Griff
ushered everyone—vampires, werewolves, and witches—into the living room, pulling the blinds closed and making sure the doors were locked before taking a seat himself.
“While I wish the agenda entailed enjoying a wonderful weekend in the woods, unfortunately we’ve got a big bad with an evil plan on our hands,” said .
“Before we get into the plan, G, I think there’s something I need to share with you all,” began Pruitt. “Like said, Uriah and I were created by the First Witch. When we refused to simply be her sex slaves and fell for one another, she cast us out—cursing us to live our lives without love, our memories magically wiped whenever we came too close. With ’s powers, we defeated her—and now, everything about our past has slowly been coming back in waves.”
“Sounds like a great paranormal romance novel,” Fen nudged .
“I’m sorry I didn’t say something sooner, G,” Pruitt said as he looked to his witch lover. “It’s all been coming back to me over the past day.”
“Say something sooner?” asked, looking to Uriah before turning back to Pruitt.
“This King of Wolves they want to bring back,” continued Pruitt. “I—well, I think I loved him, too, and Odessa killed him for it.”
Pruitt looked down, visibly upset. From one side, squeezed his hand. On the other, Uriah put a supportive arm around his shoulders.
The room was silent as the dots were slowly connected.
“And once his lover made him the first of the lycan hybrids, the King of Wolves blessed the First Werewolf with immortality, promising that the power of his magic would run through the werewolf line for all of eternity,” Fen recited, much to Pruitt’s surprise. “Oh, right. You didn’t know. Very common old werewolves’ tale.”
Pruitt sighed. “I had a memory— no, I wouldn’t even call it that . A vivid dream, maybe, of that very spell happening. He—his name?—”
“Theodulf,” interjected Quinn. “Sorry, old friend of mine.”
“ Theodulf ,” Pruitt nodded. “He told me that if the werewolves succeed in bringing him back through this prophecy, it won’t be good. It’ll bring about a great evil.”
Fen stood up urgently, a concerned look on his face as his attention shifted from Magnus to Pruitt.
“ and Uriah, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but may I kiss your boyfriend?” Fen asked. “It’s a curious theory, but with my psychic wolf abilities and his ESP connection, I might be able to, you know, catch him up to speed on everything we’ve shared. Perhaps even fill in any missing gaps.”
Magnus blushed as and Uriah nodded.
“And, of course, Pruitt, your permission is the most important,” continued Fen. “You see, my knowledge of Theodulf is fairly extensive. Perhaps it might bring you some peace to know more about your past love, so..”
Pruitt leaned forward, his hands on either side of Fen’s head, and kissed him with passion and great want. Perplexed at first, Fen relaxed his body and placed his hands on Pruitt’s shoulders. His hands began to glow as they held the kiss.
looked at Haven before grabbing Uriah’s arm. ? I sure hope this works.?
