Chapter 38
Chapter Thirty-Eight
Audrey
The boarded-up bakery window was a stark reminder of her parents’ betrayal every time she looked at it.
Fortunately, it didn’t seem to have decreased business.
If anything, they were busier than ever—according to Ashley, social media was now obsessed with figuring out what had happened to the window.
No one had been in the store, other than Cash, last night, so it was a total mystery.
The most popular theories had to do with the ‘big beefy soldier-looking guys’ going in and out of the bakery all day.
Ashley’s favorite conspiracy theory was the one where the mob had targeted Cupcakes and Crumbs, and now all the muscular men going in and out were security.
They were sort of half right, except it was Audrey’s parents, not the mob.
Though sometimes it seemed like they weren’t that far off from each other.
Between the business of the bakery customers coming in and out and the way Audrey’s mind kept drifting to Mason and the night before, it was strange but welcome that her parents’ betrayal was not at the top of her mind.
Keeping up with the steady stream of customers took most of her attention, and the way her body was still humming from Mason’s domination took the majority of the rest of it.
Last night, he’d decided that she needed to be distracted from what her parents had done and had gone about providing that distraction in the most delightful ways possible.
He’d stripped her naked, covering her in kisses, before laying her down on his bed and explaining ‘honor bondage’, something she hadn’t come across in one of her books before.
Basically, it meant that instead of actually tying her in the position he wanted her in, he wanted her to hold herself in the position he put her in.
Which hadn’t sounded that difficult until he’d started touching her with his hands and mouth in ways that made her gasp and writhe.
He’d had her hands gripping his headboard, so her upper body was stretched out, and her legs spread wide apart.
She’d been completely open and vulnerable to him—and expected to keep herself that way.
He’d started with his lips on hers, his hands on her breasts, and he was kneeling between her spread thighs—which was how he knew when they started to come together rather than remaining splayed in the position he’d dictated.
It had been a slow torture of her senses—every time she’d moved out of position, he’d started all over at her lips again.
The first time he’d almost reached her pussy, she’d moved and nearly cried when he’d moved his lips back to hers.
When he finally reached her pussy, she’d stayed as still as she could, able to focus on nothing but keeping herself still as his tongue slid between her sensitive nether lips, toying with her clit.
She’d gasped and moaned and managed to stay still…
at which point he finally gave her permission to move again.
Then he’d sucked and nibbled and driven her to orgasm after orgasm while her thighs gripped his head.
She cried out, her fingers pulling his hair as her head thrashed back and forth in abject ecstasy.
Her legs were draped over his shoulders in a manner that made it easy for him to reach up along her sides to fill his palms with her breasts.
Squeezing the soft flesh, he’d pinched and tugged her nipples, all while driving her wild with his tongue, until she was literally begging him to stop because she couldn’t take any more.
Only then did he lift his head and move up to slide his thick cock inside her, growling ‘one more’.
That hadn’t seemed possible at first, but as he filled her over and over again, rubbing his body against her swollen, overstimulated clit, she’d found herself crying out and creaming all over his dick for a final time.
Today, she couldn’t move without feeling how swollen and sensitive her pussy lips were in the aftermath of his torment. At least her nipples had some protection from accidental stimulation thanks to the padded bra she was wearing.
After the lunch hour, there was finally a bit of a lull, so of course, that’s when Audrey’s grandmother showed up with her friends Mary and Karen from book club. Cassidy was with them, appearing both amused and apologetic as she hung back behind the trio.
“Why on earth didn’t you tell me that you’d been attacked?
” Grandma asked, putting her hands on her hips and glaring at Audrey.
Despite the shirt she was wearing, which declared she liked her books like she liked her men (which Audrey assumed meant ‘thick’ and knowing her grandmother probably meant ‘dick’ and not just ‘men’), she was pretty intimidating when she got all riled up like this.
“It wasn’t an attack,” Audrey protested, in a much lower voice, not wanting her grandmother to make more out of things than they were.
Especially when she saw the two young women in the corner, thankfully the only customers currently still in the room, swivel their heads around at the statement. “And please, don’t shout.”
Grandma narrowed her eyes at Audrey, but she did lower her voice.
