Epilogue

Yasmine

Pausing outside of Cupcakes and Crumbs, Yasmine felt her heart squeeze. Mason was in there with Audrey, his head bent next to hers at one of the tables. She said something that made him laugh, and he turned his head to steal a quick kiss.

The scene was like something out of a movie, and it made her heart ache.

Not because she wished Mason was still hers, she didn’t, but because she wished that someone would look at her like that.

She’d never made Mason laugh like that. She wasn’t sure she would know how to.

She hadn’t even known he could laugh like that.

And they’d never kissed like that, either.

Yasmine hurried on before Ashley could look up from the customer she was dealing with at the counter and see her.

Mason and Audrey were right for each other in a way that Mason and Yasmine never had been.

But damn, it hurt to have gotten her hopes up, then crushed once again.

Hope was awful.

And whoever had put this damn curse on her was even worse because they’d stolen her hope.

Not that she really thought she was cursed.

Most of the time.

She’d said it as a joke at first, but at a certain point, it had started feeling real. Yasmine knew Naomi and Claudia thought she was self-sabotaging, but was it really her fault that when she realized a man wasn’t the right partner for her, she instantly knew who would be perfect for him?

Every time she did the right thing.

Every time, she ended up alone.

Hope was dead.

Because she couldn’t fight it anymore.

She wasn’t heartbroken over Mason, but her heart hurt because she’d finally realized the truth…

Even if she wasn’t cursed, it didn’t matter.

It was time to give up on finding love and accept that the dream was dead.
