Chapter 7 Brandon
brANDON
After hanging up with Sebastian, I lay there for a few minutes just staring at the ceiling.
I'd never even considered phone sex before, but it felt so natural with Sebastian. He made me want to do things I never thought of. Things I didn’t know how badly I wanted until they were presented to me in a cute little package.
The connection between us felt like it was years old instead of just days.
Sebastian was so sweet and sexy, it made me want to give him anything in the world he desired. And for whatever reason, he seemed to want me. Maybe even as much as I wanted him.
Love at first sight had always felt like something from books and movies but not something that happened in real life. Now I was starting to understand that it could be real because what I was already feeling for Sebastian was more powerful than anything I’d felt for anyone before.
But more than anything else, the way he looked at me when he called me Daddy almost brought tears to my eyes. I really had been waiting my whole life for him.
When I couldn’t stall any longer, I rolled out of bed and headed for the shower, already planning our next date in my head. I wanted to do something special for Sebastian. Something that showed him I was serious about this…about us.
After cleaning up, I got dressed and headed to the kitchen to make a list. I wanted to pack a picnic lunch and take Sebastian somewhere he could be himself and really have fun. Somewhere we could talk without the pressure of a fancy restaurant or other people watching.
The beach seemed like a good option. It was a nice day, and there was a quiet spot about twenty minutes away that didn't get too crowded on weekends. It was the perfect place to spread out a blanket, have lunch, and just enjoy each other's company.
But first, I needed to make a trip to the grocery store. I wanted to get this right, which meant actually putting some thought into what Sebastian would like instead of just throwing together whatever I had in my fridge.
The store was busy for a Saturday morning, but I took my time wandering through the aisles and picking out things I thought Sebastian would enjoy.
Fresh fruit, some good cheese, crackers, and those little sandwiches from the deli that looked fancy but were easy to eat.
I also grabbed a couple bottles of sparkling lemonade and some chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
At the last minute, I added a bag of gummy bears to the cart. Sebastian seemed like the kind of guy who'd appreciate a sweet treat, and I liked the idea of watching him eat them.
As soon as I got home, I sent Sebastian a quick text. I’ll pick you up at noon. Wear something comfortable and bring a jacket just in case.
Yay! Where we going? I could almost hear the excitement in his voice, and I loved it.
It's a surprise.
He sent a string of silly emojis. I love surprises!
I packed everything into a cooler and grabbed an old blanket that was big enough for us to sit on comfortably.
Before I left, I spent a few minutes cleaning up and making sure the house wasn’t a complete disaster. Not that I was planning on bringing him back here, but I wanted to be prepared just in case.
Then I loaded everything into the back of my truck and headed over to Sebastian's place. Once again, my hands were sweating on the steering wheel, and I had to laugh at myself. We had phone sex this morning. There was no reason for me to be nervous about a picnic.
But I was nervous anyway. Because everything felt different after this morning. We were officially dating. I offered to be his Daddy, and he opened up about being Little. That put us in a completely different space, and I didn't want to screw up all the progress we’d just made.
I pulled up in front of his apartment and was about to go get him when his front door opened and Sebastian bounded down the stairs.
He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with a dinosaur on it, and he had a light jacket tied around his waist. His hair was a little messy, but he had the biggest smile on his face.
Fuck, he was beautiful.
I got out of the truck and met him at the bottom of the stairs.
Sebastian practically launched himself at me, wrapping his arms around my neck and pressing his face into my chest. "Hi, Daddy." His voice was muffled against my shirt, but I heard him loud and clear.
"Hi, sweet boy." I held him tight, twisting slightly because it felt so good to hold him close. "You ready for our adventure?"
"So ready.” He pulled back and nodded at me with those bright eyes. “I still don’t know where we’re going."
"Because it’s still a surprise." I wrapped my palm around the back of his neck and brushed my thumb across his jaw. "But first..." I leaned down and kissed him.
It was supposed to be a quick hello kiss, but the second our lips touched, I was a goner. He tasted like mint toothpaste and something sweet, and the little sound he made in the back of his throat went straight to my dick.
I deepened the kiss by sliding my tongue against his and pulling him closer.
Sebastian's hands fisted in my shirt, and he pressed himself against me like he couldn't get close enough.
When we finally broke apart, we were both panting but ready for more.
Sebastian's lips were swollen and red, and I almost said to hell with the picnic and took him back inside.
But I promised him an adventure, and I was gonna damn well give him one. "Now I’m ready."
He giggled and let me guide him to the truck.
Once we were on the road, Sebastian turned to me with a curious expression. "So, are you gonna tell me where we're going now?"
"The beach." I glanced over at him and smiled. "I packed us a picnic lunch. Thought we could spend the afternoon just hanging out."
His whole face lit up. "Really? That’s so cool! I never get to go to the beach."
I reached for his hand and brought it up to place a kiss on his wrist. "I wanted to do something special for you."
"This is very special." He squeezed my hand. "Thank you."
The drive to the beach was easy and comfortable.
We talked about random things like the music on the radio and what we'd been doing all week.
Sebastian told me about a patient who was terrified of the dentist but ended up being really brave, and I told him about the electrical system I was working on at the construction site.
It felt natural. Easy. Like we'd been doing this for years instead of just a few days.
When we got to the beach, I grabbed the cooler and blanket from the back of the truck and led Sebastian down to a quiet spot near some rocks. The beach wasn't crowded, so we had plenty of space to spread out.
I laid out the blanket and Sebastian immediately kicked off his shoes and sat down, pulling his knees up to his chest and looking out at the water with a huge smile on his face.
