Chapter 13 Can I Have Your Number?
Can I have your number?
I look in the mirror and shake my head, grinning from ear to ear.
Wow. I think I’m in love. Okay, not love. But shit, I like this woman.
Camille is something else. She’s fun, gorgeous, kind… and when I’m with her, when I’m inside her, it feels like home.
I want to go back out there and do it all over again.
Hell, I want to spend the whole night just getting to know every inch of her, mind and body. But I don’t know where her head’s at.
Is this a one-time thing? Friends with benefits? Something casual?
Whatever it is, I need to be careful.
Ever since Claudette, I hated the idea of anything serious. Hated the idea of being hurt again. I don’t even have time for anything more than casual.
Still… she’s too incredible to just walk away from. So for now, I’ll stick around to be whatever she needs. I’ll go with the flow.
I surprise myself with how I feel about it all.
I head back out and find her sitting on the pool table, fully dressed now and looking like a goddamn fantasy. She’s literally like an angel.
She glances up and smiles at me, and I swear, my heart trips over itself like a fool.
She’s stunning. Effortlessly beautiful.
I step in front of her, running my thumb along her jaw.
“You’re beautiful Angel.” She blushes as I lean down to kiss her.
She kisses me back, her fingers curling into my hair like she doesn’t want to let go.
And God, I hope she doesn’t. “Cam,” I say softly, our foreheads touching, “I want to do that again. Hell, I’d do it all night if I could.
But it’s 4 a.m., and next time…” I pause, brushing her hair behind her ear.
“…next time, I want to take my time with you.”
She laughs, that low, breathy kind of laugh that makes my cock twitch.
“Next time?” she teases, but her smile softens with a flicker of hesitation.
“Luc, I really can’t commit to anything right now.
But I really enjoyed that. I really enjoyed you, what you made me do.
” Her cheeks flush, just slightly. “So yeah… I want to do it again. But let’s keep it simple.
Take it slow. Maybe just… friends. With benefits. Cool?”
“Of course.” I nod, meaning it.
“I’ll take whatever you’re willing to give, Cam.”
I kiss her again, this kiss slow, almost reverent as I help her down from the pool table.
We leave the bar together, hand in hand.
She locks the door behind us, and I walk her to her car, lingering as she opens the door.
“Goodnight,” she smiles up at me. Her smile should be illegal, it’s so perfect.
“Night, Angel.”
I watch her drive off, still wearing that dumb smile on my face, heart beating faster than it should.
I get in my own car and start the engine, then I freeze. A sudden thought hits me.
Shit.
I forgot to get her number.
