Chapter 12 Bb #2

“Babe, I still remember the taste of you on my tongue and how your nails feel biting into my ass as I’m fucking you hard.

I don’t give a shit how many so-called dates we’ve had.

This past week, I wake up and call you because I need to hear your voice before I start my day.

I go to sleep with your voice being the last one in my ear.

That’s something I’m going to make permanent.

The only reason I haven’t already made those moves is because I wanted to give you time to adjust to the idea. ”

“Time? It’s barely been a week since we started talking to one another again!”

“I know. I should have moved quicker. You should thank me for being considerate.”

“Considerate?”

“Exactly. Of course, if I’d known you’d be here trying to give other men what belongs to me—”

“I didn’t try to do anything! I also don’t belong to you.”

“Time to remind you once more,” I growl.

I wrap one hand into her hair as I slam my lips back down on hers.

I don’t have to fight for entry. She immediately opens for me.

She goes up on the tips of her toes, her fingers bite into the back of my neck as she holds on, and her tongue fights mine for dominance.

The kiss is fiery and hot. It’s proof that she wants me as much as I want her.

It’s lust, need, desire, and pure emotion all wrapped up in one combustible kiss that feels like it sets my world on fire.

I lose sight of time and place. I’m completely lost in her.

I don’t remember pushing her shirt and bra up.

Yet, I’ll remember for the rest of my life the way it feels to have my hand cupping her breast, the feel of her nipple pressing against my palm and the sweet whimper of pleasure she gives as our mouths separate to drag oxygen in.

“I’m there tonight and you’re going to spend your time with me, Beau.”

“Do you know you’ve called me Beau the entire time we’ve been fighting?”

“That’s your name,” I point out, dropping my head down so I can nibble on her neck.

“God,” she moans.

“You like that, baby?”

“You know I do. Why aren’t you calling me Harper?”

“I don’t know. I was so pissed that I barely know my own name,” I gripe.

“Hunter …”

“No one kisses you but me.”

“I—”

I let my lips make a path from her neck, across her collarbone. I nibble the delicate skin I find along my way, but I don’t stop until my lips are at her nipple and I slide my tongue against it. “And no one gets this from you but me. You’re mine, Beau Harper.”

“Hunter …” she repeats.

“That’s just the way it is, baby. You belong to me, and I belong to you. We’re going to explore this between us and you’re going to give us a chance that I don’t deserve, but one I’m going to work my ass off to prove to you that I’m never going to hurt or disappoint you again.”

“Damn it, Cowboy, you aren’t fighting fair.”

“When someone is important, you don’t fight fair. You do whatever the fuck you have to do to win. Do you understand what I’m saying, baby?”

“I—”

“You matter to me. You’re everything to me.”

“It’s only been a week,” she cries, sounding forlorn.

“It could be fifty seconds or fifty years, it wouldn’t make a fucking bit of difference,” I growl, finally taking her pebbled nipple into my mouth and sucking on it.

“You and I are going to happen. You just need to acknowledge that now and quit fighting me,” I demand as my hands move to cup her ass and I pull her up my body.

She wraps her legs around me as I lift her up.

My control is about to snap. I’m going to fuck her right here.

I can’t hold back any longer. It’s time she remembers the heat that has always been between us.

“Hey Aunt Beau! Look who’s here!”

“Fuck,” I mumble when I hear Slider’s voice come through the hall.

“Shit,” Beau hisses, already trying to pull her bra down.

I try to help her. She tries to shove my hands out of the way.

I fight her, and win, but only as Slider, Ty, and two men that I don’t know enter Beau’s office.

Beau freezes, going completely slack. I let her body slide to the ground, doing my best to block her body with mine as she stands.

I don’t let go of her because I can tell her legs couldn’t hold her up right now.

Her entire body is trembling. I pull her shirt down, kissing her forehead. “Kill me now,” she whispers.

“Babe,” I laugh.

“I’m serious. Shoot me and put me out of my misery,” she orders.

I grin and kiss her lips.

“Woah, Dad. You bonin’ Beau?”

“Boy, what did I tell you about talking like that around women?”

“Not to do it, but you and Papaw Torch say it all the time. So, I don’t see why I can’t.”

