Chapter 53
53
Reuben walked over and sat next to Faith before lifting her into his lap. She wrapped her arms around him.
“Thanks for letting me talk to her.”
He kissed the top of her head. “It wasn’t easy. I wanted to tell her exactly what I think of her for the way she treated you.”
“But you didn’t. Because you’re the best Daddy ever.”
“This is true.” He placed a finger under her chin to tilt her face back. “Enough about your friend. What do you need, baby?”
She needed some time with him in her playroom. But she couldn’t do that with Cammie here and they needed to go to work.
“We should go to work.”
“Baby, you’re tired and you just went through something terrifying last night. You need to rest.”
“I can’t rest. There’s work to do.”
He cupped her face between his hands. “You are going to take today and rest. Daddy’s orders.”
She gave him a small smile. “Can I stay here while I work everything out?”
He narrowed his gaze. “I’m insulted that you thought you have to ask. Or that there’s any question of where you’ll be staying. You’re staying here. Now, what do you need?” he asked again.
Faith wished she could tell him what she needed, but she just didn’t know.
So, she buried her face in his chest.
Hiding as usual.
She let out a disgruntled noise.
“What is it?” He rubbed his hand up and down her back.
“I just . . . I hate asking people for things. I feel like such a burden.”
“You could never be a burden.”
“I hide. When things go wrong . . . when I can’t handle stuff, I run and hide. I don’t want to do that anymore.”
“That’s good, because there’s no running from me, baby. There’s no hiding.” He drew her head back, staring down at her as he cupped her face. “What do you need?”
“To spend time with Daddy. As Little Blossom. But I can’t.” Her lip wobbled.
“Why not?” he asked.
“I can’t relax enough knowing Cammie is in the apartment. She’s not . . . she thinks I need to grow up.”
“I’m starting to really dislike this woman.”
“She used to be so kind and loving. She never used to think I was silly or babyish.”
“People change.”
Faith nodded sadly.
“You look tired.”
“I am.”
“I have an idea of what we can do.” Standing, he carried her out of the kitchen.
“I should clean up the breakfast things.” She hated leaving a mess for his housekeeper.
“Anita will deal with it.”
“She’s here?” she whispered.
He grinned. “She popped out. She’ll likely be back later.”
“Mysterious.”
Reuben carried her into a room she hadn’t been in before. It was a smaller, cozier living room. There was a huge television on one wall and an L-shaped sofa that looked so comfortable, she sighed.
He set her down on the couch and she immediately reached for him again, before pulling back.
“Sorry.”
He raised an eyebrow. “And why would you be apologizing, Little Blossom?”
“Well, uh, I’m having trouble with you leaving me. Sorry.”
“I still don’t see why you should apologize. You should know by now that I like it when you need me.”
“Being needed is your love language.”
“I guess it might be.” Cupping her cheek, he ran a thumb along her lip. “I’ll be right back. I’m just getting a blanket.”
They ended up snuggled together on the sofa. He was lying on his back while she was on her side between him and the back of the couch. Her face was resting on his chest.
His phone beeped, and he reached over to grab it.
A giggle escaped her at a funny part of the movie. And he kissed the top of her head while he replied to the text.
This was a moment she’d never thought she’d have with Reuben. A quiet, peaceful, normal moment.
He was always so busy. She didn’t think he was the type to lie down and watch a movie. Not when he could be plotting to overtake the world.
“Cat is going to come visit while I go to my meeting.”
“What? Really? She doesn’t have to do that.”
“She wants to come over,” Reuben told her. “She’s bringing your shoes and the coat.”
Oh. She’d forgotten about that.
As they watched the movie, she found herself relaxing. It wasn’t enough to fully erase what had happened last night.
That would take longer. But every bit of time she spent with Reuben helped. It brought back a sense of safety.
But there was something she couldn’t stop thinking about, wondering over.
“What’s happening with Eric?” she finally asked.
“He’s at his home. You don’t need to think about him.”
“Reuben,” she said in a low voice.
He lifted her so she was lying on top of him. She braced her hands on the sofa, lifting herself up.
“Yes?” he asked.
“I know you.”
“Do you just?” His gaze went to her lips. “How well do you know me, baby?”
“Well enough to know that you’re not going to just let this go.”