"This is so nice." He turned to me with contentment in his eyes. "Thank you for bringing me here."
"You're welcome, sweetheart." I sat down beside him and opened the cooler. "You hungry?"
"Starving." He leaned over to see what I'd brought. "Ooh, what's all this?"
I pulled out the sandwiches and fruit and cheese then set everything out on the blanket between us. "I wasn't sure what you'd like, so I got a bit of everything."
"You did all this for me?" He looked at the food and then back at me through glassy eyes.
"Well, I bought it." I chuckled. "But yeah, I put it together for you."
He threw his arms around my neck and hugged me tight. "You're the best Daddy ever."
My chest felt tight in the best way. "I'm glad you think so."
While we ate lunch, Sebastian told me about his dinosaur collection and how he'd been obsessed with them since he was a kid. I told him about buying my house and fixing it up for my future family because it was the first place that ever really felt like home.
At some point, the conversation turned more serious. Sebastian was lying on his back on the blanket, looking up at the clouds, and I was propped up on my elbow watching him.
"Have you been in a lot of relationships before?" Sebastian’s voice was quiet as he turned to me.
I shook my head. "Not really. I've dated, but nothing that lasted more than a few months."
"Why not?" He reached over and took my hand.
I thought about it for a moment, trying to figure out how to explain. "I guess I never found anyone I wanted to make it work with. And I work a lot, so I haven’t put much time into thinking about it. Besides, I'm not good at talking out my feelings or asking for help."
He made a face like he didn’t believe what I was saying. "You're doing pretty good so far."
"That's because you make it easy." I squeezed his hand. "But I'Il be honest, Sebastian. I’m probably gonna do or say stupid shit to screw this up."
He sat up and turned to face me with a serious expression. "You're not gonna screw this up, Brandon. We're both new to this, and we're figuring it out together. That's okay."
"Just promise you’ll tell me if I say the wrong thing or do something that hurts you?" The fear alone was enough to make me frown. “I never want to be the reason you’re upset or confused. Communication is gonna be key…and it’s not my strong suit.”
"Lucky for you, I never shut up, so we’ll definitely talk about everything." He cupped my face with both hands. "Whether you like it or not. That's what people do when they care about each other."
I leaned into his touch and closed my eyes. "I do care about you. A lot."
"I care about you too." He leaned in and kissed me softly. "And I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me now."
I smiled against his lips. "Good. Because I’m not gonna let you go, sweetheart."
We stayed at the beach for another hour, just talking and watching the waves. Sebastian found some shells and showed them to me like they were the most amazing things he'd ever seen, and I helped him rinse them off in the water so he could keep them.
By the time we packed up and headed back to the truck, I felt lighter than I had in years. Like maybe I wasn’t as bad at this relationship thing as I thought. Not when it was with Sebastian.
On the drive back, I remembered the park with the goats and made a split-second decision to stop. "Hey, you wanna see something cool?"
"Always!" Sebastian perked up immediately. “What is it?”
"There's a park near here that has goats out. They bring them in to clear the brush and weeds. They’re pretty cute to watch."
"Goats?" His whole face lit up. "I love goats! Yes, Daddy! Can we see them?"
I laughed at his enthusiasm. "Yeah, we can see them. It's just a few minutes from here."
When we pulled up to the park, Sebastian was practically bouncing in his seat.
The second the truck was parked, he hopped out, and we walked over to where the goats were grazing in a fenced-off area.
There were a few dozen in all different colors and sizes, happily munching on the overgrown vegetation.
My boy pressed himself against the fence and watched them with wide eyes. "They're so cute! Look at that little one!"
I stood beside him and wrapped my arm around his waist, pulling him closer. It was such a surreal feeling to be able to just hold him anytime I wanted. And when he leaned into me without taking his eyes off the goats, I felt like all was right in the world.
"Can we pet them?" He craned his neck back to look at me. “I’ll be careful.”
"I don't think so, baby. They're working right now." I kissed the top of his head. "But we can watch them for as long as you want."
"Okay." He turned back to the goats and pointed. "That one has a little beard! And that one is all white like a snowflake! Do you think that’s his name? It’s probably Snowflake or maybe Snowball."
Sebastian’s face lit up with pure joy whenever one of the goats came closer to the fence. The pitch in his voice went higher and he became more animated when he talked, regressing right in front of me. Watching him be so carefree and trusting with me was heady.
And it was beautiful.
We must have stood there for twenty minutes, just watching the goats and talking about them like they were the most fascinating creatures on earth. Sebastian made up names for each one and gave them little personalities based on how they moved or what they were eating.
When one of the smaller goats followed us along the fence, Sebastian gasped and grabbed my hand. "Look, Daddy! He likes us!"
"He does." I squeezed his hand and curled it up toward my heart. "That's because you're so sweet, baby boy."
Sebastian looked up at me with the biggest smile on his face, and my chest felt so full I thought it might burst. These were exactly the moments I wanted to capture forever. Sebastian happy and carefree and Little, trusting me to take care of him and keep him safe.
Eventually, the goats moved to a different part of their enclosure, and Sebastian started to look a little tired. I rubbed his back and kissed his temple. "You ready to head out?"
He nodded and yawned. "Yeah. Today was so fun, Daddy."
"I'm glad you had fun. I did too." I took his hand, and we walked back to the truck together.
Sebastian was quiet in the passenger seat on the drive back. He had his jacket pulled up around his shoulders and was looking out the window with a sleepy expression.
"You okay over there, sweetheart?" I reached over and rested my hand on his thigh.
"Mm-hmm." He put his hand over mine. "Just happy."
"Me too, baby. Me too."
