Chapter 10
CHAPTER TEN
Dagger
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Katrina asks from the passenger seat of my truck. As much as I’d like to have her on the back of my bike, I wasn’t taking that risk. Not with her carrying our baby. We’ll have plenty of time for her to ride with me after he or she is born.
“Yeah, baby.” I don’t want her to be nervous going to the clubhouse, and truthfully, there’s not anything for her to worry over.
The women, the ones that matter at least, are gonna love her.
I know damn well Avery will just because she loves Katrina’s music.
“You’re gonna be fine.” I reach across the console, take her hand in mine, and lift it to my lips.
“Just be you, and they’re gonna love you. ”
“Just be me,” she mutters to herself and nods.
“Heads up, though, there are some women at the club who will try to scare you off.” There’s no point in hiding, she’ll find out soon.
“What do you mean?”
I make the turn for the clubhouse, pull through the gate, and find a place to park. Once parked, I twist to her. “Some of the women, you’ll soon be able to tell the difference between the ol’ ladies and clubwhores.”
“Clubwhores?” She interrupts me.
“Yeah, they’re women who stick around here who don’t care who they fuck. They stay here at the clubhouse and are available to members of the club.”
“Have you—”
Now, it’s my turn to interrupt her, “I haven’t been with anyone since the first time I fucked you, and you ran away. But what I’m trying to say is, they’re gonna say shit to fuck with your head. Don’t pay them any mind, unlike them, you’re an ol’ lady to this club. My ol’ lady.”
“Your ol’ lady,” she whispers and shakes her head. “I don’t know what that even means.”
“Means you’re mine. I don’t fuck around on you. You hold status within the club alongside the others. You being an ol’ lady means I have your heart and you have mine.”
“This is all confusing.” She sighs, sinking deeper into the seat.
“You’ll figure it out. I promise you, though, when you do, you’ll understand the difference.
” I bring her hand back to my lips, kissing it once more.
“If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable, you tell me. Kat, one thing about being mine means you don’t take shit from anyone.
Not from my brothers, which I doubt they’d say anything, not the ol’ ladies, though they wouldn’t do that, and sure as fuck not from the clubwhores.
They fuck with you, and I’ll deal with them. ”
Katrina gives me a small smile, and I’m glad to see that I’ve broken through her nerves, even if it’s just slightly.
“It’s gonna be all right, baby,” I tell her, releasing her hand.
I get out of the truck and round the front just as she closes the passenger door. I take her hand once again, tug her close, and tuck her against my side, my arm wrapped securely around her shoulders. She’s not exactly tall, but she wasn’t short either. With her height, her head meets my shoulder.
My opinion is that she’s the right mixture of everything.
On her knees, she meets my cock without lowering further or stretching upward.
When I have her bent over the bed or couch, I can easily slide inside her pussy and not worry.
Most of the time, I keep her ass in the air and feet off the ground while taking her from behind.
The best view, though, is when I’ve got her riding me while I play with her tits.
I know in the months coming, I’ll have to get creative in what ways I take her.
I read where pregnant women should avoid lying flat on their backs as it can cause issues with blood flow and digestive issues, as well as back pains.
I intend to make sure Katrina is as comfortable as possible throughout the whole pregnancy.
Working in the medical field during my military years, I didn’t have to deal with pregnancies on deployments, so I know nothing about it, but I knew plenty of cleaning up bullet wounds and such that my brothers in arms would get.
“Finally.” Avery’s exasperated sigh pulls me from my thoughts as we approach the group of women who had eyes on us, my Prez’s woman, though, glares at me. “You’ve been hogging her for way too long and not letting us bring her into the fold.”
“Sunshine,” Hammer grunts, his lip twitching.
“Don’t Sunshine me, Hammer. I speak only the truth, and you damn well know it,” she snaps and looks over her shoulder. I’m sure to make sure her kids didn’t hear her curse.
The women were constantly making sure to check their language around the kids here. Ever since Taylor repeated after Avery by saying ‘Fuck’. It’d been hilarious at the time, still is because it was her first word. Hearing that little girl say ‘Momma fuck”. Who wouldn’t laugh.
“She’s here now, so let’s ditch the guys and go talk,” CJ says, stepping toward Katrina, taking her hand, and tugging. “Come on, Rina, let’s lose these guys and have girl time.”
“Rina?” I cock a brow at CJ in question.
“Yeah, Rina.” She nods. “Can’t call her Katrina all the time, that’s just to much. Kat is her vocal name, so it’s not special enough. Rina, though, it’s got a ring to it.”
Damn, if the woman isn’t right.
Katrina tilts her head back, and I lean in, pressing a kiss to her lips.
“Have fun, baby,” I tell her, letting CJ pull her away.
As the engulfed her and moved away from the group, my brothers stepped closer.
“Heard from Grinder last night,” Hammer states, watching me closely.
“What did he have to say?” My gut tightened at the mention of the Colorado Charter President. I get he wants to meet his sister, his dad wants to meet his daughter, but they can’t push in on her.
“They were in Tennessee visiting Lucky and his ol’ lady.
Driver went to visit his sister and the baby.
Grinder and Boxer joined in, along with a few other brothers.
