Epilogue

I promise to love you until the day I die. -Lana

“The wedding was beautiful, but I gotta say I’m looking forward to the honeymoon more,” Grainger wiggles his eyebrows and I give him a light punch in the chest.

“Our wedding was perfect,” I emit a girly sigh, still feeling giddiness over the small, but beautiful ceremony that took place by the ocean. I send him a sly grin. “But I have to admit I’m looking forward to the honeymoon a whole hell of a lot too.”

The last few months have been chaotic. Grainger proposed a month after the whole Fiona fiasco.

That situation was enough to drive the tabloids into a frenzy for weeks afterwards.

Her secret identity, paired with her stalking of me, and then add on her brutal death…

yeah, no one talked about anything else for a long time.

TikTok sleuths delved into her background like bloodhounds and came out with her dark past. Before her stay at the mental institution, she had been raised by two mentally ill parents.

It was a testament to what a talented actress she was that she was able to hide her past so completely.

As for Grainger and me, we ignored most of the gossip.

We focused on us. I gave exactly one interview to a reporter whom I trusted and gave Grainger the credit he deserved.

The public quickly got obsessed with our relationship too.

Thankfully, the few people we had at the wedding, including my best friends Kate and Bella, managed to keep everything quiet.

There had been no helicopters flying overhead trying to take pictures as I had feared there would be.

Now, we were on the private path to our villa in Hawaii. Ready to spend a whole two weeks with only each other for company.

Life is good.

I squeal as I’m lifted off my feet. “What are you doing, you crazy man?”

Grainger flashes me a big grin. “Carrying my bride over the threshold, of course.”

I throw my head back and laugh as we enter our luxurious, villa. I barely have time to look around at the surroundings as Grainger marches through the living room and down a hallway.

“Hey, wait! Don’t you want to look around?” I kick my dangling feet out. I catch sight of dozens of yellow roses placed strategically throughout. Aww, those are my favorite. Grainger must have arranged that for me.

Grainger shoots me a wolfish grin. “The only thing I care about seeing is you.” His eyes slide over my figure. “And in particular what you look like under this dress.”

He finally sets me on my feet in the bedroom. He’s still in his light grey seersucker suit and he looks handsome as hell.

I push his jacket from his shoulders and start to unbutton his shirt. He catches my hands in his. “I thought you wanted to take a look around,” he says in a teasing voice.

“I changed my mind,” I reply saucily. “I would rather see what’s under your attire too.”

We undress quickly but stand there for a moment, just gazing at each other.

“I can’t believe I get to hold you for the rest of my life. I can’t believe you chose me,” he says with true wonder in his voice. His expression of awe causes a lump to form in my throat.

“We chose each other,” I murmur.

And we will continue to choose each other over and over again for the rest of our lives…