“I wasn’t shouting. And I’m upset. Your cheating rat of an ex showed up, your parents hired some asshole to throw a brick through your window, and you didn’t call me about any of it!” She shook her head. “Just because I’m old doesn’t mean I don’t want the 4-1-1. I can dig it.”
“You know that slang is from decades ago, right?” Cassidy asked, amused.
Grandma put her hands out in front of her, palms side up, and moved them up and down in alternating motions.
“Six seven,” she said, drawling the second word.
“I don’t know what any of that means, and you sound like a demented version of my grandchild. Talk like a normal person,” Mary complained.
“I’m going to keep it up until Audrey apologizes.”
Three sets of eyes immediately pinged her with begging looks.
“I’m sorry I didn’t call you, Grandma,” she said. “I was a little distracted.”
Grandma wagged her finger at Audrey. “The only acceptable distraction would be if you were getting ridden hard and put away wet by some hot stud.”
Audrey knew her grandmother didn’t mean it, she was just looking to be outrageous, but she’d hit so hard on the truth that Audrey couldn’t help but jolt in a very different reaction than grandma was likely expecting.
A hot blush filled her cheeks, and the urge to run almost would have had her bolting, except there was nowhere she could hide that her grandmother couldn’t find her.
“Ooh,” Karen said, elbowing Grandma. “I think that’s exactly what she was doing! Good for you, dear.”
“Wait… who was it?” Grandma said, throwing up her hand and frowning at Audrey. Behind Grandma, Cassidy was now staring at the ceiling, because she obviously had a guess and was trying not to draw attention to herself. “It better not have been that dickbag ex.”
“No, I didn’t sleep with Cash last night,” Audrey replied, immediately offended that her grandmother would guess him. She might be a doormat sometimes, but she wasn’t that much of a doormat. Mostly.
“Then who?”
“None of your business!”
“That’s not ‘no one’,” Mary said, watching her with interest in her dark eyes.
Audrey had no idea how she was going to escape this situation when the door to the bakery opened again. She prayed for divine intervention in the form of a customer, hoping against hope that it wasn’t Mason because she was fairly certain her face would give it away…
Worse.
It was so much worse.
She gulped as Yasmine walked through the doorway.
Effortlessly chic in her usual winter coat that made her look like she’d just stepped off the runway, her hair was straight down to her shoulders, where it developed a gentle curl.
She took off her sunglasses as she walked in.
Forget the runway, it was like she was starring in her own private movie.
And having her walk in right at this moment…
For Audrey, it was the worst timing possible. If someone was watching this as a movie, they might be howling with laughter… or cheering for Yasmine to tear her a new one.
Oh God… does she know? Does she not know? Which would be worse? How do I act?
Why is my life like this?
She wouldn’t trade this new life for her old life, but sometimes, she wished there was a third option. So far, most of those moments involved Yasmine.
“Hey, Audrey,” Yasmine smiled.
She must not know. Crap.
“Hi,” Audrey replied weakly, trying to ignore the suddenly suspicious looks her grandmother was shooting between her and Yasmine. “How are you?”
“I’ve been better.” Yasmine eyed the group of women. “Hello, ladies. Can you give Audrey and me a moment? I need to talk to her about something.”
That was enough for Grandma to make the wild, and entirely too accurate, leap to the right conclusion. She gaped at Audrey. Mary and Karen appeared confused, but were watching intently.
“It was Mason?” she asked in a thunderstruck voice. Then she spun around and caught Cassidy staring at the ceiling. She pointed an accusing finger. “You knew! You knew, and you didn’t tell me!”
Yasmine’s lips twitched with amusement, but it didn’t reach her dark eyes. She cocked her head at Audrey.
“Maybe you have somewhere in the back we could talk?”
“Sure.” On the list of people she wanted to be alone with to talk today, Yasmine ranked barely above her parents and Cash, but Audrey didn’t have a choice. She owed Yasmine… something. She didn’t know what, but something.
If Yasmine wanted to yell at her, she was just going to have to deal with it.
Taking a deep breath, Audrey turned around, giving Ashley a little wave. Ashley gave her a sympathetic look, then greeted Yasmine as they went past. All while Audrey’s stomach roiled, and she had to work to keep her shoulders from hunching in.
