Chapter 37 Tied to a tree with enchanted vines
Tied to a tree with enchanted vines
That damn red bikini.
I nearly ditched all my work to throw her down and have my way with her the second she walked out. But I had to get that form submitted on time.
So, like always, I resisted the urge and did my damn job. Knowing I’d be finished soon—and could make her scream my name again—was the only thing that got me through it.
I normally don’t mind the background work that comes with running a business, but missing out on moments like that? I hate it. I know that was one of the reasons Claudette—my ex—cheated. I was always working, always busy. She needed more time than I could give.
Not that cheating is ever excusable, she should’ve just left.
But I promised myself that when I found the right woman, I’d never make that mistake again.
She would always be a priority. And I’m so damn close to being in a place where I can finally make room for that kind of life.
I have some new people starting soon to help carry the load with me.
I scrawl my signature at the bottom of the form and send it off, grateful the inspector is accepting applications over the weekend. The moment I hit send, I’m out the door and heading to Camille.
She is floating on her back in the pool, eyes closed, completely unaware I’ve stepped outside. I dive in beside her, and she laughs as the splash ripples over her.
“I’m assuming you finished?” she asks me as I swim close to her.
“Sure did. Just in time. Sorry I didn’t come out straight away, still working on the balance, but sometimes the job just has to come first,” I tell her.
“Don’t even worry about it Luc, I completely understand. Work is important. Especially what you do.” She says.
I agree with her. What I do is important. She’s the first woman to say that to me though. Anyone I’ve dated before used to just crack the shits every time I didn’t drop it all for them.
“Yeah, it is. But I’ll probably always feel a little guilty when I can’t be present. How was your swim?” I ask her.
“Peaceful, but it’s better with you here. I really enjoy your company.” She swims closer to me now. I can’t help but smile at her those blue-grey eyes sparkling in the afternoon sunlight.
“I feel the same. Oh, I forgot to say thank you. I love my haircut. You did a great job, I hope you know you’ll have to cut my hair forever now.
I don’t think I’ve ever liked it this much before.
” She really did an excellent job. The sex after was amazing too.
I see her bite her lip, a blush rising on her cheeks.
She always blushes when I give her compliments, but maybe it’s because her mind has drifted to what we did after as well.
“I really liked what we did after the haircut as well,” I say, tilting my head with a smirk. “How would you feel about doing that again?”
“I’d like that… I don’t think I can resist this anymore, Lucas.
I’ve never felt chemistry like this before.
” She waves her hand between us. “The last six weeks has been torture, denying you, and myself. It’s too hard to keep away, but it scares the shit out me,” she tells me honestly.
I feel the same. I come close, so we’re touching.
“Me too. I haven’t wanted anyone the way I want you. I know I can’t resist you anymore.” I kiss her before we can say anything else.
It doesn’t take long before I’m hard for her again.
I drag her bikini bottoms down, and my swim shorts follow in a rush.
She moans. Wrapping her legs around me, our mouths stay together the whole time, all tongues and teeth.
I quickly sheath myself inside of her and we start to fuck desperate for each other, even though we only had sex a few hours ago.
I’ve never actually had pool sex before, but fuck, I’m surprised how fucking amazing it feels, or maybe it’s just her.
I brace us against the wall, driving into her deeper.
I pull her bikini top down, filling my hands with her perfect breasts while I thrust hard and fast.
She moans my name into my mouth, her voice breathy and desperate.
I slip a hand between us and rub her clit, my other hand teasing her nipple.
I feel her tightening around me, and within minutes we both explode, coming hard, panting and trembling against each other.
Fuck. She’s going to be sore but I can’t stop wanting her, she makes me insatiable.
We stay in the pool after, bodies tangled and moving slowly now, laughing and playing as we swim.
“Okay… I know I said we shouldn’t do this anymore when I first moved in, but if this is what breaking the rules feels like, I might need to reconsider my morals,” she admits
“You’re allowed to change your mind. Especially when it involves very convincing arguments… like that red bikini.” I say as I pull at the middle of her bra between her breasts.
She playfully splashes water at me but doesn’t move away.
“It’s not just the bikini, and you know it,” I look at her, more serious now, brushing wet strands of hair from her cheek.
“Yeah. I do. And it’s not just the sex either. I mean, that’s… incredible—but it’s you, Cam. You make everything feel easier.”
She smiles at me, eyes flickering with both affection and uncertainty.
“I’ve never felt this kind of comfort with someone before. Like I can just be myself. I don’t need any filters. You see all of me and somehow still want to be here.”
“Of course I want to be here. I’m not going anywhere. And for the record, I like you with and without filters. But I especially like the version who just kissed me like that.”
She blushes and bites her lip, nudging my chest gently.
“You say things like that and then wonder why I can’t resist you.”
“I don’t want you to resist me anymore Angel.”
We fall into a comfortable silence, the water ripples softly around us.
Then Camille glances at me with a mischievous smile. “Just promise me something?”
“Anything.” I reply.
“Next time we do something like that… can we not almost drown?”
I can’t help but laugh. “Deal. Next time, we take it to safer terrain. Like… the kitchen counter.”
“You’re terrible.” She laughs.
“You like it.” I run my hand over her cheek.
“Yeah… I think I might.” She admits and I freeze for a beat, looking into her eyes.
My voice is barely a whisper. “Me too.”
Eventually we climb out, grab some towels and lay down on the sun loungers by the pool. She grabs her Kindle while I lay back and close my eyes for a nap.
Before I fall asleep I ask her without opening my eyes. “What are you reading over there?”
She casually replies. “Just a book.”
“Uh-huh. That’s suspiciously vague. You said that like someone caught hiding a secret stash of cookies.” I laugh.
“Well… it’s not cookies.”
I turn my head to look at her, cracking one eye open. “Come on. Tell me.”
“Fine. Only if you promise not to judge.”
“No promises. But I’m all ears.” I smile at her. She sighs dramatically and tilts the Kindle so I can see the cover—a shirtless man with long hair, standing on a cliff with a wolf behind him.
“It’s a fantasy romance. Lots of world building… character development.”
I can’t help but tease. “And steamy woodland sex scenes?”
She laughs and admits. “Maybe a few. You know, for character depth.”
“Uh huh. So this is where you’ve been getting your moves,” I poke her in the butt.
She smiles really big now. “Please. If I was using my book moves, you’d still be tied to a tree with enchanted vines.”
My eyes widen in surprise, loving that idea. “Damn. Okay, I clearly need to catch up.”
She giggles, and I watch her for a second, my grin softening.
“I like this side of you.” I tell her.
“What side?” She says quietly.
“The one that lets me in. The one that reads sexy fantasy books and teases me about enchanted vines.” I laugh.
She smiles again. “You bring it out of me.” I lean over, pressing a soft kiss to her shoulder.
“Good. Keep reading. I’ll be over here dreaming about being tied to a tree.”
She laughs again, shaking her head as I lay back down, my eyes fluttering closed.
“You’re never going to let this go, are you?”
I’m half asleep, but reply anyways. “Not a chance. Chapter six better watch out.”
