Chapter 10

“Angel, if we win any more prizes there won’t be room for us in Daddy’s truck.

” The little shit giggled. “Seriously. I think it’s time to forego the arcade and hit the strip.

” Today was our last day here and we hadn’t left the hotel yet.

“How about taking a ride down to the M I knew his kindness struck me right in the heart.

I’d really failed as his Daddy all these years.

Washed up and back in another cab, I made the decision to take Trey out for date night. “Let’s get cleaned up and go out for a nice dinner away from the hotel.”

“Like a date, Daddy?”

“Exactly like a date.” I added the bags to the massive pile of shit we had to load up in the morning and sighed. Just remember, he’s having fun and so are you. You’re allowed to relax and enjoy your boy, Oscar.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, brain, but you’re not the one unloading the truck.

“What sounds good for dinner, Angel?”

“Mmm.” He thought hard, which was cute as hell. “How about steak or shrimp.”

“You do love your shrimp.” I pulled out my phone and did a quick search.

“So much for getting outside of the hotel. According to the internet, our hotel has a great surf-and-turf restaurant called The Steakhouse. Let me give them a call and make sure they have an open table.” Guess last-minute spots on a weeknight worked in our favor.

“They can seat us in an hour. Time for a shower and a shave.”

I got the water going and stripped down, and my boy joined me as I stepped under the warm spray. “Come here. It’s been far too long since we’ve done this.” The searing kiss we shared was a staunch reminder of just how long it’d been since we’d been intimate. “I’ve really missed that.”

“Me too, Daddy.” He wiggled against me, rubbing our cocks together. “Do we have enough time before dinner?”

No need to ask what for, we were both on the same page. I kissed him again, our tongues engaged in their familiar dance. Kissing to me was foreplay. I swear, I could easily get off this way. “I wish, but definitely later. It’s been far too long since I made love to my boy.”

“Fiancé.”

“Yes, fiancé.” We shared a few more kisses, but that was all we had time for.

Reluctantly, we washed, sharing flirty glances as we did.

I loved this light, carefree side of us.

One of many things I’d overlooked, but that was no more.

From here on out I’d be more attentive to Trey and his needs. To our needs as a couple.

“Good evening, gentlemen. Do you have a reservation?” the host greeted us as we stepped inside.

“Yes, two for Saavedra.”

He checked the list. “Excellent, follow me, please.” He led us to a semiprivate booth that thankfully had no outside view. “Here you are, gentlemen, your server will be right with you.” He handed us each a menu then walked away, and our waiter strode over not long after.

“Good evening, gentlemen. My name is Hayden and I’ll be your server tonight. Can I start you off with anything from the bar?”

“No, thank you, Hayden.” Neither of us were drinkers. “I’ll have an iced tea, please.”

“I’ll have a ginger ale, please,” Trey said.

“Excellent. I’ll get your drinks and will be right back to take your orders.” We both knew what we wanted, and as soon as he returned, we ordered.

“So, what kind of wedding band would you like?”

Probably bad timing on my part given he’d just taken a drink and nearly shot soda out of his nose. “Hadn’t thought that far ahead.”

“How about we visit the jeweler in town when we get back. If he doesn’t have anything we like, maybe he can make something just for us.” I liked the idea of keeping it in town and supporting local artisans.

“That sounds perfect. I can’t wait to ask Tae to be my best man.”

That surprised me. “You haven’t told him yet?”

“Nope, figured we could tell everyone together when we get home. You and I both know they’re gonna swarm us as soon as we pull up.” He was far too happy about this, and it made me wonder what he had up that sneaky sleeve of his.

“Good point, and I like doing it together. Tae’s gonna think it’s his birthday with all the prezzies you have for him.

” Trey covered his mouth to hide a giggle, and gently, I removed it.

“Don’t hide who you are, Angel. Not from anyone.

If they can’t accept you for who you are, they don’t need to be in your life.

Daddy can’t apologize enough for hiding us. ”

“Daddy.” He scooted closer to me. “That’s all behind us now. We have a new life to start, as husbands, and that should be our sole focus.”

“How did you get so smart, Angel?” This sweet boy never ceased to amaze me, always seeing the bright side in everything.

“I always have been, that’s how I knew waiting for you was the right thing to do.”

Was it bad for a Daddy to cry in front of his boy? “I’m sorry it took me so long.”

“Daddy, you were more than worth the wait.” And cue in those tears I tried my best to contain. Trey’s lips gently kissed the tears away.

I didn’t know what I did to deserve Trey’s love, but I’d never take it for granted again. I’d learned so much about him on this short trip, and I couldn’t wait to spend a lifetime of learning with him by my side.

As my husband, lover, and my boy.
