Chapter 34
CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
MIKO
Everything fell apart, sucking the breath from my lungs, my body shivering in a bitter, bitter freeze.
“No!” Malorie screamed. “The anchors are compromised. We must—”
Her body jolted as if hit by a car, flung out of sight.
Shit.
I fell onto my side. Hard. Everything hurting.
“Miko…” Trev collapsed beside me, choking.
“Hold… On…”
I plunged into the flickering white noise that hummed so loudly my eardrums begged for mercy. Spinning into chaos, losing my fucking mind.
“Fuck!”
Broken mind.
Aching bones.
Lost.
Trapped.
I reached out for the troll, hoping to find him in the blinding whiteness. Called for him as we spun through the violent crackle.
Where was my voice?
What happened to Ori and Paige?
Nothing. No answers. No way out.
Only the earsplitting noise and the white.
Shit.
