Chapter Twenty-Eight
DAISY
“Do you have anything to report?” Janelle asked. “How was your night at the club?”
“Do we have to talk about this?” she asked.
“Yes, we do. You’ve been avoiding my calls, left and right. I know something happened,” she stated. “Either way, I want to know what went on. I care about you, and I want to make sure you are being treated fairly and don’t have anyone I need to beat up.”
Sighing, Daisy looked at her ceiling and closed her eyes. “Nothing went wrong. Well, that actually isn’t true. I had a good time with the other Littles. Then they mentioned that maybe Springfield could be my new home, and that was when it turned a little south.”
Daisy still couldn’t believe that she had cried in front of everyone and had to have Daddy take her out.
“That’s okay. They must understand where you’re coming from. If they don’t, they can still be compassionate about it,” Janelle explained. “What about the man that you went with? Did anything happen with him that night?”
“No,” she mumbled. “But after, yes.”
“Wait. Wait. Wait.”
Daisy knew this was going to happen. It was why she had been putting off telling Janelle. She didn’t want to answer a million questions.
“I just want you to know I still have some work to get done for you,” Daisy pointed out.
“And I want to remind you that you are ahead. Everything due this week, and even next week, you’ve already done.
You are good at your job. That’s why I hired you.
Well, that and you are an amazing friend, and you aren’t getting rid of me,” Janelle rambled.
“You are still getting paid, so don’t worry.
Now, stop trying to change the subject. I want to hear about it all. ”
“I don’t really want to talk about it.”
That was a lie. Daisy had been waiting to talk about it with Janelle, but at the same time, she was nervous. What if she talked about it too much and then Daddy realized that she wasn’t actually worth it? She didn’t want to get her hopes up.
“Yes, you do!” Janelle yelled. “Don’t make me drive all the way down there to get you to talk to me. I will, and you know it.”
“Okay... I’ll tell you.”
“I bet you’ve talked to Tator about this a lot,” Janelle pointed out. “Just pretend I’m your stuffy. Everything will work out just fine, so stop worrying about it.”
Daisy looked at the time. “I have to make this quick, though. Someone is coming over in thirty minutes to pick me up.”
“It’s him! I knew it. Oh my goodness, you need to tell me now before I die from not knowing. Come on. Get telling me! You only have a little time. Have you changed already?”
“He told me not to. He knows what clothes I have since he’s seen me several times and told me to dress comfortably,” Daisy explained.
“That won’t do, you need to dress up, so you can impress him,” she replied.
“No.” Daisy was firm. “He told me to be comfortable in whatever clothes I wanted to wear. I don’t want to go against that. We just got together. I don’t want to already be naughty if he finds out, which I know he will. He has this weird sense about these things.”
It was quite annoying that Daddy could read her so well, but she was trying not to think about it too much.
“Okay, fine. Just tell me what happened,” Janelle demanded.
So Daisy did. She told her everything that had happened in the past four days and how they were starting something. Daisy went into detail about her feelings and how she didn’t know whether it was going to last or not.
“Daisy, you have to stop thinking like that,” Janelle said. “You are going to worry yourself to death with all of these what-ifs.”
“They are reasonable,” she grumbled. “You know everything I’ve been through, and yet you still say that.”
“That’s why I’m saying it. You haven’t been in their house or those horrible towns for years. It’s time to let them go and try to move past it. I don’t think your Daddy is going anywhere,” Janelle gently said. “Now, you have two minutes before he arri—”
Knock. Knock. Knock.
“I take that back.” Janelle chuckled. “Go have fun with him!” She hung up.
Daisy slowly got up, walked to the door, and opened it.
“Did you check to see who it was knocking?” Daddy asked.
Her eyebrows bunched together, and she shook her head. “No one else knocks on my door but you. No one else knows where I live.”
And she liked it that way. Daisy had a feeling if the other Littles knew where she lived, they would come over unannounced. She didn’t know if she could deal with that.
“That doesn’t matter. You always look through the peephole to see who is knocking before you open the door. What if I were a bad guy trying to get in?” he asked.
“Why would you knock if you were a bad guy?” She was so confused.
“Because some bad guys are very smart and want you to think that they are harmless, but in reality, they are the worst. You check who is knocking before you open the door. If I find out you didn’t, you’ll be over my lap. Do you understand?” He bent down, so they were at eye level with each other.
“Yes, Daddy,” she replied.