” He pauses and shakes his head. “Said he was coming here. They left early this morning and should be here within the next hour. They’re done waiting. ”
“Fuck.” I let out a breath of frustration. “Do they not realize the stress they could cause by showing up and her not knowing it? She’s fuckin’ pregnant and doesn’t need the stress.”
“I think your woman will be fine,” Gunner remarks. “She’s tougher than you think. If the stress of her studio being trashed didn’t fuck with her, this shouldn’t either.”
I take in Gunner’s expression as he nods. He really believes what he’s saying.
“Gunner’s right,” Malice grunts.
“She’s tough and can handle this,” Axe adds. “Though you might want to warn her before they get here.”
I nod my agreement, my jaw clenched, my mood soured by the news. “She might be tough, but this is her first family cookout here at the clubhouse, and she was nervous enough about that. Add in her family showing up, she’s gonna freak the fuck out.”
“But you’ll be with her. Let her lean on you,” Hammer advises. “Long as she’s got you, she’ll be good.”
“How do you know that?”
“From the way you two were walking in here. From the way she was when we were all cleaning up her studio. She’s good for you just as much as you’re good for her.
Still getting to know her, but all of us can see it.
She searches you out in the crowd just as I’m sure you’re aware of her very location at all times, even now. ” He smirks.
He was right about that. I could see her off to the side at a picnic table with the ol’ ladies laughing at something Alanna had just said to her.
“It’s how you know they’re it for you,” Cy states, clasping a hand on my shoulder. “That protective instinct goes into overdrive for them.”
Ain’t that the damn truth.
“It’s gonna work out, brother.” Bruiser chuckles. “Now, I’ve gotta get to manning the grill before we have a riot on our hands. We have too many pregnant women around here. Gwen hasn’t had anything since breakfast and will start to get angry if she doesn’t get a burger in her soon.”
“Wait, Gwen’s pregnant?” Rogue asks, slapping at Bruiser’s head. “You didn’t tell us?”
“She wanted it to be a secret for the time being, but she’s just hit the five-month mark and has finally started to show. Our little girl is gonna be here before we know it,” he states, grinning like a loon.
“Fuckin’ hell, another damn girl around here.” Malice chuckles, head tilted downward, hands on his hips. “Willow wants another girl. Mostly because Gemini claims she’s outnumbered. Three’s enough.”
Conversation flows around me, but I’m stuck on wondering if our baby will be a boy or a girl.
At least we don’t have to worry about us having more than one right now.
Malice and Willow have their hands full.
Hell, when they were first born, I remember how hard it’d been on them at the time.
Didn’t help that someone tried to kill his baby girl.
After that, he rarely let her out of his sight.
The thought of Katrina carrying a little girl made me wish for one.
One that looked like her with her eyes and cute nose.
Regardless, as long as the baby was healthy and whole, I didn’t care.
If we get a boy this time, I’ll have to talk her into trying again for a girl. One of each would be good with me.
Katrina’s laughter draws me from my thoughts, and I glance in her direction, taking her in. The smile on her face is like a fist to my gut. She’s beautiful. Radiant even. I never want to miss hearing her laugh like that, especially with the way her eyes squint slightly and her head thrown back.
I don’t want to have to mess up her day by telling her that we’ve got company coming, but it’s something I’m going to have to do before they get here. No way will I let her be blindsided by it.
Leaving my brothers, I make my way to the woman and curl a hand behind her neck. “Gotta second?”
Katrina smiles up at me. “Yeah, they were just filling me in on some of the antics that have happened around here. Though it’s nothing compared to what CJ said happens up at your Franklin or Tennessee clubs.”
I bite the inside of my cheek to keep from grinning or maybe cursing.
Chelsea, who just so happens to be Katrina’s cousin, was something else and typically behind those antics at the Tennessee club.
Horse’s and Twister’s daughters seemed to learn early on and are constantly causing antics with the other girls.
It’s hilarious, and I’m glad it’s nothing like that here.
I think my brothers and I would all be ready to pull our hair out.
The main one we have to worry about is Rogue’s ol’ lady, Rebel.
She’s vicious and doesn’t mind doing things on her own.
Mostly, it’s that she’s got no problem doing meets with bad people and not telling her man about it.
The last time she did it, she took Calder, Grant DeVore’s right-hand man, with her and Alanna instead of filling any of us in on the meeting.
“Thankfully, the women here are level-headed,” I manage to grunt. Sitting down behind her, I cradle her between my thighs and hold her close.
“What’s up?” she asks, snuggling closer.
“Hammer just filling me on something, and I want to give you a heads up. Your brother and dad are going to be showing soon.”
“What?” she whispers, tensing in my arms.
“Don’t know if they’ll be alone or if more of them are coming. They were in Tennessee visiting your cousin, Chelsea. If you want to get out of here, we’ll go, but you’re gonna have to meet them eventually.”
“Dagger’s right,” Avery murmurs from across the table. “You don’t have to stay. It’s crappy they didn’t give more notice, but it’s going to happen eventually. Might as well do it where you have family around you, looking out for you.”
My heart swells with pride that these women have already taken Katrina into their fold, claiming her as one of their own.
