Chapter 14 #2

The belief that Trey had confused domineering for dominant was the only reason I was going to continue the conversation we were having before he disappeared behind the bathroom door.

Okay, that was a lie. Those cum ditches and the dick lifting the towel he wore played a huge part, too.

It all hinged on whether he even wanted to continue the talk now that he had some time and space for reality to settle in.

That worried me. I was already so invested in him.

Ewen would scoff at that—invested. He’d insist I was rewriting facts.

He probably wasn’t wrong. I spent the time between the first game Ewen took me to and now becoming increasingly obsessed—for lack of a better term or as Ewen would categorize it—with the boy, but I didn’t know him.

Not like I did now. It would’ve been nice to continue our conversation in the space where we both felt comfortable sharing.

But unfortunately, that was not the case; maybe we could–

“I thought we were supposed to be getting dressed? Yet you’re still standing there…” Trey said with a wave of his hand, “Looking like that.”

I glanced down at the ratty, old, threadbare t-shirt and butchered joggers. “Point taken. In my defense, I watched you walk away hoping the towel would fall.”

He shook his head. “You have shitty timing.”

“Tell me about it,” I muttered under my breath, moving to pull on something decent. Something I wouldn’t freeze to death in before…

“You should have said something. As you know, I like putting on a show.”

I declined to respond. The kid already knew I wanted him, but I wasn’t sure if the type of show I liked was the type of show he meant.

The images persisted, though. I was certain there were differences between my show and what his idea of a show was.

I shoved the loop of increasingly depraved things I wanted to do to and with him to the back of my mind while I quickly stripped out of my lounging clothes.

Jeans and a solid black Henley came out of the bag and onto my body, and still, I couldn’t rid myself of the images.

Beautiful and sexy described Trey to a T, but they didn’t do him justice.

The sight of him on his knees for me… Fuck me.

My cock throbbed just thinking about it. I wanted him. Badly. So fucking badly.

The vision that played on repeat, overlaying the others, wrapped around my throat and squeezed.

Trey on his knees at my feet. Chin to chest. Hands clasped behind his back.

My hand buried in his hair. All those beautiful rippling muscles on display for the world to see, to crave, to never touch or taste. His hole stretched open around a plug.

Eyes darted around the room, looking for my boots that appeared before my gaze.

My eyes roamed up his arm from where his hand gripped my boots to his shoulder and up to his perfect, beautiful face.

A growl ripped through my throat, which I tried to cover with a cough.

Him bringing me my shoes was a very service subbie task.

Not something I ever asked of any sub who’d been mine or ours—Ewen’s and mine—the few times we tried making a relationship between us work by putting a sub between us.

It never did, so we quit trying.

“Sorry, I didn’t…” Trey said, but I waved him off.

“No apologies. You did nothing wrong.”

“Then what’s…never mind. It’s none of my—”

“Don’t do that. Don’t filter curiosity. If you have a question, ask it. You’re allowed. Always. No matter who it is with. They…I don’t have to answer, but no one has the right to tell you not to ask for what you want. Ever. Got it?”

He nodded. “What’s wrong?”

“You make me harder than I can ever remember being, and I would like nothing better than to bend you over and fuck you until you’re crying and begging for release. But…”

Lips twitched on that gorgeous face of his, and in response, I surged to my feet, taking his mouth and burying my tongue deep. He moaned and I—we—lost ourselves in each other until my phone vibrated on the island.

“We need to get going,” I said, reluctant to let him go.

He nodded.

With my hand on his back, I escorted him out of the loft, and we made our way to the elevator.

He wasn’t mine, I told myself. I mentally repeated the words to myself with every breath and every step.

The Dom in me refused to acknowledge the words.

Trey felt like mine. And until we put some space between us, I would treat him as such.

He looked back at me several times on the trip down; questions painted his expression.

Another thing I ignored.

As we rode the elevator down to the residential entrance to the black SUV Bauer had waiting for us, I reminded myself we weren’t anything.

My head didn’t want to accept it. Or maybe it was my heart.

Either way, I needed to put some space between us so I could pick apart the last twenty-four hours.

Had it really only been a day? Time flew and crept all at once.

Those twenty-four hours felt like both minutes and days long.

The passing of time, or rather how much time passed, made no difference.

I didn’t foresee being able to walk away from him.

Freaked out didn’t begin to cover the fear and elation that thought triggered.

Outside, I handed my bag to the driver with a nod. Trey reached for the SUV door handle only to stop when I muttered, “I got it.”
