Chapter 21 Maverick #2
“You made me lose my joint, you stupid fuck!” I growl, kicking him in his back, and he lands face-first into the grass.
Looking around for my joint, I finally find it while Caspian and Jacob continue to scrap.
Chester’s movements catch my attention as he fumbles around with his phone.
I run over to him and kick it right out of his hand, stomping on it until it’s in a million pieces.
I bend over and pick up the brick of coke, thankfully untouched.
Before sliding it into my vest, I slap him in the face with it then kick him in the dick while I laugh.
He groans, falling over on his side as blood pours from his chest wound.
I shake my head. What kind of friends does this guy have?
They are all pussies and it’s embarrassing.
“You’re never going to get her back. The Brimstone house will make her into perfection.
I don’t know why you care. She will be my wife soon enough.
Then I’ll put a baby in her!” Jacob yells at Caspian, which sends him over the edge.
He slams the bottom of his gun against Jacobs' head, then tosses it to me, which I catch easily.
All you hear is grunts and cries from Jacob as Caspian lays punch after punch against his face, causing blood to spray across my brother's cheeks and lips.
He licks his lips as bones snap, which has me wincing as he brings him to the ground and forcing him against the bumper of the car.
Casp roars in anger, taking out a grenade and shoving it into Jacob's mouth. All he needs to do is pull the pin, and he’s crazy enough to do it.
“He’s going to kill him!” Chester yells, and I laugh, relighting the joint and taking a deep pull as I watch the show.
“Good! That’s what we want,” I tell him, but Harley’s voice inside my head nags me to stop this.
That it’s not our kill. Beauty and Axel deserve it.
So, I run over to Caspian and pull him off Jacob, who’s gasping for air.
“You’re lucky once again, Radley. Escaping within inches of your life,” I spit as Casp taps my arm to let him go, only for him to walk over to Jacob and remove the grenade from his mouth.
He heaves, holding his ribs. I look down and see a puddle between his legs and point.
“Is that piss? Did you fucking piss yourself again, Radley?” I laugh. I laugh so fucking hard it hurts. Caspian kicks the puddle, letting it splash all over Jacob's chest, causing me to damn near fall over with laughter.
“Try to jump another one of my soldiers again, and you won’t be so lucky, Little Piggy ” Casp threatens, pulling the joint from my mouth and taking a hit.
“Let’s go. He can clean up the mess,” I tell my brother who flicks the joint at Jacob’s face. He winces, and I laugh.
“Remember what I said, Radley. This is far from over!” Casp yells as we walk back the same way we came, grabbing the duffel and head out through the woods.
Waking up the next morning to pounding on my front door was not on my bingo card for the day.
My body aches, and my chest hurts from the slice Duke gave me.
Last night we partied while Harley sat in the office all night.
I saw Mila go in there again, but I was too busy drinking and playing cards with the others.
“Yo, Rick, What the fuck?” Caspian yells down the hall as I climb out of bed, throwing on a shirt and leaving my room.
“I don’t know, man, but whoever it is I’m going to crash out on. It’s a fucking Saturday. Like what the fuck?” I yell as I fly down the stairs, unlock the door, and swing it open.
“What the—”
“Harley Cyprus?” the officer asks, and I shake my head. I look outside and see his truck isn’t here.
“He’s not here. What can I do for you, officer?” I ask loudly so Caspian can hear me from upstairs. His feet hit the floor, and he comes running down the stairs too.
“Do you know where he is? We have a warrant for his arrest,” he tells us, and my eyes widen. What the fuck?
“Unfortunately, we don’t. What’s the warrant for?” I ask, but the cop spins and heads back to his car. I shut the door as Caspian stands at the bottom of the stairs, stunned.
“Where’s my fucking phone? We need to call Harley and the goddamn lawyer,” I yell, running back to my room and spotting the phone on my desk. I immediately grab it and dial for Harley, but it rings out, going to voicemail. “Fuckkkkkkk!” I yell as Braxton stumbles into my room.
“What the hell is all the commotion about?” he asks, and I spin to tell him when I hear a giggle from down the hall.
“Are you fucking kidding me? Who is in our house?” I growl as Violet comes strutting down the hallway in nothing but shorts, no shirt, and no bra.
I look at her, then at my brother, and narrow my eyes.
I rear back and punch him in the face. His head whips to the side, and I hit him again.
“You’re a real fucking piece of shit! How could you do that to Presley after everything that happened?
” I scream, and Caspian comes running up the stairs and stops in his tracks, taking in the scene.
Brax shakes his head and blinks a few times, then looks at Violet, then at me and his twin.
“I-I—” he goes to say, and I shove him.
“Fuck you! We don’t have time for this!” I spit, walking past him and Caspian.
“Fucking deal with it. I’m going to find Harley!” I growl, stomping down the stairs and heading out the front door.
I need to get to Harley before the fucking cops do. Fuck!
