RE: how to meet a guy
Dear Aunt Macie,
I've just humiliated myself completely and I don't know what to do!!!
I wrote to you recently about meeting a guy at dancing.
I took your advice and went back to dance class to learn how to follow.
And I asked the guy I like for a dance. It was an absolute shit-show.
I was so nervous I completely stuffed up or maybe I just suck at following, but after the dance he told me to stick with leading. Ugh!
I was so humiliated. I don't think I can go back there again.

Brutal, I thought as I read Lucas' email. And completely unfair. And the worst part, as far as I was concerned, was that Lucas had lost his confidence and might never dance again.
Jase had said one and done with these emails, but I couldn't leave the guy in that situation, especially as it was me who had suggested he approach his crush by taking the 'follower' role of the dance.
Should I leave it to Jase to figure out? He was due back from his holiday tomorrow. I hesitated. He probably wouldn't answer Lucas' second email if he really stuck to his principles on the 'one response only' thing.
Despite my initial reluctance, I'd had a great time being 'Aunt Macie' and I didn't want to finish on a bad note. I didn't want to let this guy down. So I did the only thing I could think of.

RE: RE: how to meet a guy
Dear Dance_newbie,
I'm sorry you had such a difficult experience, but don't give up yet! Aunt Macie has the answer! I'm going to mail you a gift voucher for some private bachata lessons. Once you've got your technique right, the guys will be queuing up to dance with you.
Send me your name and address to mail the vouchers.
Good luck!
Aunt Macie
I signed out of the app and closed up the laptop, slumping back in my seat with a sigh.
I really had enjoyed helping LGBTQ+ folks out with their problems. Even something as simple as advising on a suitable restaurant for a date had made me feel good.
I'd sent out a good few bunches of flowers, a ton of dinner gift cards, movie and theatre vouchers.
Hell, sharing all this 'love' had become a bit of an obsession.
Just a shame it was all about to end. I'd have to ask Jase for an update on Lucas' situation and a couple of the others as well, assuming they wrote back, of course.
Since I'd been involved in their stories already, there'd be no issue with confidentiality, surely?
I slid the laptop into its bag and put it on the shelf waiting for Jase and Eddy to come over and collect it, and got back to my normal life.
Strangely, it felt a little colorless after the fun of being Aunt Macie.
Maybe I'd have to ask if Jase would let me do it again next time he and Eddy went on holidays.
I felt I'd done a fairly solid job of it. I hoped Jase would think so too.