“Good girl. Now, are you ready to go?” he asked.
“I need to grab a couple of things. Sorry, Janelle called me and wanted to know everything about the past couple of days because I was ignoring her calls,” Daisy explained as she walked into the house.
“Janelle is one of the authors you work with?” Daddy asked.
“Yes, she’s a good friend of mine as well.”
Daisy grabbed Chilli’s leash and turned around.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“I was thinking we could go eat somewhere and then go back to my house,” he replied. “Unless you aren’t comfortable with that and want to go to the club instead.”
“I’m okay with your house. Just let me pack a bag, then,” she quietly said.
“No need.”
Her eyebrows furrowed together. “No need?”
“I bought some things for you.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “If you aren’t comfortable with that, I can return them, and you can pack a bag.”
“No, I think it’s super sweet.”
Her insides were all turning to mush with his thoughtfulness. What else had he done for her?
“Good, because I’ll do it a lot more.”
“You don’t have to do that!” she panicked.
Daddy walked over and cupped her face. “I will. And you are going to enjoy it. You don’t have to worry about anything any longer. Let Daddy do that.”
“But I don’t want to just take from you,” she mumbled.
“And you aren’t just taking. You are giving me the gift of your submission. You are giving me the gift of taking care of you and providing. You are fulfilling that part of my life and giving me so much,” he explained.
“If it becomes too much, you’ll let me know?” She looked up at him, hopeful.
“It won’t become too much, so stop thinking about that.” He booped her nose before looking around. “Do you need anything for Chilli before we go?”
“Let me get her some food and her water bowl,” Daisy said as she walked into the kitchen and grabbed everything she needed. “Do you have a yard where she can do her business?”
“Go potty?” he asked, a smile on his face.
“Her business,” she repeated.
He chuckled. “Yes, I do have a yard for that. She can use it as much as she wants whenever she is over.”
“Why did you call it potty?” she mumbled as she walked over to him.
“Because everyone needs to potty at some point. Just like I’ll be making sure you go potty every night before bed or before we go on a long trip,” he said casually.
Daisy’s eyes went wide as she stared at him. “You are not watching me pee! That is where I draw the line.”
“That is where you draw the line,” he repeated to himself. “Is that a hard limit?”
She opened and closed her mouth several times. Was it a hard limit?
“We’ll try it once. If you really don’t like it, then we won’t do it again,” he said. “Unless your Little is very young and you need me to watch over you. Do you know how young you go?”
She shrugged. “Not really.”
“That’s okay. We can explore it.”
“I don’t think I want to be a Baby,” she said. “But I also know I don’t think I’ll be a Middle. There is too much thinking involved, and I know I won’t enjoy it. I’ve never gone to either age when I’m by myself or at a club.”
Not that she had been to many clubs. But when reading about Littles, she was never interested in being a Middle or a Baby.
“That’s okay,” Daddy replied. “Do you need anything else before we head out?”
She shook her head.
“Perfect. Hand me the food, and we’ll get into my car,” he said.
“What if I need to go somewhere?” she asked. “I can drive my car.”
Daddy shook his head and cupped the back of her neck. “If you need to go anywhere, I will take you. You don’t need to worry about that. Tonight, I’ll be taking care of everything. I just want you to enjoy and let go.”
Daisy played with her fingers as she looked away from him. “I don’t know if I can do that. I’ve never done it before.”
She had been her sole provider for over a decade, and now he just wanted her to hand everything over. Daisy didn’t know if that was even possible for her.
“We’re going to try. We’ll start off slow at dinner with me taking over some things, and by the end of the night, I hope you’ll be super relaxed and just enjoy being you,” he gently said.
“But what if I can’t?” she asked, looking at him. “Will you be mad?”
Daddy shook his head. “No, baby. I won’t be mad if you can’t. I know it’s going to take some time, so I’m not worried about it. It’s okay if you can’t do it for a while, but it doesn’t hurt to try.”
“I just don’t want to disappoint you,” she whispered. “I don’t like it when people disappoint me, so I don’t want to do it with you.”
He cupped her face once again, tenderly caressing her cheek with his thumb. “You will never be a disappointment to me.”
“Don’t say that too early. We don’t know each other that well,” she said as she leaned into his hands.
“I know for certain that you will never be a disappointment to me. It’s not possible. I don’t want you thinking otherwise,” he sternly said. “Now, let’s go get some food in our tummies.”