“Because I’ve told you not to. Besides, Beau is special to me. I don’t want you talking that shit because what I have with her is important. We’ve talked enough about that, so you know what it means.”

“She is?” Ty asks, surprise on his face as he looks over at Beau. She’s blushing such a deep red that it wouldn’t surprise me if she didn’t spontaneously combust.

Beau shakes her head. “We’re friends—”

“She is. We’re going to move in together,” I announce, not giving her a chance to try and back out of a damn thing.

“Hunter!”

“Do you have a problem with that, Ty?” I ask, figuring I’m handling this all wrong, but plowing ahead anyway. It’s better to see what I’m facing now rather than later. Whatever my kid’s objections might be, I’ll fix them. He needs to know that I’m not letting this chance with Beau pass me by.

“Fuc—” he stops talking with a grimace. “Sorry Beau. I mean, heck no, Dad. Beau’s awesome. Besides all the boys at school will be jealous cause my dad’s girlfriend is a MILF.”

“Oh my God,” Beau exhales. The two guys standing there burst out laughing and I can’t help but join in. Beau socks me in the stomach.

“Umpf,” I gasp. Damn she can hit hard. I rub my stomach, still wincing.

“This is not funny, Hunter!”

“It kind of is.”

“I’m not a MILF and you shouldn’t know what that even is, Ty!” she instructs, trying her best to sound prim and proper—all while still blushing so deep that she could glow in the dark.

“Aunt Beau, the kids on the team already call you a MILF,” Slider laughs.

“Then, it’s your place to make them stop,” she huffs.

“Why would I do that?” Slider says, sounding completely confused. “It’s kind of a compliment. You’re hot and they’re acknowledging it. If you were a dog, they wouldn’t bother saying anything.”

“Well, I’m not a mom, so that nickname doesn’t really work. So, you can tell them to stop,” she commands Slider.

“I could but they’d just call you a cougar they want to fu—”

“I think we should probably table this discussion and then bury it,” Beau grumbles.

“I wouldn’t be upset. I mean, it kind of fits.

You’re moving in with my dad and that would kind of make you like a guardian over me,” Ty says, and I grin, because I can tell my son is definitely okay with this.

I cross my arms and lean against the desk, smiling at Beau’s beautiful-but-beet-red face.

“We’re not moving in—”

“Yeah, we are. Ty and I can move into your place if you don’t want to move into my condo. I’m good with that. Well, as long as you have two bedrooms. My boy needs his own space.”

Her eyes go as wide as saucers. I almost wince watching. That has to be painful. It’s all I can do to keep from laughing out loud. I sense that doing that at this juncture would be very bad.

“Aunt Beau has five bedrooms,” Slider supplies helpfully.

“Perfect. Then, it’s settled,” I purr.

“I don’t … I think … I really …,” Beau sputters.

“Did we come at a bad time?” one of the men asks. Dang, I’d forgotten all about them.

“Parker, I’m sorry. Things are … Well, I’m not sure what’s going on, so for now we’re all just going to ignore it,” Beau tries to explain.

“I’m not going to ignore it. It’s already decided,” I murmur under my breath. She shoots me a look that’s either meant to freeze my balls into ice or incinerate me and send me to hell—I’m really not sure which.

“I see you’ve met Slider and Ty? These are my favorite baseball players in the world. They’re the ones I mentioned to you.”

“I’m Slider. Beau is my aunt,” Slider says turning to the two men.

“I’m Ty. Beau’s moving in with my dad.”

“I’m—”

I reach over and pull her to me before Beau can deny what my son said. “Don’t say anything that’s going to make me kiss you to shut you up, Harper.”

“Now, I’m Harper again?” she snaps.

“If you’d like, I could call you my sugar mama, or better yet, yummy-soon-to-be mummy. That seems like a good nickname.”

“Soon to be mummy?” she squeaks, and I think I see steam coming from her ears.

“Too soon to tell you I want more kids?” I ask mildly, still fighting my smile.

“I hate you,” she hisses.

“No, you don’t. That’s why you’re scared, but you don’t need to be, sweetheart. You’re completely safe.”

She growls at me and as the sound rumbles out of her, my dick gets hard as a rock. I give up the fight and let a full-fledged grin slide into place in response. She flips me off, making everyone in the room laugh. Then, she turns around and says, “Boys, this is Parker Huntington and Green Lucas.”

