My omega has drenched me like a rainbow storm as I stand there covered in her perfume. Maddock is fuming like a bull, and Everest’s brow stays furrowed.
I want to tell Everest not to beat himself up about it, but Maddock’s being protective again. He sticks next to Everest and keeps throwing me glares before murmuring to our shocked friend, and then more lazer-focused glares.
I can’t say for sure, but it looks like Maddock hasn’t worked out that we've all scent-matched with her. Or if he has, he hasn’t considered what it might mean for the four of us if we take it further.
It’s like he has no faith in me. I can be kind and understanding, too. He just never believes me when I try.
I’ve driven with four different teams since I started in F3, and Everest is the best Pit Stop Boss I’ve worked with. He knows exactly what to do down to the letter, and I want to make sure he knows he doesn’t need to beat himself up about it. I froze the moment I smelled her slick as well.
The only reason I got to her first was that I recovered more quickly than the other two. That’s it. It could have just as easily been Maddock or Everest standing there with their entire bodies soaked in mouthwatering strawberries and cream perfume.
There is no way her pussy isn’t aching for some love. As soon as she peels that suit from her, her perfume is going to explode like a mushroom cloud. If they were thinking straight, Maddock and Everest would get their act together so we could help our omega when she’s that horny.
“What are you guys waiting around for? It's nearly lunchtime,” Jacob shouts from the door of the garage, and everyone jumps.
I’ve been so wrapped up in myself that I hadn't even noticed the rest of the team had started to take care of the cars.
The film crew still stands around us, either quietly or loudly gossiping. Out of around thirty people, only a few of them are actually inspecting the cars or discussing something else about work.
“See? It wasn’t that hard,” one of the omega actors scoff. “We can totally do that.”
I raise an eyebrow, turning to the four actors who will star alongside her.
They’re just here for promotional photographs, and their proper training is waiting in the VR racing simulators.
They are supposed to be Harmony’s co-stars, but she’s a totally different caliber compared to them.
Whether she’s racing or acting, Harmony has an air about that screams ‘star’.
One that most people can’t ever have. Harmony will be a queen, no matter where she goes in life.
And that isn’t just my alpha pride for my omega shining through.
“Hey, Diego,” I call to an engineer who’s sorting out the comms wires at the desk next to us. “Did the actors get their intro vid?”
“Of course they did. Jacob wouldn’t have let them in the garage if they hadn’t.”
“Good, it looks like they need the real crash course as well. Can you get them set up after lunch? I’d like to see how many of them toss it back up once they’ve seen it.”
I give the group of actors a cheery smile, but they all just nod innocently in return, like they haven’t just been bitching about my sport. They don’t know what they’re in for.
Anyone who approaches F1 thinking they just have to know how to drive a car is way off. And people like that need a proper sit-down. We aren’t just kids who got picked out of a draw—we worked ourselves to the bone to get here.
The crash course video is the best for that. A whole hour of unhinged chaos with gory images of the worst crashes and deaths in F1. It’s a tough watch, but if they want to act as F1 drivers, they have to understand what they are getting into.
They need to know about tire failure and fires and spin-offs and every other single thing that could go wrong that puts our lives in danger. And why we still race despite all that.
I turn back to them, and they flinch. But that’s probably because Maddock is still glowering behind me.
“Once you get approved, you guys are going to be driving these cars non-stop for weeks to make sure you’re up to speed for your charity race—pun intended. So get back to me after Diego has shown you the video, and you can tell me how easy you think racing in F1 is,” I say.
I give them another one of my winning smiles before signaling Diego to get them out of here.
“Okay, everyone!” Jacob claps as he calls out again. “Time to move on.”
As people file out, Maddock and Everest stay stock still. I need to know what they are planning to do in case they get in my way.
Yeah, maybe I said something about us playing together as a pack, but that’s after I get my alone time with Harmony.
Maybe I’m not desperate to win on the track, but I want to be first with her.
Harmony has only been gone for five minutes, but they’re both shifting their weight and looking around like they’re going to bolt, same as me.
“Aren’t you going to lunch?” I ask sweetly. I need them to hurry on so I can go to my omega.
Everest shakes his head. “I need to work out where I went wrong with that stop.”
We all know it was because Harmony’s perfume smells so mouth-wateringly lush that there were other alphas throwing longing glances at both the car and me. If they think they’re getting anywhere near her with us three here, they are in for a fight.
Almost everyone has gone, so I step toward the rear door, and good old Maddock comes along with me.
“What are you doing?” I ask him. But he just narrows his eyes at me.
“I could say the same thing. Why did you have your hands all over her?”
I arch a brow. “Because we were racing together? I hug you for that long after a race, but you're such a prickly guy that I don't hang around to get stabbed.”
“Very funny,” he says flatly. “She’s my former student; I should be the one making sure she’s okay after the race.”
“Emphasis on ‘former’. She’s got nothing to do with you. She barely even looked at you during the briefing. If she cared that you used to train her, I’m sure she would have shown it a bit more, no?”
His muscles tense as his glare grows stronger.
“We were focused on our jobs. Her job is to learn. Our job is to teach her—you don’t have to be involved in her personal life at all,” he says.
“I heard you didn’t even want to train her, so what are you doing right now?”
“She's my responsibility,” he growls.
“Or is she mine?” I grin back. “Why don’t we ask her and see what she wants to do? I’m really happy to keep arguing with you. But there’s an omega who needs an alpha, and I'll be damned if you’re the one who helps her.”
His nostrils flare as he understands what I mean, and I throw him a wink just to wind him up that little bit more.
“Maddock? A word?” Jacob calls, and my grin turns into a smirk.
“Oh dear, what a shame. I guess it's up to little ol’ me then.” I shrug without a single drop of apology. I'd be happy to take Everest with me, but I don’t want to have to struggle with Maddock for her attention.
“You asshole,” he growls, and I feel a sense of triumph that only comes when I annoy him.
“Don't worry, Maddock. I'll take proper care of our ‘student’.”
I laugh at his totally fearsome growl before Jacob drags him away. I look to see if Everest is coming, but he just keeps staring at her car.
The second I get away from the garage, I shoot off, running at a full sprint, following her scent like breadcrumbs leading me home.
