TODAY, MY ANGEL OFFICIALLY becomes mine in front of our family and friends. But in truth, Sophie has been mine from the moment I laid eyes on her.
It's been four months since we rescued her and sent a boatload of the worst people straight to hell. It feels like a whirlwind but it got us to this moment. We've balanced the demands of Sophie finishing her first year of school while simultaneously starting Hope's Legacy—her heart’s work—and juggling all of my work between San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Then there was the matter of bringing her family around to the idea of me and mine. Through it all, though, we easily slipped back into that domesticated rhythm like we had in the first week of our relationship.