“Woah! Green Lucas?”

“You know who I am?” Green asks, obviously shocked.

“Sure, you were one of the greats on the field but you’re an even better coach. They say you’re responsible for bringing several big-time players up from the minors. All the players they interview rave about you,” Ty says.

“Most say you’re crazy for turning down the chance to coach big league and stay in the minors instead,” Slider adds.

“Well, sometimes, it’s more important to stay close to home than travel and make more money. I have enough money, but being away from my wife and kids would suck,” Green responds.

“I saw your son on ESPN. They say he’s going to be a star in the league next year,” Ty says.

“Yeah, I think he will—if he doesn’t get too cocky,” Green laughs. “Although my wife is trying to beg him to play for me,” Green laughs.

“Dude, doesn’t she know the pay difference between the big leagues and the minors?” Slider pipes in.

“Hey, sometimes being close to family is more important,” Beau grumbles.

“It’s a lot of money, Aunt Beau.”

“If you remember, I was offered a crap-load to work in Vegas. I turned them down. It was the best decision for me. I mean, I’m not hurting for money, and I have my family around me, too. It’s the best of both worlds.”

“You got a job offer in Vegas?” Ty asks, his gaze skirting over to mine.

I frown. Why was he looking at me? He looks almost worried.

Somehow my boy seems to have latched onto Beau.

I don’t understand it, but I’m not questioning it either.

It’s just another sign that whatever this pull is between Beau and me is real and it’s something to hold onto.

“Yeah, Ty. They wanted Aunt Beau to work with that custom auto show in Vegas. The one on television every week that restores all these classic vehicles and does custom paint jobs and interiors on them. Remember, they did that Ferrari 250 GTO? Some guy bought that sucker for like seventy million. If Aunt Beau had taken that job she could buy her own baseball team. Heck, she could buy them all,” Slider brags.

“Woah,” Ty exclaims, obviously impressed.

Everyone stares at Beau, including me. I knew how talented she was, but I guess I never allowed myself to think about all the options she had. I also didn’t think about the reasons she was still here in our little town working. Suddenly, I have an even bigger respect for her.

“How about we let this drop and show Parker his Dodge Charger and make me enough money that I can take you hooligans out to dinner afterwards?” she asks.

“Dinner?” the boys ask, perking up.

“Me and the guys are headed to Remi’s later.

You can come, too. No drinking for you, though,” she says with a wink, making even the boys laugh.

I just give her a look. I know what she’s doing.

Beau knows I’d show up tonight. I wouldn’t rest until I put myself in a position to ruin her so-called date with Apex.

She’s making sure that with my kid there I won’t beat the shit out of the motherfucker for trying to put the moves on her.

It’s a good call. It won’t save Apex, but it will give him a slight reprieve.

I find myself smiling and shaking my head at her.

She looks over my son’s head at me and I can’t be sure, but I think she’s fighting sticking her tongue out at me.

I’m disappointed when she just turns around.

I would have liked the opportunity to show her exactly what I want to do with her tongue.

I bring up the rear, following all of them to her paint bay.

I watch as they stare in wonder at the remarkable job Beau and her boys did on the sixty-nine Charger.

Then, I watch as she captivates the whole room while explaining her work.

This includes me, though to be fair, Beau has had me captivated since the moment I first met her.

That’s only increased since she let me back in her life.

I’m being an asshole. I should back off and let her breathe a little, but I know in my heart that I’m not going to.

I even realize that I’m going to take advantage and move into her house.

I sense that she wants to get closer to me, but I also know that for whatever reason is sifting around in her brain and spreading poison, that she never will.

It’s up to me to break down her defenses and show her what we could have.

I’m going to do it for me, for her and for my son.

Instinctively, I know that what Beau and I could share is everything—fucking life changing.

As I continue watching her in her world, I know that no matter what, I will fight to keep my place in it.

I knew it before, and finding out some other man is coming after her does nothing to change that.

It solidifies everything for me. Beau Harper is my future and I’m hers.

She can’t run away from it. I won’t let her.

In fact, I’m starting to think that I might just enjoy watching her try, because with every step she tries to take away from me, I’ll take three in its place to make her fall in love—until all she wants is me. Because fuck me …

All I want is her.
