when a woman’s voice caught my attention.

“Michelle, you told me to bring you here because you left your purse the other night. That guy at the gate was nice enough to allow us in. He said someone named Adrian is here and can help you find it. Let’s find him, get your purse, and go.

We shouldn’t be here. I swear this is the last time I help you. Stop snooping,” the woman hissed.

I recognized the voice. It was Skylar. That left me in no doubt who Michelle was. Wanting to see if they were up to no good, or at least Michelle was, I remained hidden where I was.

“Shut up! You’re such a drag. This is the last time I take you with me. I promised Mom I’d watch out for you, but this is ridiculous. You’re an adult. You can take care of your own ass,” her cousin hissed back.

“Fine by me. You have five minutes, then I’m leaving. If you don’t come with me, you can explain to these bikers why you’re here after they had to kick your ass out for pawing that biker. I swear, you have no shame,” Skylar muttered.

“Fuck off. Do you see any of those bitchy old ladies here? No, which means, if their women aren’t around to see, I bet you I can get that Cowboy or any of the others naked in minutes.

They say they’re faithful, but they’re not.

Bikers love to live free. Although I wish I could see that Asian bitch’s face when I fuck her man. ” Her cackle was spiteful.

I barely held myself down. I wanted to pop up and see how her nose looked. I bet she had two black eyes. And I’d give her more bruises to go along with them. There was movement, followed by scraping sounds, like the legs of a chair on a wooden floor.

“Chelle, stop. Don’t go in there. You were only in this room,” Skylar called out. She was keeping her voice soft.

“It doesn’t hurt to look.” After a long pause, the sweet one spoke again.

“Maybe someone stuck your bag behind the bar. Why don’t we look there?” Skylar suggested.

“Whatever. You can do it,” Michelle said dismissively.

Footsteps told me I was about to be discovered.

Staring at the end of the bar, I waited.

Moments later, Skylar came around it. She stumbled to a stop.

Her eyes widened, and a faint gasp escaped.

Somehow, her cousin didn’t hear her. I put my finger up to my lips in a hushing sign.

Skylar gulped, then gave me a slight nod.

“It’s not here. We should go,” she shakily called to Michelle.

“I’m not leaving until the guys come out of their meeting. It surely won’t be long. In the meantime, I feel like a drink. Pour me a shot of tequila,” her cousin ordered.

Skylar glanced at me. I nodded. I wanted Michelle to dig a deep hole for herself.

I would make sure she was banned from here.

As for Skylar, I felt sorry for her. She seemed sweet.

The beautiful redhead moved further behind the bar and found a glass, then a bottle of tequila.

Her hands shook as she poured it. Putting the bottle away, she slid the shot across the bar top.

“Took you long enough,” her cousin snapped. She was on the other side of the bar by the sound of her voice. A few seconds later, I heard the glass hit the bar top.

“Pour me another.”

“No, that’s enough. I’m telling you, we’re leaving. Your purse wasn’t left here, was it? That was just a lie, so I’d bring you here.”

Michelle cackled. “You’re right. I didn’t have it with me.

You’re so stupid. You believe anything you’re told.

You’d better toughen up and learn to take what you want, or life and people will use and abuse you.

If you want to have anything in this world, you have to steal it or find some way to get it, like having sex with a biker and getting knocked up.

If you do that, then you’ve got him on the hook for the next eighteen years.

If you’re lucky, he’ll make you his old lady, and then you’re really in good. ”

“Is that why you’ve been coming here? To get pregnant and hook a biker by being underhanded?” Skylar gasped.

“Of course. Unfortunately, the ones I’ve been with have insisted on wearing condoms they provide, but I’ll get one to slip up. Get him drunk enough, and he’ll forget, or he’ll accept one I have, and they’re full of holes. You’ve seen those houses here. They’ve got money.”

“You’re disgusting. I’m out of here,” Skylar said.

It was time to show myself. I rose to my feet. Skylar froze. The poor thing looked ready to faint. Michelle was looking the other way. I waited for her to turn back. When she did, the expression on her face was worth hiding for. There was shock, a tinge of fear, and then it morphed into anger.

“You, no good little bitch! You knew she was there and you didn’t tell me!” she shrieked.

“That’s right, I did. You deserve for someone to hear what you have planned. I can’t believe we’re related. You’re a horrible human being, Michelle. You can find your own way back to town. And do me a favor. Stay the hell away from me,” Skylar demanded.

As the cousins argued, I took in the sight of Michelle. Both eyes were black as expected, and her nose was swollen and bruised. It might even be a little crooked. I wondered if she’d gone to the doctor to get it looked at. There was another bruise on her jaw.

I knew that any moment, Michelle might bolt, so I sidled over to place myself close to the main door.

Where the hell were the prospects? Who let her in?

Shouldn’t he come looking to see what was taking so long?

I was determined that sneaky bitch wasn’t leaving until after the guys saw her, and I told them what was said.

If any woman deserved to be banned from here, it was her.

Suddenly, Michelle focused her anger on me as she twirled to face me. “I bet you’re not so tough now that you don’t have a whole room full of men standing here to back you up. Last time, you caught me by surprise. You won’t do that again. I owe you, bitch,” she snarled.
