Chapter 31 – Jace

I did exactly what I had promised. I spent all night pleasuring Cassie in ways no other man ever had. On the bed, on the couch, in front of the window as the snow fell outside. If I could think of a place, I made Cassie moan my name there.

Her body was perfect in every way—every curve, every freckle, every scar. She was beautiful inside and out, a fighter and a lover all in one. And she was finally mine.

As she lay next to me in bed, her naked body tucked under the blanket, I couldn’t help but stare at her.

Cassie was a badass. She had one of the shittiest upbringings I could think of, with struggles most people would never understand, yet she still managed to run a successful business and have empathy for every single person she met.

I couldn’t think of a single quality of hers that any man could ever hate.

But that didn’t matter anymore, because she was mine now. And come hell or high water, she was going to be mine forever.

The snow had picked up overnight. Over ten inches had fallen, and it was still coming down.

There was no way we’d get anything done on the ranch today.

The most I could do was ride out later to check on the cattle after clearing some of the main roads up a bit.

Selfishly, I was happy about that. It meant more time here with Cassie—alone.

More love to be made. More ways to pleasure her into oblivion.

But being with Cassie wasn’t just about having sex.

She meant more to me than any other person in the world.

She knew my darkest secrets and even when I managed to hurt her and screw things up, she never betrayed my trust. She never told anyone about my biggest fears or where I went when I needed to clear my head.

I had never brought another woman to this cabin, and I never planned on it after today. Cassie Blake was it for me.

Her body shifted, pulling me from my daydreams. She turned over, nestling deeper into my chest. She was awake, but not ready to get up just yet.

“The snow’s still falling, sugar. No way you’ll make it home today,” I said, kissing the top of her head. “Everything will be closed anyways, at least until they clear some of the roads.”

“Oh no, what ever will I do all day, snowed in at this huge cabin?” she teased, planting soft kisses on my chest.

“I can think of at least one thing,” I said, laughing. “Are you sore from last night?” I rubbed my thumb across her jawline slowly.

“Very.”

“Let me make it better,” I said, positioning my body to hover over hers.

I trailed soft kisses along her stomach, over her scars, and down her hip before gently spreading her legs. I rubbed her clit slowly, trying to massage her more than pleasure her, though combining the two would be perfectly fine.

“Jace, I can’t,” she said, running her hands through my hair as I lowered my face between her legs.

“I’ll be gentle, sugar, I promise.”

Holding her open, I licked her center, massaging her with my tongue. I placed two fingers at her entrance and slowly pushed them inside, watching her as she watched me.

“Does that feel good?”

She shook her head and moaned as I pressed her clit with my thumb, massaging it as she took my fingers deep inside of her.

“Spread your legs wider, baby. You’re gonna take me now, okay? But I promise to be gentle,” I said, freeing my hard cock from the boxers that held it back.

“Jace…”

“Let me fuck you, sugar, then you can go take a hot bath and relax.”

“Please be gentle,” she said, her chest rising quickly.

“I pinky promise.”

As I pushed my tip past Cassie’s entrance, her body clenched, squeezing my cock, her walls getting wetter with each inch.

I thrust in and out slowly, keeping my promise as she lay back with her legs spread wide, trusting me to keep my word.

Her moans told me that whatever soreness she had was fading away as her walls stretched, making room for me.

I wrapped my hand around her hair, pulling gently. Tucking my face into her neck, I sucked gently, pulling the skin between my teeth. It took every ounce of my control not to bend Cassie over this bed and thrust into her with everything I had.

She wanted gentle, so I had to be gentle, even if it was going to kill me.

After a few more soft thrusts, Cassie’s walls tightened around me, tugging my cock harder as I pulled in and out. She was close––so was I.

With a few more thrusts, my hot seed spilled deep inside Cassie for the fifth time in a matter of hours.

She moaned my name in pleasure, scraping her nails down my back and making it even harder for me to maintain what little control I had left.

Her eyes glazed over in lust as she tried to control her breathing.

