35. Chapter Thirty-Three
CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
RAINEY
S he walked toward the buzzing phone that was sitting at the table. Who was calling her at this time? Rubbing her belly, she picked up the phone. Not a call, but several texts.
Furrowing her eyebrows, she opened them.
Rainey screamed as she saw a picture of Pete—dead. His soulless eyes looked through her. Moving back, she shook her head several times.
“This is not happening,” she whispered to herself. “I didn’t just see what I think I did.”
She took a deep breath, keeping her eye on the phone. Fingers reached through the screen. Her eyes went wide, not believing what she was seeing.
“Nope. That’s not happening.”
But as the fingers turned into arms, which turned into Pete’s head going through the screen, Rainey screamed. Heart beating fast, she took several steps back, andher back hit the wall.
“No.”
Pete’s lifeless eyes looked right at her.
“Rainey,” he called out.
“No,” she screamed, trying to push herself away from the wall, but her body wouldn’t budge. Wetness filled her diaper as Pete smiled, his pale, lifeless eyes boring into her soul.
“Rainey. Wake up.”
“Please!” she begged as Pete slowly made his way toward her.
“Rainey! I need you to wake up.”
Screaming, she sat up. Tears streaming down her face, she looked around. Dominic stood next to her, worry flashing across his face.
“You’re okay.”
Sobs racked her body as she shook her head. She wasn’t. There was nothing okay about her.
“Your Daddy is coming right now.” Dominic ran his hands through her hair.
She continued to cry as the images of Pete coming out of the phone and toward her replayed through her head.
“Everything is okay. Daddy is coming back right now.”
She stared up at Dominic, but she could only see Pete’s lifeless eyes. Shutting hers, she cried and cried.
Rainey wanted her Daddy to come, hold her, and make her feel safe.
“Daddy!” she wailed.
“You’re okay. Daddy is coming. I just spoke to him.” Dominic continued to run his hands through her hair.
Wrapping her arms around her stomach, she rocked herself back and forth .
“Shhh, you’re okay. Try and take a deep breath for me. You’re going to make yourself sick if you continue to cry this hard.”
But Rainey didn’t care. She wanted her Daddy to come and help her get rid of the images that endlessly played in her head.
“Rainey.”
She shook her head and continued to cry.
“Rainey!” Daddy yelled.
Dominic helped her sit on the edge of the bed as Daddy came through the door. One look at him and she burst into a new wave of tears.
“Da-Daddy!” she wailed.
He rushed toward her, wrapping his arms around her. “You’re okay. Daddy is here now.”
“I’ll see you later,” Dominic whispered, but she didn’t pay any attention to him.
Sobs racked her body as Daddy held her close.
“Let’s go relax in the tub.” Daddy picked her up bridal style.
She immediately grabbed his shirt, not wanting to let go of him.
“You’re okay. Daddy is right here.”
He sat her on the toilet seat, but Rainey wouldn’t let go of Daddy.
“You can hold onto the edge of my shirt as I get the water going. Daddy isn’t going anywhere.”
He helped move her hand to the edge of his shirt. Rainey watched him like a hawk, tears streaming down her face.
“Everything is okay. You’re okay. Daddy is here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Once Daddy got the temperature right, he turned around and started to pull his clothes off. She knew it was more difficult since she was holding his shirt, but she wasn’t going to let go.
“Daddy needs to take his shirt off. Then I’m going to help you get undressed.”
Rainey continued to hold onto his shirt.
“Rainey,” he gently said. “I can’t get in the tub with my shirt on, and I have a feeling you’ll want to feel my skin against yours.”
That she did, but it required her to let go of his shirt. Was she ready to do that? Rainey didn’t think so.
“Come on, baby. It will only be for a couple of seconds.”
Daddy started working on untangling her hands from his shirt. Whining, he got them off and started to pull his shirt off. She needed to hold something. It was a need.
Before she could even think about it, she grabbed Daddy’s cock and relaxed.
“Shit,” Daddy groaned. “Little girl.”
She stared up at him, blinking several times.