“Let what go?”
“Reuben.” She lightly slapped his chest. “He touched me. He was going to strangle me.”
Something glinted in his dark eyes. “Yes.”
“You won’t let him get away with that.”
Suddenly, he sat up and her legs went to either side of his lap.
“You’re right. I won’t. He has to pay.”
“What are you going to do?”
“Ruin. His. Life.”
Her breathing grew faster. “It sounds like it’s already ruined.”
“I won’t be talked out of this, baby. He has this coming. Right now, I have someone working on some information to send to his boss that’s going to result in him losing his job. He’s close to losing his house. I have a private investigator looking into anything else I might need. And what I don’t find, I will create. No one touches what belongs to me and lives. Or lives a nice life anyway.”
“This will affect Cammie.”
“In some ways, yes. However, I’ll keep her out of it. Not because I like her or she’s blameless, but because you care about her.”
“I know that she . . . that she hasn’t acted like a very good friend. But once we were and I couldn’t live with myself if we hurt her.”
“It wouldn’t be ‘we’ it would be me. But I won’t do anything to her as long as she doesn’t hurt you anymore.”
“Thank you.” She kissed him lightly. She knew it wasn’t just because of her that he was leaving Cammie alone.
Reuben had a soft spot for women and children who were in distress. Cammie had been abused. Reuben might be angry with her, but he still wouldn’t harm her.
“You know . . . I think I should show you just how grateful I am,” she told him.
“Should you? And how will you do that?”
She didn’t know where this daring side of her came from. She’d never been like this before.
But maybe it had always been there. She just hadn’t known how to access it.
She climbed off him and moved to the door, locking it.
She wasn’t quite that daring yet.
Then she walked back to him as he shifted around, placing his feet sitting on the floor.
“Baby, you don’t need to do anything to thank me,” he told her firmly.
“I know. I want to. Is that all right?” She bit her lip, wondering if he didn’t want that.
Perhaps he was busy.
“The day I ever say no to you touching me is the day I fucking die.”
She rolled her eyes even though she was ridiculously happy. “Dramatic, but okay.”
He narrowed his eyes at her. “If you want me to recall that spanking I owe you . . .”
“Daddy! I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“I’m talking about the fact that you were living in substandard conditions with a man who was growing increasingly angry at you.”
“Oh. That.”
Fudge.
“Yes. That. I was going to hold off on spanking you because you went through a lot last night. But I’d be happy to rethink that.”
She shook her head and kneeled in front of him. She winced as pain radiated up her legs.
Ouchie.
Reaching out, he cupped her chin. “Be careful. I won’t be happy if you hurt yourself.”
“But it’s okay if you hurt me?”
“Entirely different thing.” Reuben ran his thumb along her cheek, making her breath catch. Then he slid his thumb into her mouth, and she moaned.
God, she loved when he did things like this. She’d loved sleeping with his fingers tucked up inside her pussy.
But if she could do that every night, she’d be a very happy girl.
Drawing back, she reached over and grabbed his phone from the coffee table.
His eyebrows rose in surprise.
It wasn’t often that she got to surprise him.
“Just in case you have some work to do.” For some reason, she liked the idea of him working or watching the movie while she sucked him off.
Heat hit his gaze. “Sure, baby?”
“Please.” She wanted this so badly. “And I owe you this, remember?”
He nodded, then folded up the blanket they’d been using.
“Stand for a moment,” he ordered, holding out a hand to help her up.
After she stood, he laid the blanket on the floor before he undid his pants and pulled them down slightly, then he sat.
Reaching into his boxers, he drew out his dick, running his hand up and down the shaft.
Her eyes zeroed in on his cock.
“Like what you see, baby?”
“Yes, Sir.”
“That’s my good girl. Now, I’ve got a lot of emails to get through. I need you to kneel on the blanket and suck my cock to keep me happy, understand?”
“I can do that.”
Reuben helped her kneel, but before she could lean down and taste his dick, he grasped hold of her chin.
“While you have my dick in your mouth, you’re not to think about anything else, understand? You don’t have anywhere to be, anything to do. All you’re going to do is suck on me and just exist.”
His words swam through her, drugging her. Her limbs actually grew heavier as her mind emptied.
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?” he asked sternly.
“Yes, Sir.”