I pulled out gently as she laid there, cheeks red. “Now go take a hot bubble bath while I start breakfast. Everything you need is already in there. Towels are under the sink,” I said, planting a final kiss on her forehead.

As Cassie made her way into the bathroom, I went into the kitchen and pulled the pans I needed off the hooks, scanning my cabinets for the ingredients. My French toast wasn’t as good as Cassie’s, but I could make a mean waffle, so that would have to do.

As I stood in the kitchen, stirring the bowl of ingredients, I stared out at the fireplace in the living room directly across from me. Usually by now I would have started a fire, but I learned my lesson last night. Cassie wasn’t ready yet, so the thermostat would have to do.

I poured the batter into the waffle maker, pressing it closed as the timer ticked down. Everything about this moment felt surreal. Yesterday, I’d only hoped Cassie would show up to Thanksgiving dinner, but somehow, things had gone so much further between us—beyond my wildest dreams.

The timer dinged, signaling the waffle was ready. As I continued cooking, my phone buzzed against the countertop—Colt.

“Hello?”

“You good over there?” he asked in a worried tone. “We’re pretty much snowed in over here. It’s at least a foot tall,” he said.

“Yeah, same here. Cassie and I are good. She’s taking a hot bath to warm up, and I’m cooking breakfast,” I said, letting him know just a small piece of what was actually happening here.

“Did you sleep good?”

His questioned immediately caught me off guard, because Colt never asked me how well I slept. I could tell he was fishing for details. Probably instructed to do so by Ellie.

“Just fine. In my bed—alone,” I said.

“That’s so weird. Because Ellie just got off the phone with Cassie, and she said you two slept together—but just because you lit a fire and she got scared. So which is it Jace?” he teased, as Ellie snickered in the background.

“Fuck off, I gotta go.” I shook my head at the fact that Cassie and I hadn’t been smart enough to get our story straight before anyone asked about last night.

“I bet you do,” Colt said, laughing along with Ellie now. I ended the call, putting my phone down on the counter.

“Assholes,” I muttered, laughing as I placed the final waffle on the plate.

A loud screech from down the hall abruptly pulled my attention from breakfast to Cassie.

I dashed to the bathroom, plowing past the door, quickly assessing the scene. Cassie was standing in front of the mirror. No blood, no obvious broken bones.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, still searching for what made her scream.

“You gave me a hickey!” she yelled, pointing at the round bruise on her neck where I’d kissed her this morning.

I couldn’t help laughing, even though it would send her into even more of a spiral. She punched me in the shoulder, clearly annoyed by my antics.

“At least you’re snowed in here for the day,” I said, trying to get her to look on the bright side.

“You can always cover it with makeup, right? I’m pretty sure that’s what Molly used to do. Besides, who gives a fuck who sees it anyways? Let them know what’s mine.” I smirked, pulling her body into mine.

“You’re ridiculous,” she said, trying to push me away, but I held on too tight for her to break free.

“I made waffles for breakfast, by the way. They’re ready for you in the kitchen,” I said, not wanting to let her go. “After breakfast, I was thinking about riding out to the pastures and checking on the cattle. Wanna come with?” I hoped she’d say yes despite the bitter cold outside.

“Can I borrow one of your jackets? All I have is my sweater. I didn’t realize it was going to snow this much,” she said, looking out the window at the snow that went on for miles. The creek in front of my cabin had completely frozen over.

“Cass, whatever’s in this cabin is yours to use. Yours to keep. And if you need me to get anything, just let me know, and I’ll make sure you have it for next time,” I said, aware that my words made it very clear to Cassie what my intentions were.

Cassie looked at me, smiling. “What makes you so sure I’ll come back?” she teased, crossing her arms. “Maybe once the snow thaws I leave here and never come back?”

I took a step forward, closing the gap between us. “What makes you so sure I’ll let you leave?” I said, giving her a taunting smile. “What if I keep you trapped in here forever like Rapunzel?”

“What a shame to be trapped in a cabin deep in the woods with a cowboy whose dick is so big I can’t walk straight the next day,” she said, making me laugh.

Fair enough.
