Chapter Fifteen #3

“We all know her stubborn ass was doing anything she could to piss the fucker off,” Remy says, making Cam and me smile.

“She lived to piss people off for fun,” I say.

“You and her both,” Cam adds with a smile.

“Move in with us,” Remy says to Cam. Cam looks from him, to me, and back to him before answering.

“Are you sure?” he asks.

“Absolutely. I know you don’t want to go back to the home you were supposed to share with Tris, and I think you two would heal better together than in different houses,” Remy says. “Also, I think it would help Lori a lot to have us both in the same house.”

“Nothing will make that better unless I have both of you right beside me,” I say with a sigh.

“Well, at least for now, he can sleep up here with us,” Remy says.

“I have mixed feelings,” I laugh.

“Don’t wanna snuggle with both of us?” Remy asks with a playful smile.

“It’s not that. I will still want to get fucked. I don’t know how that is supposed to happen if Cam is sleeping next to me,” I laugh.

“Same as before, only we’d have an audience,” Remy winks. I look at Cam, and he grins at me as he pulls on shorts. I shake my head at him before stepping past him and going into the bedroom. I spot my tea on the bedside table and smile.

“Wait, are you really drugging her?” Cam asks.

“I asked him to,” I say. “I don’t picture myself falling asleep on my own, and I know I need it. We all do.”

“Don’t drink just yet. I ordered pizza,” Remy says. “Start a movie and I’ll go grab it.”

“Mkay,” I say. I move to sit in the center of the bed with my back against the headboard and Cam sits beside me. I lay my head on his shoulder, and he relaxes. “Can I ask you something I probably shouldn’t?”

“You can,” he chuckles.

“Why were you… hard?” I ask.

“Because you are a beautiful woman, Lorelei,” he says almost cautiously.

“I was super afraid you were about to jerk off in my face,” I say.

“That would have been funny,” he laughs.

“If you came in my face?” I ask, laughing with him. “That shit hurts if it gets in your eyes.”

“Noted. Not in the face,” he says.

“There is a lot more here that we should probably talk about one day,” I say.

“I get the feeling I’m going to be left out in the cold when you two end up snuggling,” Remy says when he comes into the room with pizza in hand.

“See, that’s when you just snuggle up with us and sandwich me,” I say. Remy raises an eyebrow at me and my face heats with a blush. “I… didn’t mean that the way you just took it.”

“Yeah, you did. That’s okay,” Remy laughs. “You didn’t start a movie.”

“Oh yeah,” I say. I lean over Cam and grab the remote as Remy sits beside me. I start searching for something to watch that won’t remind us of Tris and land on a random TV show. I focus on my food and not on the television. It doesn’t get far before I push my food away and sit back.

“You need to eat,” Cam says.

“I can’t,” I say. “I tried, and I can’t.”

“I’ll make you a deal,” he says. “Finish the slice you started, and I’ll leave it alone.”

“Okay,” I sigh. I pick up my half-eaten slice and eat the rest before tossing the crust down. “Can I have my tea now?”

“Yeah,” Remy says. He hands me my cup and my eReader before closing up the pizza box and moving it so I can stretch my feet out. I drink my tea faster than usual as I get my book loaded up, and Remy just watches me.

“What?” I ask.

“That shit is going to hit you hard,” he warns. “You are drinking that way too fast, and I put more than normal.”

“More sleep for me,” I say, taking the last sip. He takes the cup, and I move down to lie on the bed, and Cam does the same. I am turned slightly so Cam cannot see what I am reading. Remy lies down, and I assume he is on his phone until he whispers in my ear.

“Naughty girl… I should have known you’d be reading something like that,” he says before gently kissing my neck, just below my ear.

I am reading a book about a girl who fucks her brother and his best friend.

Once again, I’d be a damn liar if I said I wasn’t living vicariously through these characters.

I go to lock the eReader, and he stops me.

“No, keep reading. I want to know what the brother does next.”

“I’m sorry?” Cam says as he rolls to face me. My face heats up, and Cam grins at me. “What are you reading, Lori?”

“Nothing,” I laugh. I try to wiggle away when he slides his arm under me and pulls me to his chest before taking the eReader. Remy moves in close behind me, propped up on his elbow with his hand on my hip.

“What do we have here?” Cam says as he starts reading the scene I am on, which happens to be her getting absolutely railed by her brother for the first time.

“Cam,” I whine and try to reach for it. “I’m getting too tired to fight you.”

He holds it out so I can’t reach it, but eventually I get too tired to keep my arm up, so I lay my arm on his chest. My palm is flat against his skin, and I can feel the way his muscles tense as he reads.

He turns his head and looks at me, and I can’t help but laugh at the look on his face. “You dirty girl. You read this stuff?”

“Yeah,” I say with a blush. I try to hide my face, but he lifts my chin.

“Who knew my pretty little sister had a filthy mind,” he says sweetly before whispering his next words. “Just like me.”

“It’s bad,” I mumble.

“Why do you read about siblings?”

“If I can’t do it, may as well read about it,” I mutter, or at least I think I do.

I can’t keep my eyes open my more, so I let them close.

Cam gently kisses my forehead before letting me lay my head on his shoulder.

I am surrounded by the both of them, and I feel safe.

I have to believe that her death was for a reason.

I have to hold on to hope that there is sunshine behind the clouds that currently loom over us.