“Good girl.”
Faith sighed happily. She loved being his good girl.
As he reached for his phone, she wrapped her hand around his dick. God, it was beautiful. She’d never thought that about a cock before. But Reuben’s dick was a thing of beauty.
She gently explored it, first with her hands and then with her tongue. Taking the head of him into her mouth, she moaned quietly.
Every remnant from last night started to drift away as she focused on pleasuring him.
So perhaps this was what she’d needed.
The movie and cuddle were awesome.
Sucking on his cock? Next level.
The only thing that would equal this would be time in Little headspace.
But right now . . . it felt like she could just let everything go. All she had to do was pleasure him.
“That’s a good girl. Take me deeper. I want to feel your hot mouth around me. You can do it.”
She took him as far as she could without choking. Then she slowly drew back. Holding the base of him in her hand, she licked along his head like he was a sucker.
Another moan escaped her.
“Back into my mouth. You have to be quieter.”
“Sorry, Sir,” she whispered as she took him deep once more and then just kept him there, sucking.
Her mind drifted.
She was aroused, but it took a back seat to the contentment.
Reuben placed a heavy hand on her head, not guiding her, just keeping it there. Steady. Strong. He ran his fingers through her hair as he read something on his phone.
To her shock, his phone rang. She startled.
“Shh, baby. Just relax. You don’t have anything to worry about except pleasuring me. All you have to do is keep my dick nice and warm in your mouth. Understand?”
Her shoulders relaxed. That’s right. She wasn’t thinking. She didn’t have anywhere to be or anything to do.
All she had to do was obey him. Pleasure him.
His phone rang again and this time, he answered. She was aware of him calling the person Nighthawk, but everything else drifted away as she continued to suck him off. His free hand rested on her head again and she sighed happily.
There was a part of her that wished she could do this all day. The call ended, and he let out a groan. She could feel his body tensing.
“Fuck, baby, that mouth of yours feels damn good.”
Faith smiled to herself. She liked that she could make him feel good. Taking him deeper again, she swallowed. She’d read about it in a book, and it was a bit harder to do than she’d anticipated, but she still gave it a go.
He moaned again, guiding her with his hand as his breathing grew faster, choppier. His phone chimed, but he’d set it down and he didn’t pick it up again.
“I’m going to come. You’re going to swallow everything I give you, understand me?”
Oh yeah. She wanted to do that.
She wanted him inside her. In whatever form that came in.
He pushed himself deep with a groan and she swallowed every drop. But then, disappointment flooded her as she realized her brief reprieve was over.
Not cool.
Licking her way up his cock, she kissed the head of him before pressing her face into his thigh. Tears dripped down her cheeks.
“Baby,” he crooned. Reaching down, he picked her up and settled her on his lap. She didn’t know what was wrong with her. “You’re fine. You’re safe. Daddy has you. I have you.” He cradled her into his lap, holding her tight.
“S-sorry. I don’t know what’s w-wrong with me. I was riding t-this high and now I’m s-sad.”
“I think you might have gone into subspace and then crashed. You have nothing to be sorry about. I should have known this might happen.”
She shook her head. “Contrary to your belief, you don’t know everything.”
“Hush, brat. That’s blasphemy and subject to the punishment of having to wear a vibrating egg for an hour.”
Okay, that punishment didn’t sound so bad. Still, she was sure that he could make it diabolical.
“Sorry, Daddy, oh wise one who knows everything.”
“That’s better. It’s good to be acknowledged and treated as is my due.”
She had to giggle. He wrapped his hand around the back of her neck, drawing her back so he could look down at her.
“Are you feeling better, baby?”
“Yes, Daddy.”
“You’re sure?”
“I’m sure. I . . . I liked that. Doing that. It cleared my mind of everything else and I was almost floating. It felt so good and then I kind of fell.”
He nodded. “When that happens, I’ll always be here to catch you. As long as you never try to run and hide from me.”
Wow. He knew her well. It was kind of unnerving. But she nodded.
“That’s my good girl.” He checked the time. “I have to go get dressed. Cat and Rafael will be here soon. Are you going to be all right without me?”
“Of course!” She made her voice sound light and happy when she felt anything but.
Faith wanted to grab hold of him and never let go.
You have this. You can do this.