“You can’t grab Daddy like that.”
Tilting her head to the side, she stared. She needed to hold something, and his cock was the nearest thing.
“Grab Daddy’s hand.”
She looked down at where she was holding him. Did she want to let go, though?
“Come on. Let’s get into the water. The only way we can do that is if you let my cock go and take my hand. Can you do that for me, Little one?”
Sighing, she let go of Daddy’s cock and held his hand. She wanted to touch part of him at all times.
“Daddy is going to help you in then I’ll get in next.”
She nodded as Daddy helped her into the tub. It didn’t take long for Daddy to get in behind her, pulling her closer to him. Relaxing into his embrace, she closed her eyes and took several deep breaths.
“Such a good girl. Just relax against me.”
And that’s exactly what she did. Daddy wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her stomach as she closed her eyes. He was protecting her.
Ping.
Muscles tensing, she opened her eyes. Was that her phone or his?
“Just mine. Let me check in case it’s from Dominic.”
He kept one of his hands on her stomach as the other reached over the tub.
“It’s Deccan in the group chat.”
She shook her head. She didn’t want to see the message. Not when it could be another picture of Pete dead.
Nope.
“It’s nothing bad. He’s just sent a message for you.”
“No.”
“Trust Daddy. I promise it’s nothing bad.”
She looked to her right and saw the text message.
Deccan
I’m sorry .
She blinked several times, reading over the text again and again. Deccan didn’t seem like the type of person who would apologize to people.
“Where were you?” she asked.
“I was talking to Deccan.”
She turned her body to look at Daddy in the face. What was he doing talking to Deccan?
“I needed him to know what he did; sending that picture was unacceptable. He needed to know.”
“H-how are you still alive?”
Daddy placed his phone down and cupped her face. “He was actually happy I stood up for you. He said you remind him of his sister, who died a while ago, and he is protective of you.”
She scrunched up her nose. “He doesn’t know me.”
“The little he saw was enough to remind him of someone he loved.”
“I still love you and only want you. I know Deccan is obsessed with Echo so you don’t have to worry, but I just need you to know.”
Daddy kissed her forehead. “I know, Little girl. I love you as well, and you’re the only one for me.”
She sighed and placed her head on his chest. Her hands were still shaking from the nightmare.
“The water is getting cold. How about we go snuggle, and you can sleep again.”
Rainey opened her mouth but quickly closed it. Would Daddy allow her to do it? Would he want to do it and be okay with it?
“What is it, Little girl?”
“I.” She took a deep breath in. “I want to, but I…”
“You’re okay. Ask whatever you need.”
“I need you inside me when I fall asleep. I just need to feel you and know you aren’t going to leave,” she rushed out.
Rainey closed her eyes and looked away. She didn’t want to see his reaction. It was a big thing to ask. Did Daddy want to do it? Was it okay?
“Can you look at me, Rainey?”
She shook her head.
“Rainey. I’m not mad at you.”
That was a relief, but she still didn’t want to look at him.
“Look at me, now.”
Turning her head, she opened her eyes and looked into his.
“I’m not mad at you. I’m proud that you asked for something you need. I know it was hard.”
She blinked several times, processing his words.
“Let’s get out of the tub, dried off, and into bed.”
Daddy got out first, drying himself before he helped her. He took his time, making sure everything was thoroughly dried before he took her hand and led her to the bed.
“Such a good girl. Put your leg over mine.”
Daddy instructed her, something she was really thankful for.
“You’re so wet already.” Daddy ran his fingers through her folds.
Moaning, she closed her eyes and pushed her hips forward.
“Please,” she begged.
Daddy ever so gently slid himself in before pulling her closer to him. She wanted to get even closer, but with her bump, it was nearly impossible.
“Can we do this again after I have the baby? So I’m closer to you.”
“Of course, Rainey. You let me know.”
Sighing, she closed her eyes, loving the feeling of him inside her, but also from his arm wrapped around her body, protecting her from anything.
“I love you,” she said as she drifted off to sleep.
“I love you, too.”
