Chapter 12

“I thought you forgot you had parents,” my mother said jokingly.

“Don’t make me feel bad, Ma. You know how busy I am during the season.”

“I’m just teasing you. I looked up the team’s record, and you’ve only lost one game so far. That’s pretty good.”

“Thank you. The team is very talented, and I’m honored to be one of their coaches.”

It had been a month and a half since our first game, and we were over halfway through the season. Time was flying, but I have loved every minute of this experience thus far.

“They should be equally honored to have you. How is everything else going? Have you met any handsome professors on campus?”

I laughed. If my mother didn’t do anything else, she would worry about my love life.

“Umm, I don’t get around campus much, Ma.”

“I guess I’ll take that as a no. You’ll be twenty-seven at the end of this year, and I can’t remember the last time you brought a man home for us to meet.”

“I’m too busy to date.”

“Are you sure you and Montrell aren’t a thing? He seems very fond of you.”

“Montrell and I are very close, Ma, but we aren’t each other’s type.”

“You’re beautiful. How can he not?—”

“Ma, please. Trell and I are good friends. That’s it. Please don’t push the issue.”

“Okay. I’ll leave it alone. Maybe once your schedule frees up this summer, you’ll get out more and meet someone.”

My thoughts went to Niko as my mother rambled. She seemed quite fond of him when he was our server at Soulful Diner several weeks ago, and all he did was his job. If I told her we were dating, she’d be over the moon.

Since Niko and I decided to do whatever it was we were doing, I’d become very smitten with him. Our situation wasn’t ideal, and it was risky as hell. We didn’t spend as much time together as we wanted, but our time together was special.

The flowers and love notes he sent to my job made me feel giddy.

The meals he sent to my apartment so that we could eat together on FaceTime were always what I needed.

When it felt like a lifetime had passed since our last kiss, we connected our laptops to the big screen and watched each other masturbate. In a nutshell, we were making it work.

“Are you listening to me?” Ma questioned.

“What’d you say, Ma?”

She sighed. “Nothing, girl. Your father has to work late. Do you wanna go to dinner?”

“I’m on a fixed income, so if you’re paying, I’m going.”

She shook her head before saying, “If I’m paying, I’m picking the restaurant. Let’s go back to Soulful Diner. The food was great, and maybe we’ll get the handsome server from before. Be nice this time if we do.”

“What? I was nice the last time.”

“Tuh. If you call that nice, I see why you’re single. Let’s go.”

As soon as I was secured in the passenger seat of my mother’s car, I texted Niko to let him know my mother and I were on our way. When he didn’t respond by the time we turned into the parking lot, I became nervous.

“Are you okay?” Ma asked.

“I’m fine. Why?”

“You’ve been fidgeting for the past few minutes.”

“Oh, I’m fine.”

As if Niko and I were magnetically linked, our eyes zeroed in on each other as soon as I entered the restaurant. His eyes brightened, and his smile widened, and although I couldn’t see my face, I knew I mirrored his actions.

“There he is. Look at the way he’s smiling at you.”

I smacked my lips, trying to play it off. “I think you’re seeing things, Ma.”

The hostess arrived to seat us before she could respond. Just my luck, she sat us in Niko’s section. Shortly after the hostess disappeared, he appeared, holding two glasses of water.

“It’s nice to have you back.” His eyes bounced between me and my mother. “Is it just you two today?”

“Yes. My husband had to work late. I can’t believe you remember us.”

“I’ve never seen two more beautiful women. You’re kinda hard to forget.”

“Aww, you probably say that to all the ladies,” Ma cooed.

“I assure you, I don’t. Can I get you something to drink besides water?”

We ordered drinks, and he left us alone to review the menu.

“Randi, you’d better get that boy’s number before we leave. Too bad I’m not single and a few years younger, I’d?—”

“Eww, Ma. Don’t.”

“What? I’m just saying.”

“I know. Please stop.”

“You don’t think he’s handsome?”

“I do, but I don’t talk to every handsome man I see.”

“He’s just?—”

“Here are your drinks. Are you ready to order?” Niko’s arrival interrupted my mother’s response.

“Thank you. I think we’re ready.”

My mother eyed me over the menu, but I ignored her. After we placed our order, Niko disappeared again. About a minute later, I received a text from him.

Risky Business:

Meet me by the bathrooms.

I couldn’t help but laugh every time I read the contact names we used for each other. They were an admission of guilt if I’d ever seen one, but still hilarious.

Me:

Okay.

“Ma, Coach Crawford just sent me a text asking me to call him. I’m going to wash my hands and return his phone call.”

“I’ll be here.”

I slid from the booth and headed toward the bathroom, anxious and excited about a moment of closeness with Niko. I turned down the hallway where the bathroom was located and was suddenly pulled into a small, dark closet and pressed against the wall.

“Shit! You—” His mouth covered mine before I could finish, and my body melted against his.

Niko was an amazing kisser, and I would be satisfied kissing him for hours if that was all we could do. Our breathing was labored when he pulled away.

“Damn. I missed kissing you,” he whispered.

“I missed kissing you too. Can we turn on the light?”

“No. I don’t want to draw any attention. I don’t need to see you because your face is ingrained in my mind.”

“Niko, if I push my leggings and panties to my knees and turn around, do you think you can fuck me right quick?”

“Fuck, yeah.”

He released me, and in under fifteen seconds, he slid into me from behind.

“Oh my God.”

He slapped his hand over my mouth. “Baby, we have to be quiet and fast,” he warned me.

I held onto the wall and threw my ass back.

He used the hand that wasn’t covering my mouth to play with my clit.

My pussy was extra sensitive because of the adrenaline from what we were doing and where we were doing it.

I reached my peak quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Once he knew I’d gotten mine, he filled my womb with his seeds and uncovered my mouth.

“That was?—”

“Amazing,” I whispered breathlessly, cutting him off.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy the afterglow.

I pulled my pants up while Niko put his dick back into his pants.

He slowly opened the door, looking left to right before ushering me into the hallway.

I rushed to the bathroom and cleaned myself up as best I could with a wad of wet paper towels.

“Is everything okay?” my mother asked when I slipped back into the booth.

“Yeah. He wanted to talk about an idea he had for practice tomorrow.”

“Good. Glad it was nothing serious. Did you put makeup on in the bathroom? You’re glowing.”

“Huh? Why would I put makeup on?”

“For Niko. I mean, he thinks you’re beautiful without it, so it’s not necessary.”

“Oh, here comes the food.”

I managed to enjoy dinner with my mother while Niko’s semen soaked the crotch of my panties and leggings. Before we left, she told him to write his number on a napkin and that I’d be calling soon. Little did she know, I’d been calling that number.
